Good Morning! I noticed everyone must be super busy getting out the door (or logged on) for Work - I am OFF today for my scheduled surgery. Thought I would take a peek to see what everyone is up to - I finished all my contract reports for Fulton Co. so I can start next week with a clean slate. That feels good I have a very tight, almost unrealistic timeline for work-work reports. When I told the Prince I was having surgery and would need time off, the only thing he asked was 'What about the timeline for the reports?" Seriously? THAT is your question? I told him the timeline is tight. And Queen B knows it. I will work a bit as I feel up to on work-work reports. But I promised myself no way was I going to kill myself to meet unrealistic expectations. One of our Special Ed teachers is feeling the pressure with me as she has to write the individual plan for each of the reports - she asked for a stipend since she is working at home more than ever after work but Queen B said, "NO". Ha! Meanwhile our school nurse receives a stipend of $500 a week for being Pandemic Coordinator. Since I am ALSO the Pandemic Coordinator she gets the money, but I get the work. Hmm...so I sorta took a back seat when I learned that. Now it's the school nurse calling parents most evenings trying to follow up with close contacts and COVID tests but the same consideration is not given to Special Ed department. Kinda out of whack. But hey, not my circus...

My surgery is outpatient this afternoon - 1:30 - but they want us there at Noon in case my surgeon is ahead of schedule. I feel it's going to be a loonnnggg day. BUT - gotta get it done! DH Gary is off today too - he's my "responsible driver" lol - the man who gets lost downtown is going to have to figure out how to get us home from the downtown surgery center. Ha! So Thinking First: I'm fasting but honestly not a big deal since I followed intermittent fasting since July - I can have black coffee this morning so I'm slowly sipping one cup. I don't want to feel nauseated from the general anesthesia later. I will make a pot of Chili for Gary to have meals - all he'll need to do is reheat it - so he is set for tonight and tomorrow. I think I'll be following a 'soft diet' for the next few days - I'm planning on scrambled eggs for a meal or two - I'll be fine. Carole - oh I really hope you are feeling better soon. That doesn't sound good feeling achey and run down. Let us know how you feel! Sue - ohhh man. I feel bad for Gloria but I honestly feel doom for YOU being left alone with Tonya if Gloria is out for TKR. I know you are strong and can get through it but man oh man. That will be tough. How was your luncheon yesterday? I love pulled pork and smoked turkey meals! Ymmm I thought of you when my FitBit said Sleep was 90! Unheard of for me!!! LOL LOL I'm usually in the 70s and at best I hit 80. So I guess I'm not that worried after all about this surgery. Gabrielle - I must say, a long run in the dark at 4:30 AM is indeed impressive lol Geesh, GF - you kill me. LOL But we are very proud of you for taking such good care of YOU and yes, sometimes you gotta loosen up the self-expectations. Right? Glad things are moving along well - how's the weather forecast? Looks like things are getting cooler - we had some real unusually WARM days here in the high 70s but the air feels much cooler. Not like a hot summer day, just hot sun with cool air - very odd - the rain is supposed to start tomorrow night through the weekend so I'm kinda glad it will force me to relax and veg in the recliner LOL Jenny - sounds like another long weekend for you which is totally awesome and yes, much needed for YOU! Leaves are falling here - time to get my yard figurines brought in but it's tough when my summer flowers are still so full and beautiful. My mums are doing great too - I'm glad I got those planted weeks ago so hopefully they will 'take' and add to my new landscaped area where we pulled the large bushes out in front of the house.

Karen - thinking of you and your school. Hope your week is better than last week - and the Principal is leaving you be... Shelly - how are you doing? Hoping everyone at the store is behaving and giving you time to do your job with less babysitting their antics. How is everything with the Boys? I know there was quite a bit of drama with soon to be ex-DIL but she sounds very confused and petty - I mean, SHE is the one having affairs then turns around and presses charges against DS - what a mess - I'm hoping he has a good attorney to help sort through this mess and keep the focus on the kids. Stay Calm...it will be alright. Okay - need to get the chili made and toss one more load of towels in the wash - I'll check in tomorrow to see how everyone's Thursday is going...weekend is ALMOST here!!

Good Morning
Well yesterday was a fiasco. On my way to work I accidentally hit a raccoon and when I hit it I heard a loud pop, I thought it was a flat tire and so I called Kerry and told him, it was 6:00am in the morning so it was dark and a little foggy so he loaded up what he needed and came down to help. When he got there it turned out to be just the wheel well around the tire popped off so he took it off and put it in his pickup and I went on to work. I wasn't to late, I got here by 7:00am so that was good, technically we don't open till 7:00am but I like to get here at 6:30am for my 4-10's, and get into my computer and get organized for the day. I took his pickup to work today because he's is going to put the plastic wheel well back on my car. Without it there all the water from the rain and dirt can come up into the floors of your car and leak and that's not good. Then, when I got here to work, I saw my scales were blue tagged and that means the Dept of Agriculture came out to test them and they were out of tolerance, so a scale repair company came into to fix them and it turned out that the load cell that weighs the trucks was dead. Since these scales at the Elk plant are over 30 years old it took them most of the day just to get to the cell to replace it so I had to go off the loader scales to ticket the trucks. I was pretty lucky it was really slow all day, but they are fixed now and working just peachy.
It's still raining, but that's ok I like it. It's going to clear up this afternoon though. We (my sisters and myself) are going on Saturday to look at burial plots for my mom and dad, they finally decided to get the ball rolling to plan for their funeral. They were just going to leave it to us girls to do but my older sister told my parents that this isn't for us to plan cause we can't afford it. So I guess here we go for this stage in their life.
Christine good luck with the surgery and way to pre plan for Gary. We are having spaghetti tonight for dinner. My MRI is Tuesday so I will be fasting on that day as well. I'm glad your taking some time to yourself and maybe the prince needs to do those reports or maybe cross train someone to do them when you can't. He's such an A--.
Carole hope your feeling better today.
Hello to Gabrielle and Sue
I need to go evidently today is going to busier than yesterday

Gloria's TKR is scheduled for November 15th barring cancellation due to COVID.....I'm excited for her and thankfully will have a few "Tonya breaks" with Thanksgiving and Christmas while she's off... Tonya is already whining about how busy she will be because December is her busiest month?? Funny, last year she took off between Christmas and New Year's so it can't be that busy?? OMG...she will drive me nuts!!
See you all after work...I talked to DM on Tuesday...wait till you hear that one....I'm pi$$ed!!
Good luck today Christine...will be thinking of you at 1:30pm!!!

Evening all....it's a glorious day here in Glenville....upper 70's, bright sunshine!! Just perfect and a gift in October!! Tomorrow will be a bit warmer and still bright sunshine!! Showers come back on Saturday afternoon but temps will still be warmer than normal through the weekend!!
Tonya left early today to go to the doctor....she's been trying to treat a UTI for several days with cranberry juice and extra water...well, we all know she needs an anti-biotic and today it caught up with her....I told her to go on Monday but she said, "no, I know how to treat them"!! UGH!!
Now time to catch up....
Carole...Thanks for starting us off on Tuesday! I will say had a pretty good Tuesday once the internet was back up and running...not sure what caused it but it was on when I left but didn't have time to post at that point!! Honestly Carole...I had heard to take what she says with a "grain of salt" and only believe 25% of what comes out of her mouth....boy is that the truth!! I texted Jill when I got home today to see how she is doing...I know she needs her rest, Carly (DD) said she was really tired and rundown. Haven't heard back from her yet!! Yes, the "bubble guppies" cup is helping....it's amazing how 6+ extra ounces several times a day adds up. I've been keeping a tally of how many I get each day and it's been 7-8 each day so that's 40-50 extra ounces!!
So glad you enjoyed the day on the boat!! Bummer the weather wasn't better but sounds like you made the best of it! Oh Carole, I did hear more as to why SW had issues over the weekend and early this week. Unlike other airlines, SW does not have any "hubs" where there are extra planes just sitting there....their flights are just fly in, change cities and crew if needed and fly back out again. Other airlines have extra planes and crews so if a planes is cancelled or going to be really late, they just use another one. So, when one SW flight gets delayed/cancelled, the domino effect starts...I knew SW had "hub" airports but they do not store planes there like other airlines....
I agree Carole...the noise "trigger" like Alexis would be a concern for me too....I guess I'm of the mindset that you ask the doctor questions, you seek counseling and try to help the poor child work through them now....I'd hate to see her afraid of so many things as she gets older!! Thanks for the "Thieves Tea" reminder...the last couple winters I have been enjoying a cup of that every work day...I had forgotten about that....but the weather isn't cold enough yet for me to break out the hot beverages at work!! Hopefully whatever seems to be jumping on you doesn't last long or make you feel too badly!!
Jenny...WOW, you got chilly quickly!! Doesn't seem too long ago you were HOT HOT HOT!! I'm still in shorts and short sleeves. I have to wear closed toed shoes at work since I walk through the warehouse often. But I only wear them at work...the rest of the time it's sandals! The weatherman just said it will be a couple more weeks until we hit peak color....we are all vibrant green in our yard still! I'm sure your parents loved the visit from their great grandsons!! ♥♥
Yes Jenny...Tonya does know we are "on to her"!! She hasn't worked any OT this week and not once has she said she is "so busy"....we are steady but by no means busy!! We are talking about some sort of insert/stove when we remodel. I was thinking propane but might go with pellet...will need to do more research before them to see what is the most practical When we open up the wall and the house is more of an "open concept" the stove would heat the kitchen, DR, LR very well....bath & bedrooms might need a boost of electric but if we leave the doors open, who knows???

Lunch yesterday was delish!!! I did divide it in half right away on Wednesday and today I had the leftovers but there was too much meat so I left enough pulled pork/turkey for a sandwich so I will bring a slider roll for tomorrow with my baked potato/broccoli lunch I already had packed in the fridge for tomorrow...easy peasy!! One more week of lunches done!!
I have a turkey thawing in the fridge to make this weekend. I figured we can have a nice dinner, then some leftovers but I can make some soup or something else with some of the leftovers....that should be enough to get us through the week!! We have fresh broccoli and cauliflower coming from the garden too so lots of nice veggies!! Might just steam a IP batch....it comes out just perfect!!
As I mentioned, Gloria's TKR is scheduled for November 15th...Tonya is pi$$ed!!! Tonya had wanted to take off the week of Thanksgiving but with Gloria off, while Mark would let her off and I would fly solo with maybe some help from Bekah (the girls in shipping whose place I took) but then Tonya would have to train me on more of her job and then she would have no excuses because then Gloria and I can both be her back up...she will NOT want that!! Gloria knows she will have to start her deductible all over again but after thinking about it, she only has about $1000 left to her total annual out of pocket so all the surgery, surgeon, hospital, etc will be paid!! With all the appointments and pre-op tests she has to have done, most of the remainder of the out of pocket will be met!! Makes sense....she will definitely same more $$ since she is that close!! I didn't realize she was that close so when they mentioned 11/15...she took it!! I'm so happy for her...I know and see the pain she is in...I remember it well!! He will also remove the Baker's Cyst when he does the TKR. Truth be told we were all surprised she could get it done so soon but the doctor did say that he has had 2 surgery days cancelled because if there are not enough beds for those like Gloria that will spend a couple nights in the hospital, they won't do the surgery!! Fingers crossed that doesn't happen to her!
Carole...I'm sure you will be back to being our "water guru"...I know some days I have good intentions but just get busy and forget to drink!! Sorry what ever you have is lingering on...guess Crystal did your foreign checks yesterday??? Take care my friend!!
Gabrielle...so glad rain is finally coming your way with a bit of regularity!! Are they predicting a snowy winter in the mountains this year??? I know your water table has been low this year!! So glad you are really focusing on tracking and getting to bed at a decent hour!! WTG!! LOL, yes, perfection is an impossible goal....it's very hard to let go of that mindset but I love the minimum, basic, preferred focus....

Christine...thanks for starting us off today...bet you were hungry by the time you got to surgery! I'm assuming you were fasting after midnight in prep for your surgery!! YAY for getting all the contract reports completed before you head to Fulton again next week. Are you leaving Sunday or Monday??? OMG...the Prince is a piece of work...only worried about the timeline...yes, Queen B is away and it's her thing!! NO, take plenty of time for you and do not feel responsible to do work work when off....Think about it this way! If you got in a car accident on the way to work today and were laid up for several weeks/months...what would the Prince/Queen B do??? They would have to handle it...you deserve the time and take it!! WOW...seems pretty unfair that the school nurse gets a stipend for her "extra work" but you and the school nurse are not given the same benefit?? Seems unfair to me!! Glad you too a back seat and let the school nurse have to "earn" the stipend!!
LOL Christine...for as long as you have lived there, Gary still gets lost downtown!! Hopefully you will be alert enough heading home to get there safely!! Yes, I'm sure you will be on a soft/modified diet for a couple days....I forget if dad was on a restricted diet after his hernia surgery...it was when he was still married to DM so it was over 30 years ago!!
Oh Christine...the best part of Gloria having her surgery in November...I'm going to Nebraska December 17th - 27th....Tonya will be alone for 5 working days....she "thinks" she's busy now! Well, she will be busy then!! But as I said, last year when she found out that I had cancelled my trip to NE, she immediately took the week between Christmas and New Years off...so she probably won't be as busy as she claims but she will work TONS of OT ...who cares! Let her! After she left today Gloria and I actually started to giggle when we realized she was off and I was in NE!! Honestly....Tonya knows better than to give me any sh!t when Gloria is off...she knows we are on to her!!
I had never had smoked turkey breast before and it was yummy.....not too "smoky" but some nice flavor!! LOL...I'm usually in the upper 80's on my Fitbit...this week I had one 79, but I knew I slept like crap....the rest of the week was 86-88 and even one 92!! That was the night after the 79....guess I was so exhausted from the night before, I slept like a rock!! Nope, I'm sure you will be relieved to just get the surgery done and over with!!
Jenny...bummer about the tire fiasco yesterday!! Amazing how much damage a raccoon can do...they seem small but I guess if you hit them just right, they can cause big issues!! Glad you weren't too much later than you like to be. I do like to be there a little earlier so I am organized and ready to actually start my work day....nothing worse than starting the day all flustered!! YIKES...scale snafu sounds like a pain!! Glad it's fixed and all is well!! Glad it was slow since you had to do things a bit differently than normal!!

OK...so here is the lowdown on DM....I finally got to talk to her on Tuesday! I have called several times over the weeks and sometimes we chat, other times no answer but she did answer this week. I asked how she was and what was "new" in her world!! Well, the first words out her her mouth were "Chief has COVID and Annie is helping her out and then coming to help me"!! OK, Chief is Annie's DM...Chief, Annie, Jim and the kids are not vaccinated!! That annoys me too that since they spend so much time with DM and really don't see the need to be proactive with not only their health but hers. If they don't want to be vaccinated, so be it but then for safety of DM, put on a mask ESPECIALLY after being exposed to COVID!!
So....that's not bad enough but when they get into DM's apartment, they take off their masks after coming from Chief's place....then when DM put's her mask on, she gets yelled at because she just being silly and it's "no big deal"!! When Annie takes DM to appointments she takes her mask off in the car(they still need to wear masks in all public places of DM's housing facility) and scolds DM for keeping hers on....Not only am I annoyed that they just have no regard for DM's compromised health but then are so careless going mask free around her. Then to belittle and scold her for trying to be proactive keeping herself safe...I'm just pi$$ed!!
Good news...DM had the Pfizer vaccine and did get her booster last week so that's a good thing....after I talked to DM, I called David and Katie to let them know and boy...I thought I was angry....they are REALLY angry!! Last night Kris talked to DM and then I got a message while playing Words with Friends...she's with us!! While Kris is the only one that is truly compromised health-wise...we all feel like we need to be aware that visiting with DM we need to do all we can to keep her safe too!! I said to DM when I talked to her "sorry it took us so long to visit you but when COVID hit, I wasn't coming until you and we were vaccinated...we weren't taking chances with anyone's health"!! She said "I'm not worried about you...I know you will do all you can to keep me safe"!!
OK...rant over! Time for some dinner!!
Carole...hope you are feeling better today....
Waves Shelly, Jo and anyone else I might have missed!! Hope all had a great day and enjoying the wonderful weather I am!!
Sweet dreams all!

Good evening!
By now all of you on the East coast are asleep (I hope) and I will be heading to bed within the next 30 minutes. Watching the NL playoffs---Dodgers vs. Giants--rivals and a pretty exciting game! They are well-matched. Today was a good day, but super busy. Left the house by 6:45 am and got home at about 6:30 pm. But the good news was that I left work at 5:30 to go to the nursery and pick out some plants for the front planter---a cool evening but beautiful to be in a nursery as the sun went down. Logged my meals for the day, drank a lot of water, and will aim for some good sleep next. I saw that Karen emailed us about the daily rates...sounds like there are some other places with daily rates? I am really surprised that so many places can get booked for a whole week all year long! Thanks so much Karen (and Tony for doing some of that footwork for us!
Christine: By now the surgery is long over, hopefully you made it home and DH is not still driving all over PA finding his way home....and you have had some nice meals! So glad that you are taking the time that you need to heal and get rest. Wow, what wild thing that they decided to pay a stipend! Yikes, that just opens a can of worms I hope that the Prince and Queen B come out of this with a NEW appreciation for all that you do! I hope that you are resting well now and not in any kind of discomfort.
Sue: Yikes to DM and the situation with the masks! Wow....glad that she got her booster. Is it like the others where it takes 2 weeks to have full effect? I am anxious for the Moderna booster to be approved! So glad that Gloria could get a Nov 15 surgery date--that is amazing! I was sure that she would have to wait until 2022. Glad that you have your time booked to head to NE....that will be so much fun for you and Jason! Hope that work goes well and that you have a good night's sleep.

Jenny: Wow, what a day you had! So gld that Kerry could come help you out with the tire...how odd that the whole thing happened. Sadly, a lot of raccoons get hit around here but it doesn't seem to do anything else. Thank goodness it was a minor thing! Lucky you have tomorrow off, right? Ugg to the scale issue but sounds like they responded quickly---good thing that you try to get there early! Will Audrey be over this weekend? Hope that you have a nice long weekend!
Carole: How are you feeling? Better I hope! The landscaper is coming on Saturday and I am so excited! I will be even better when we get the lawn seeded, but happy to get the planters done for now. I do hope that your week is ending on a good note!
Okay, I am fading fast...time to get to bed and it's a tied game at the bottom of the 7th inning....oh well!
