Phyl the only reason we don’t have a long wait for the watchman is when we saw the heart doctor who does this procedure on August 24th he tentatively put it on his schedule as he said if he didn’t it would be after the first of the year and if things didn’t work out he could take it off. He is the only doctor here that does the procedure that’s why it takes so long to get it scheduled. We thought that was a long time but here it is only 10 days away.
Bridgette seems totally fine now. She still howls like crazy at Fred when he eats something but he’s gotten a lot better in refusing to share. As I kept telling him once she knows she isn’t getting any she stops but throws herself down in her dog bed and pouts. At those times she is just like Bailey! The difference is Bailey gives up pretty quickly once she realizes no food is being shared.
I had a pleasant surprise yesterday. I was playing a game on my iPad and all of a sudden I was getting a FaceTime request and it was from my oldest DGD Maddie! She never FaceTimes me so I answered right away. She is the one who is in vet school at VTech. She was sitting outside under a tree and wanted to introduce me to her new dog Cooper. He’s a four year old Border Collie. He had been used in training the students on how to properly care for a dog. Once the class is done the students have the opportunity to adopt but are carefully checked first and told what to expect from the breed so there are no surprises and no returns. They come from the local animal shelter and Cooper and her had bonded the first day. Since her apartment won’t allow pets she has him at her sister’s house and since she has a class from 8-12 and then lab from 1-5 and her sister has her classes in the afternoon he is not alone for long as her sister’s roommates are in and out all day and love him. They do crate him if he’s alone so no damage can happen. Then in the spring her sister is doing a study abroad for the semester and Maddie will move into her house as the apartment she is in she is sub-letting from a girl who is doing an internship in DC but will be back for the spring semester so everything was right for her to do this. Cooper is adorable and just from the interaction on FaceTime I can tell he adores her! After showing him to me we had a wonderful visit and I loved it as we never get one on one time.
After hearing yesterday that the watchman procedure is a go and already approved by Humana I think both Fred and I relaxed and were all of a sudden very tired. He blamed it on the cooler weather but I think the stress of not knowing had been lifted and our bodies just wanted to rest! He said he is going to golf Saturday as even though it will be on the cool side the course they are playing is very easy and he will rent a cart. We have a few things to get at the store today plus he wants to get the ingredients for a dip his friend made that is delicious. I will hold off on laundry until tomorrow while he’s golfing.

Here’s a recipe I thought some of you might like.
It’s kind of spicy because of jalapeños but you can cut back on the amount. I don’t think it should be cut out entirely as it could affect the taste. But a friend of Fred’s made it and it’s delicious!
4 oz can of diced green chilies - drained 4 oz can of diced jalapeños - drained 15 oz can of corn peppers - drained 1 pkg of ranch dressing 8 oz cream cheese 8 oz 1/3 less fat cream cheese
Mix in a bowl and serve with taco chips. I think you could use veggies as well. I think the two kinds of cream cheese is to cut back a bit on calories and fat.

Sandy, we had friends at the campground who had a Border Collie & his name was Cooper also! I loved that dog & he seemed to take to me also. They only camped during the week because Cooper thought the whole campground was his domain & would bark at all the weekend campers. He was pretty high stressed & they had to give him medication so he would calm down when riding in their car.

Lucy that picture looks like us here in Pa. , not quite yet but getting there. and I even have a covered bridge on my way to DDs homes. can't drive over it but now it is a park to launch the kayaks, that have gotten really big in our area. Lot of rivers to navigate. During covid at it's worst was a new big sport. We are the same weather you are having today. and rain in forecast for later this afternoon.
I am fine after the flu shots. Arms a little sore in middle of night but fine this morning. I did take the bandaids off this morning. wanted to remember where exactly they were given. No redness or swelling at either spot.
Sandy what a lovely surprise. I don't know what corn peppers are. ?? Not sure I can get jalapenos in jar will have to have my DD check as she does the larger grocery store. Know my Grandsons will love that dip. Thanks for posting it. Will not give up on the ingredients.
I have milk I need to use and thinking a custard pie today. Will make two crusts but should find something else to do the 2nd one in a few days. Maybe a chocolate dream pie. My neighbors favorite. she has been cooking all week for family so maybe will enjoy something she didn't have to cook herself. DGS is stopping after work to pick up the gift I have for Ezra. Just a cute pair of light blue pjs with the feet in and a zipper for easy dressing also a blue fleece light weight jacket for those cooler days we are expecting. He was going to stop last night but had too much time at the car dealership after work, he was ordering a new truck and trading in his small vehicle. The truck has to be ordered but he is hoping it is at least in US. Who knows these days. I have 2 birthdays coming up in November with the Great Grandbabies. Boy this keeps me busy. But I love every minute. Don't think any parties this time. Have some ironing to do today and a trip to Rite Aid in my future some time. Need a stop at Busy Beaver for a door knob for closet but who knows when I will feel like doing either of them. I tend to put off errands. Wish Phyl lived closer I would have her do my errands for me. I like staying home.
Tomorrow is part of the day with Emma, we are going to the library, her first trip, and they have the whole basement all set up for kids. Know is going to love it. Bright colorful and busy. areas to sit and read and etc. Maybe lunch out depends on when is convenient for them. I will be ready when ever they text me they are coming. Just told Granddaughter not early in morning.!! I am useless then. opens at 9am. Too early for me to function normally. LOL

Connie we found the corn and jalapeños in the Hispanic food aisle along with the green chilies. The can said sweet corn with peppers so I think it’s just a fancy way of saying Mexicorn. I love that the cans of jalapeños shows already diced as does the can of green chilies. So no work at all just put it all together but don’t forget to drain everything as if you don’t it will be real soupy.

I am waiting for Bobbie this morning. Not sure if she will be able to walk Shana so I'm gonna get dressed. Phyl: I did sleep better last night. I think Jim knew he better not wake me again since he must have woken me 20 times the night before. My Fitbit says I had less than 6 hrs. of sleep but that's better than 2 and 3 for sure.
See you all later for tuck in.

Hi!
My fool computer updated and everything went wonky. I am finally back! Still filled with allergy, but... It rained again last night, so I'm breathing better today. I hope I can go get a haircut this afternoon. I remember my dad telling me that rain is God's way of washing the air. Now, I know that it cleans out the pollen and dust, etc. But I still like the image of God washing the air. We are still an inch behind in the amount we should have for the year.
This morning, DH got breakfast sandwiches from Braum's, and that was a treat. I'll have veg soup for lunch, but no clue yet for dinner.
Laundry is done and put away. Better go fix that soup! Hugs! Diane

I wish it were cool enough for soup here, I like it on chilly days. I do have some beef cubes in freezer for when it gets cooler. Beef broth at the ready. Veggie beef soup in my future I hope. Even chili one of these days.
thanks for the info on the dip. Will definitely get DD to help me out with that.

Hello, friends!
We met DD and the DGDs at Bob Evans' for lunch (their choice). We had a nice lunch. When we entered, it was pleasant; when we came back to the cars, it was windy and cold. Ick. Since BE is right on a big intersection of I-70, we just about jumped from our skins when one of the semis blew their horn that sounded like a train right beside us. I'd like to have a horn like that!
Kathie, did you find a new way to "walk" Shana? There must be a way for her to get her exercise without both you and Bobbi ruining your skeletal systems!
Diane, so glad to find you back online! Updates can really throw a person out of sync, can't they?!
Sandy, border collies are really wonderful pets.
I'm really getting cold, so I'm going to turn up the furnace! Brrr! See you later! ~~Mollyann
