It was a busy morning cooking for me. I made an Eating Well Creamy Wild Rice and Mushroom Soup. We had that for lunch. It is completely vegetarian but not vegan or gluten free. Even the grouchy carnivore liked it. Iggy’s birthday is next Wednesday and I promised him a homemade meatball pizza and lasagna-not on the same day-so I made the marinara and the meatballs today. We will probably have the lasagna on Sunday. It looks like it is going to rain but no precipitation yet. We really need it. Karen, the herbs in the ground are next to the house, so we don’t cover them for the winter. Mr Lemon is still outside. Iggy wants to bring it in but I am holding out a little longer. I don’t want to lose the light from the window he puts it in front of and it disrupts the traffic flow from family room to kitchen. Frankly, it is so big I am sick of it in the house every winter. The sushi was average. Good enough for the price. Love the pixie cut and it looks cute. I am happy to near the ears are better. Linda, sorry to hear the Mexican dinner was a disappointment. Happy you heard from doctor and I hope you were able to sleep better. Do you know what kind of pants I miss? Chinos. Kathy, is your aunt still away? Any beach getaways planned by DS and DBIL? Have Thanksgiving discussions started? We don’t know yet if it is just the two of us. Too early to tell. Waving to Liz, Becky and Denise.

Chele, we went over 90 yesterday and looks like we're going to do it again. Our little bit of fall went poof! I've done very little Christmas shopping so far. I do plan to do some this weekend. How about you? I'm going to try and get some of the usual things that I order. I hate to miss the Black Friday sales, but I think it may be too late for some things this year. Also, as Liz pointed out, you lose the ability to return things in January if you buy things too early. How's the grouch doing? 😠Sounds like Mr. Lemon has outworn his welcome. 🍋🍋🍋
My aunt returns Tuesday. We haven't started Thanksgiving discussions yet either. I doubt anyone is having a big gathering, so we'll see. DS and DBIL have been really cautious so far and have only had family visits outside on their pool deck. It's a good thing since it turned out DBIL's son and his girlfriend were both positive one of the times they visited. They both had fairly mild cases and are recovered now, but just glad it didn't spread to anyone else.
Karen, sorry to see that the Dodgers won yesterday. What's on your football schedule for this week? FSU is off, so I'll probably watch some of the UF/LSU game and the UCF/Cincinnati game. I don't know if DS/DBIL are heading anywhere this season. I'm sure they'll at least do a long weekend somewhere. I think DBIL is retiring for real at the end of the year, so they will have lots of time after that. I'm guessing DS won't last long with him retired and will be retired soon herself. I think she gets a decent boost in her pension if she waits until after her birthday in June next year. We've noticed Publix sales have been lame too. I guess they have enough demand to not have as many sales.
Linda, did they not even season Bob's veggie fajitas? He would've been better off just taking the meat out of the regular ones! Glad you finally made some progress with the doctor. I've been going around and around on getting a prescription approved. Just got off a long call with the pharmacy and they say it will be shipped today and arrive tomorrow. I'll believe it when I see it!
Waving to Liz, Becky and Denise.

Thanks for the start, Chele. I know Iggy will enjoy his birthday meals. The soup might be veganizable, but it would be thinner if plant milk was subbed for the cream. Must have been tasty for it to have appealed to the carnivore. What will you have when he has his meatball pizza? Will the lasagna be vegetarian? I was going to ask about the status of Mr. Lemon. Maybe you need to build on a sunroom so he can he could have his own place away from the issues it causes indoors. Probably would be more expense and trouble than it's worth to do that. But it would allow you to "sit outside" in the winter.
Linda, I have had summer squash in fajitas, but never cruciferous veggies. Sorry it wasn't good. I'll bet the pie was. My phone has been bad about not showing alerts as well. At least the doc said not to worry, so hopefully that will ease your mind a little. But you still have no idea when you will hear something definitive.
Unfortunately, the Giants season is over, Kathy. I don't know if you saw the way it ended, but it was a bad call by the 3rd base umpire. Granted, the batter may have struck out on the next pitch, but what if he hit a home run and we won 3-2? Now all I can do is root for the Braves and hope they can send the Dodgers back home. App State got creamed by Univ of LA last night and Clemson plays tonight. So the only game tomorrow is Texas playing "the other" OSU at Noon. So a quiet football weekend here with Michigan also being off. The UF/LSU game could be a good one. Wishing UCF luck against the Bearcats. After taking care of the Irish a couple of weeks ago, they could be a handful. I know what you mean about DS being coerced toward retirement by DBIL's impending departure from the workforce. Good luck with the Rx. And after it gets shipped, if it's coming USPS. Sorry you're getting another heat wave. We're supposed to be cooling off tomorrow, so I'll try to send you some.
Liz, you made it to Friday. I hope you will have a safe commute home and non-eventful weekend. How goes the prep?
Not much going on here today. I baked a butternut squash for Arya and a couple of purple sweet potatoes that DSIL brought me earlier in the week. No energy. Dinner is leftover beans and rice that I will combine with some of the sweet potatoes, mushrooms, kale, green peas, edamame, and seaweed, with red grapes for dessert. I think Dale will be stopping at Salsarita's tomorrow on his way home, so I'll have fresh food tomorrow.
Waving to Becky and Denise.

Karen, I hate it when a game ends on a bad call and that's even worse when it ends the season. I just realized UCF and UF are both playing at noon, so that will save me a few hours. I'll just switch back and forth during the many commercials. I'll be pleasantly surprised if UCF wins, especially with their freshman backup QB. The Rx is being delivered by a delivery service. I haven't seen any notices for it so far, so like I said, I'll believe it when it gets here. I miss the good ol' days where you took in a paper prescription and they just filled it with no hassles for a standard copay, lol.
The new season of Doctor Who starts on Halloween night and it looks like BBC America is airing a lot of previous episodes in the days leading up to the premiere. I need to refresh my memory on what all happened last season.

.5:30 and DH fetched the images on cd himself, brought it to office and gave it to her, and she put it in her pocket and she said she would call. Did not unless it was same time as a Robo call. now we have the weekend again. Texted again.I hate texting. Trying to get appt ASAP To be there in person. Cannot understand how a dr can keep not getting back when it has been dragging on for six weeks. Think when he sees his primary in two weeks he will ask for a good neurologist and drop her after over ten years. She seems to forget a lot. We have the reports.
nervous energy can be useful. Tomorrow is the annual city food drive…literally drive. you drive up and someone unloads the car! We bought a lot of canned stuff in case of shortages, quarantine or what and pull dates are close. I swear pull dates expire quickly on Safeway stuff. I also have off brand cleaning stuff I will never use. I also discovered I am buying stuff I already have because I Don't see it.
Saw that people wish for cleaning stuff, dishwashing detergent, coffee, tea,tp ,lotions, cake mix, frosting, and other things that cost a lot or get left out in their financial priories.
by the time I got that out of my sewing, art, etc closet and sorted through what we have in pantry, the whole pantry and part of garage got cleaned up! A lot of the garage needs sorting and rearranging.
