Debt-- continue to take steps to eliminate debt (including the kids college debt that we are covering) so that I have no debt when I retire 3. Connectedness-- each month have a plan to stay connected to those who I care about (maybe dinner once/month after COVID, Zoom, phone calls, etc. 4. Morning all....slept pretty well and thankfully it was only the one day of OT this week!! I can deal with that!! I know when Gloria is off, there will be plenty of OT to stay caught up!! The toughest part will be right after Thanksgiving because we will only have 2 days to catch up from the long weekend that is always a disaster....at least when I come back after Christmas it will be 4 days to catch up from the long Christmas (4 days off for Tonya too)…we'll be fine but Tonya will have to work her tush off!! LOL!! Something she is NOT used to!! I'm hoping she will be actually "so busy" her mouth stops!!!
Gabrielle...glad your long work day had a fun ending stopping at the nursery to pick out some plants for the house!! Nice end to a long day!! What did you pick?? Not sure you heard but as of yesterday, the Moderna booster was approved!! Today the FDA will be voting on the J&J vaccine booster!! Jason is eligible next Saturday so once that time arrives, I will be scheduling him since he is over 65 years old. I will need to wait for a bit but as soon as I'm eligible, I will be getting mine too!! So glad the landscaper will be there tomorrow...can't wait to see pictures of before and after!!
Christine...hope surgery went smoothly and you are home resting today. Take it easy my friend and give yourself plenty of time to heal.
Carole...hope you are feeling better by today. Is anyone else sick in the house?? Might it be allergies?? The air quality around here because of the "warm up" and damp weather we had last week, allergies are rampant here right now!!!
Shelly....hope the Tyler/Cassie saga is settling down a bit and the staffing shortage is getting resolved at the store. Take care of yourself.
Lisa...are you still working your temp job?? Hope you are doing well and still heading to the gym!!
Jo...what's new?? Pop in when you can!!
Jenny...enjoy your day off today!! Hopefully no car or scale snafus yesterday!!!
Have a great day all....I may or may not get back after work...will be painting with Chris, the co-worker that I would go to dinner at Chili's with. It's a fund raiser....the canvas is the long narrow one and it's a single peacock feather....not sure how easy it will be but if I can pull it off, it should be pretty!! Tomorrow evening we head to American Movie Theater FINALLY to see "Master Chef Jr."....should have gone March of 2020 and finally after 3 cancelled dates it's happening!!

GMTA SUE!! Thank you for starting us off - I was just looking to join you - have a GOOD Friday today and yes, hooray for Friday! I had a GOOD night's sleep! For me, anyways, earned an 80 score which is very good. Considering being the first night post-op I thought for sure it would be a bit rough. I slept in DD Carly's room to avoid the tossing/turning of DH at night - it was good. I think he was glad too because I had set my phone alarm to go off several times in order to take otc meds throughout the night. It worked. Now I am feeling sore. Very sore. Sitting with an ice pack over the area - that seemed to help a lot yesterday - Everything moved along smoothly yesterday. We arrived a Noon only to be surprised I was called back for pre-surgery prep by 12:20. Vitals good, history was already in the system (you submit it all online) so the nurse just double checked it all. I changed into the lovely hospital gown (not!) booties and hair cap. My Wedding rings do not come off - years of swelling and weight gain and this sort of put-off the nurses. Hey, it happens. Get over it. LOL They were concerned that the metal in my rings might cause my finger to burn but they noted it to the surgeon, and in the end it was fine. I actually went in to surgery at 1:30 for anesthesia, fell immediately asleep. Surgery began at 2:00 - done by 2:30. Surgeon called my DH Gary said once he was 'in there' he discovered TWO hernias but the inserted mesh would hold the wall just fine and he fixed both. Just a bit surprised. He kept saying I must have been in a LOT of discomfort - HA! I let DH think I was, but shhh, really? I wasn't that I noticed. Far more discomfort with arthritis in the knees and tops of my feet - maybe I just have built up tolerance at this point LOL Recovery went fine - I was sitting up and had a small snack. Did well, got dressed by 3:30 and home by 4:00. DH did not get lost. Whew. It really was a very simple one main road to the light turn left and get to our side of town. He's just an unaware driver. Never reads the signs, just relies on landmarks but downtown those landmarks CHANGE!. Had to drop a pain med prescription at the pharmacy. They could not fill it without physician approval so said when they had time they would call but the Pharmacist tech said I should call my insurance company immediately to see if they would contact the physician and get faster results. Well, that's new. Once home, DH tried to call health insurance but they would only speak with me the policy holder. I get it, safety concerns for an opiod and all - by the time we connected the insurance company said I should call my physician to request approval that they could only offer reimbursement paperwork if I paid out of pocket. Ohhhkay. So I called the physician's office at 4:30 and of course the Answering Service was already on-call. She was a bit panicky and insisted I call back during business hours. I tried to explain I was just now home from the surgery and now I can't get my prescription filled. Yeah, sorry, she said. Call back to the office TOMORROW. grrr...so I called the pharmacy to see how much the cost of out of pocket and explain this runaround. The recorded message for my records (they connect your date of birth, info) stated I had one prescription being refilled and it would be ready at 5:01. OH GOOD! So DH grumbled and growled because we were just there and all he wanted was a shower and eat dinner. Too bad. I thought I might want my pain meds before the pharmacy closed at 6:00. He went down again - nope not ready, still waiting for physician approval. Lots of confusion why I had the recording that said it would be ready at 5:00 - but then they said that message is from 'corporate' not local. WHAT? Forget it - I just staggered Tylenol and Advil every 3 hours per directions and will not get the pain meds at this point. What a circus.

Good Morning - TGIF For sure. Been "a week" here, but I made it!!
I feel out of it - in more ways than one! Beginning here - if I can catch up...
Sue: Glad the internet (Tuesday) wasn't a real issue - not off for long!
Jenny: Yikes! 34 degrees?? We've been 40s-50s in the morning, this week we have warmed up to mid 70s, but not truly "warm"! The sun is just not as warm any more I have been leaf blowing 40 minutes a day, just to keep them off the lawn as best I can. There are Just.So.Many.! I will have Jeff come do fall cleanup when they all fall off the darned trees. Yes, Fall is the time I get more exercise here too! Oh so nice of your niece to take the babies to visit GGrandparents.
Thanks - I still have a stuffy head - not sure how/why I got a cold!
Sue: Watery Wednesday went OK for me - back to my usual amounts! Yumm your lunch sounded good. Glad you can get 2 meals out of it. Oh dear... hoping Gloria can get her knee taken care of, and it all goes well. They won't replace her while she's out?? That's a LOT to put on 2 people for that long. Hoping you have had weather as nice as we've had this week.
Gabrielle: WOW to such an early start to your day Tuesday!! Oh I have been working from home. Tuesday I worked a part day, but been doing full days since then. With Emily gone and Deb out this week, I don't really have time to be "sick"! I actually worked OT yesterday to make up time from Monday. They gave us the go ahead to roll over up to 5 days again! So I don't want to use all my time. The 3 days I was supposed to be off this week - will come in handy for NC in March! I may change my Christmas week too - if they haven't replaced Em yet... looks like Ken may have a chance to go to FL in February, (Trade Show) so I'll need 2 - 3 days for that too! YES If he's going to FL in February - you can bet I am going with him! This couple may be folks we can hang out with more - as we retire. They are both not working - due to disabilities - call themselves early retired, so they have time (and money) to travel a LOT.
LOL Ken is looking at SW for flights to FL - and not impressed with prices! I don't get too involved until I know for sure we are going. He won't know the status of a FREE trip until December! So no flights booked yet!
Christine: Thanks for starting us off yesterday - Thinking FIRST is critical! I need to THINK & TRACK First... Hoping your surgery went well, I assume it was a day surgery? No overnight stay required? WOO HOO for having a CLEAN SLATE to head to Fulton County next week! What a guy! Glad the Prince was concerned over the time line for work - no worries about your health! What.A.Twit.! HOW has no one smacked him up side the head yet???
Good for YOU to take a step back and let the nurse make those calls! Hey she's getting the extra $$ - let her earn it.
Oh Yes, now I see out patient... yes, I am sure it felt like a long day! Hope you allowed yourself time to rest when you got home. {{{hugs}}}
Thank you - I can't decide if it's a cold-cold, or allergies. I think with my injections I should not have allergy symptoms, but then again... who knows!! With the dampness and all, the mold could be worse - and I have been out leaf blowing a LOT lately. That stirs up a lot of crap!
OK I will need to finish catching up later... time to clock in and get a little more time "made up".
Enjoy TGIF ladies - ♥hugs♥

Sue- have fun with your paint session tonight. A single peacock feather actually sounds lovely - pretty colors usually with plenty of purple and blues - FINALLY you get to see your Master Chef's event! That has been a long long wait. Today is the first day of the gloomy weather you had - I think ours is coming across the Great Lakes - cloudy today but still 70s with rains starting this afternoon through the weekend.
DD Linds is headed to her Homecoming later today. She's staying with good friends in their new house located in the town next over from their college. She's so excited for this Girls Weekend and reconnecting with her college friends. She seems to be feeling better, emotionally now. I know she is super embarrassed by her weight gain but she bought herself some new clothes to 'feel' better. We all agreed we need to get onboard with Moving More around here, including DH. So they agreed a Treadmill is what we need set up near the FR. Eye roll here - okay. As long at it gets used! Hopefully she finds one that folds up when not in use. They are checking out FB Marketplace. The story with Linds and Grad School all came to a head. It's just too much right now for her plus getting this full time Intense Family Therapy job. The timing is not right for her so she is withdrawing from classes, taking a year off to focus more on self-care, and will return to Grad school when she is in a better space. She has one year left and the University agreed to 'hold her seat' as long as she can finish the program within 5 years. DH thinks maybe next time around she should take ONE class per semester but then she would not be eligible for student loans. Maybe she can save enough $$ and not need a loan, especially by living at home and working full time. We will figure it out, but for now I think we are all relieved that she will loosen those expectations. It's not a race. I also think the Pandemic and whole COVID thing caused such awful emotional exhaustion for her and her friends. They never had closure from undergrad, they lost social contact, minimal jobs, and a lot of emotional unrest. Several other classmates are experiencing the SAME thing - lack of focus, lack of motivation, hitting a wall, and just out of sorts. So, we assured her we love her, we will support her decision but for pete's sakes let's get healthy! LOL

Carole - good to see you! I was a bit concerned when you mentioned your stuffy head and feeling like a cold. Maybe all that leaf blowing did kick something up - still, be mindful and if you don't feel an improvement take time to rest! Hooray for a potential trip to FL in FEB. Great time to get outta of the NE during the winter doldrums. What part of FL is the trade show? SW is tricky - you have to check for flights that are listed super cheap but realize only one way, then your return options are limited with usually higher fees and BAM! now you are paying full price for more $ than American or United. We have flown SW for years and currently have a voucher to use before next September. Only problem is they only fly out of major airports 2 hours from us. We discovered our little local airport is cheaper to fly out of then driving 2 hours, paying for parking fees or overnight hotel, and then having to drive back 2 hours after a long day of travel. I am hoping the prices out of Erie continue to be good and I'll fly to Wilmington, NC next March. I think I have to transfer in Charlotte or Washington D.C. ...either way the prices look good. I'll have to check out the group email what news Karen found out (Tony!) Have a great Friday everyone! I plan to rest, read, and maybe even see what daytime TV is like. Lindsey mentioned a new show playing Hulu or one of them called, "The Maid" I might check it out.

Good morning!
Oh yes, Friday at last! I am excited (and need to be sure to get a few pictures of the before) as the landscaper comes tomorrow. It has been a long time coming. Another LONG day at work (last meeting ends at 5:00 but that "really" means 5:30)....seriously, who gets a lot done on a Friday from 4:00-5:30?? I sometimes wonder what people are thinking. Anyway, making myself think forward and how happy I will be tonight. I think I am going to drive THE car to work today-- it is cold but clear and I think my days might be numbered in terms of dodging rain (which is a good thing really).
Christine: I was SO happy to see that you started us off hoping that you would report that things went well---sounds like it did! And two hernias? I think it must be a good thing that you got it all taken care of before the pain started, right? And such a good plan to set your alarm to stay on top of the pain meds...especially since you didn't have your REAL pain meds---wow, what a fiasco! It is interesting as you hear of people who easily (and legally) got their hands on way too many opioids and then there is someone like you who needs them and it becomes nearly impossible! Who knows though, maybe the lesser pain meds will turn out to be the better solution? So, do you have limitations on lifting, etc? I would think so..... Oh, so happy for Linds for her fun weekend coming up, for feeling good about what she is wearing, and for coming to some decisions about her masters program. We are hearing alot about our youth and the challenges they are feeling looking forward coming out of the pandemic. So glad that your family has good communication and she knows that you and Gary are there to support her. How nice it will be to have the TM....I do hope that people use it-especially when the weather turns poor. I have found it to be a great option in terms of gym equipment. The best part of the whole thing though is the family commitment to move more--- it always helps when everyone is on board! How is Carly doing with her new place with Ben...are they seeming to adjust to each others' habits? I know that it can be tricky! Hope that you continue to feel well and have a wonderful day!

Sue: Hope that you have a great day today--ending the week with painting sounds like the perfect ending for you! Oh, I am still thinking about that news you got from your mom and the mask issues....ugh! And great news about the Moderna booster! No, I didnt' know that. I am hoping that educators will be on the list soon as we were all among the first vaccinated and are 8-9 months out from our vaccines (right after medical/first responders). We will see. So glad that Jason is getting his! You know though, I am still so cautious that I think I am actually feeling pretty safe---I don't think twice and wear my mask everywhere, wash my hands all of the time (they are SO dried out still)....and we avoid crowds. Hope that you have a great day today and enjoy your evening and YES! So glad that you finally get to see the kids cooking show!
Carole: Good to see you and hope that you are feeling more connected now. Who knows about the runny nose, etc....I don't get a lot of allergies but have had them this year due to such dry air and all that is blowing around. In your case with SO much rain, there must be a lot of mold, etc. Just glad that you can work from home and take it easy. Sounds like you have a plan for those March days! Nice! I was able to register for the Catalina Marathon (March 12, 2022) yesterday and I am so excited. Here we go NOWHERE and I am looking at travelling to Catalina AND No. Carolina in March! Hoping that we find a good place and I can book the flight-a friend highly recommended Delta so that is probably the route I will consider. So will you have only Zoe tonight? Or maybe not if you don't feel up to it? I don't recall....does Eden dress up for Halloween? I know that it is right around the corner....hope that you have a good day!
Jenny: Enjoy your day off!
Hello to all who follow. I am going to get my lunch together and try to head in to work early. I have a conference call at 7:45 am so it would be nice to have some things done before the barrage of meetings (this is nuts: 7:45-8:15, 8:30-9:00, 9:00-12:00, 1:00-2:00, 2:00-3:00, 3:00-4:00, 4:00-5:00....can you BELIEVE this calendar?? Nuts. Anyway, see you all tomorrow morning!

Well...hopefully I just didn't get myself fired!! Tonya was yapping, yapping, yapping when I got here as usual!! Then a bit later I asked her what time she arrived and she said 6:30 and when I asked why she said "well I left early for the doctor so I'm making up time and Gloria is off today"...I lost it!! I blasted her...I told her that since when can we "make time up" for a doctor's appointment or being sick and not take PTO and funny how Gloria and didn't work any OT last week when she was off for 2 days and got everything done??? She said she had September billing to do and I told her..."we can do billing, we can do inventory but you don't let us know when you have done all the prep work, then you come in for overtime and make us look like slackers"! I told her I'm tired of her working all this OT because she is so busy! I told her she thinks she's the boss of this office but we are supposed to be a team yet she leaves us in the dark making us look stupid and lazy!!! I screamed "I'M TIRED OF BEING TREATED LIKE I'M STUPID"!! I even said if you worked as fast as you mouth ran, you would never be behind!! Yes....I let her have it!!
Well, she's been very quiet since them. I did apologize for the outburst and I emailed Rory and Mark to let him know what had happened so they don't get blind sided. Rory is Mark's boss and Mark is off today. She is starting to talk again and is actually working!!!
We'll see how this goes....

Jenny: OH NO! Sorry the racoon did damage to the car. Oh geeze, sounds like the day seemed to follow the same direction! Glad you have today off!!
Sue: NICE! Glad Gloria could schedule her TKR so quickly! Yes, holidays will give you a good break away from Tonya. You have a vacation around Christmas yourself don't you?? Oh I used to take those AZO pills for UTI - Hope Tonya is feeling better soon.
We are still not "peak" here either. I judge by a tree in my neighbor's yard. I LOVE when it turns bright orange - but this year it is still a dull green. OH I love my pellet stove - of course hauling pellets is a PITA... or back... or arms... at some point we will have to switch tot he smaller (more expensive) bags. I did my share... 50 bags (40# each) are not an easy chore to do!
HA! No - Crystal did NOT do my foreign checks this week... she was "too busy" - so I will send double next week! The turnaround for credit is short - so customers won't be impacted to much.
Oh yes - makes perfect sense that Gloria would get her surgery this year... meet the deductible and then slide through the surgery!! Good call on her part.
YES! Being off while Gloria is out will be good for Tonya! She can earn all the OT in the world - with no one to "watch"! LOL So glad they will still allow you your time off.
S-M-H... so sorry Jim and Annie seem to have no clue about Covid and DM... {{{hugs}}} Too bad she doesn't speak up to them about it.
Gabrielle: I will try to find the AirB&Bs that I had found earlier - my concern about waiting until after the first of the year - is to book flights for March! I'm thinking if we can find a Thursday - Monday Air B&B we should think about it?
Glad you are getting those planters done - and will enjoy them going forward. Always fun to leave it to someone else ;-)
OK Slowly getting back in the groove! Feeling better today - took my Zyrtec and it's helping.
TGIF - Deb will be back Monday so I get a bit of a reprieve!
Christine: Ouch! Glad you are icing the incision area - and good idea to sleep in the other room. Oh my... yes no point letting DH know you were not in pain! LOL I believe we do build up a higher tolerance of pain over the years. Yikes, 2 hernias to repair. Glad he could do it all at one time. Oh For heaven's sake... what a run-around for meds that you should have had! Glad you didn't need them - and glad you won't bother with them, but GEEZE, way to make a stressful situation even worse!!
{{{hugs}}} to you and Dh as you help Linds figure this out! I agree - it's not a race, and quite frankly this Covid Pandemic did a number on a lot of people... mind AND body!! I am glad she is taking the year off and will figure it out. WOO HOO for getting healthy - buying a TM, and with your healthier eating habits she's bound to get fit again! With one HUGE thing off her mind - it will fall into place for her ♥
LOL Yes, DH found "cheap flights" to FL in February then start adding the fees for bags - both checked and carry on - there's another $100.00 per person! The trade show is in Orlando. We'd fly late Thursday night or early Friday morning. Saturday evening the company is sending all registered guests to Universal for the night! We may have to cover some of the cost ourselves - depends on how much he orders in November! He earns points towards the trade show with his hardware orders! He said he won't order the last week of October so he can order double the first week of November! LOL We'll see... who knows if it will all work anyway - but it is worth thinking about! We will have to fly - rather than plan 2-3 extra days for driving.
OH I have heard "The Maid" is awesome!! It's about a woman who has been abused?? Unless I am mixing up what I have read!
Gabrielle: Oh I hope you took "the car" today. Hoping you get your rains soon! No girls tonight - I have to run to Wal-Mart so I said we'd get them both tomorrow. No point dragging Zoë to Wal-Mart! LOL I was saying the same thing - we travel a little, but SC in January, FL in February and NC in March? Way more than I am used to! Eden does dress up for Halloween - I think she will TorT with her homeschool co-op group. They go to the "nicer" neighborhoods! HA! I am pretty sure just because folks live in fancy houses, doesn't mean they give better candy! Anyway... we will have a family party here on Saturday so the kids can TorT Sunday.
Sue: oh dear... Sorry you "snapped"... but I do NOT think you will lose your job for being honest! I know... not the time/place/way, but Hey - it is what it is. {{{hugs}}} I know it's not easy to get back to normal after a blow up like that.

OK Time to get my list finished up. Ken should be home shortly and we can head out. I don't need a lot, but I know I won't feel like shopping tomorrow - after driving the girls home in the afternoon.
Football Sunday (4:25 PM) so it will be another long day. Having pulled pork and chicken with rolls. I have an assortment of rolls in the freezer - and will have others bring sides! We talked a little bit about it last week - but I assume I have to send an official invitation!
Work was fine today - I had my lunch hour with Anne (Grief Recovery) - She has had family stuff going on so we haven't chatted in about 3 weeks! Maybe 4 seriously can't remember! Anyway... then work went fine. I got my monthly reports done and out - so I guess Emily being gone and Deb out hasn't impacted my work day too much.
No real plans for tomorrow, we were going to carve pumpkins, but with these warmer temps, we may want to put that on hold for another week.
Oops, Ken is home, the list is not finished oh well - I also need shoes! I have been living in slippers this week. It's warmer outside than inside, so I need slippers to keep my feet warmer!
Have a great Friday evening everyone... I am voting for Subway for dinner! (instead of a sit down lengthy meal) ♥hugs♥
