Good morning WW friends. Slept well and grateful. Today I really DO need to make Hannaford's happen. Yesterday I was just too drained. I think it's stress that is making me so tired.
We are having chicken pot pie for supper. It's one of those 'already done deals' so easy peasy
LOL Pam I remember working with a gal that lived in the south...forget where....and when I said lets go to lunch and have a grinder she just stared at me. Once we went into the sandwich shop she realized what it was....too funny.
I don't blame DH for not wanting to see the wound. I'm not good with those kind of things either. Praying that it heals over nicely.
Cheeseburger soup sounds delightful. Happy that Debbie is back and you can walk in the morning.
Waving and wishing all a peaceful OP day.

Good Morning, WW Friends ~
TGIF!! I slept well and woke a little bit earlier than usual, so went back to sleep for another hour. That's what I love best about my days off! I have had my yogurt & blackberries w/F1 for breakfast and a couple of cups of coffee.
Ann ~ Glad to see you back this morning.
I don't have anything on my agenda today (yet). I packed away the rest of my capris when I got home Wednesday afternoon. I made room in my bedroom closet for some warmer tops. Since it is in the 50's this morning and promising to be a bonafide cool-down, it is none too soon.
BBL. Make a great day!!

Greetings from ESA. This is getting very old and DH has about had it with hotel life. He is super eager to get into the house as am I. Soon, we hope!
Ann, I am sorry you are feeling stressed. Hope you have a peaceful day. I think part of my restlessness has to do with anxiety about all the changes and living in limbo right now. Even though I go to bed early and sleep well, I am tired more often than not but keeping up fine.
Sue, you sound well covered about the COVID exposure. I hope you have put it out of your mind since it is over and done and nothing you can do at this point. We have COVID cases on campuses every week - I am not in contact with many students but I also feel I am covered very well between shots, boosters and even having had C-19 myself not just once but twice. Sheesh! Like Pam said, if you did get it for some freakish reason, you will be fine. Every night on the news, we shake our heads in dismay and a bit of disgust over those people on ventilators wishing they had gotten the shot. Montana has been highlighted as a very bad spot for it now.
Pam, it's funny because when Ann wrote grinder, I thought "I wonder if Sue and Pam know what those are." It is such a New England expression! :-) Yes, a grinder is a sub. We called them subs or Hoagies in Ohio and MO. Philly loves the hoagie name. I did not know a Po Boy was a grinder, though. I wish I could have your recipe for smothered Okra. I love Okra. Thanks for the name of the book.
I found a nice one I am reading in the time period post- WWI - sort of like a Maisie Dobbs British series. It is called This Side of Murder by Anna Lee Huber and a nice detective but not too violent series. I'm transported back to an island off the coast of England in 1919. Good escapism.
I booked a nail appointment for a pedicure only at the salon across the street from me. Taking a chance since it had good reviews. I need the ingrown toenail taken care of so I am headed there at noon.
The cleaning lady is due here momentarily so I have to vamoose with D&D. Have a good one today, friends!

Good morning all!
I slept deeply for 8 hours and spent a pleasant hour drinking coffee and chatting with DH before heading out on a walk with Debbie. Now, I have enjoyed some Blueberry Almond OO and am ready to head to the garden. I have 12 broccoli and 6 cabbage plants to get into the ground, as well as some marigolds and sunflowers of some sort to go into a flower bed.
Judy - I don't really have a recipe per se for smothered okra. I just get a microwave-safe bowl and cut the okra into pieces about 1/2 inch long. I add a chopped Roma tomato, some diced onion and one garlic. Salt, pepper and Tony's Seasoning to taste. Then add a TBS or so of olive oil, butter or light butter or a mixture of them. Microwave on high for 10 minutes, stir and cook another 5 minutes. Don't overcook it. You want it to be tender, but not slimy. DH likes more tomato and onion, while I like more okra with just a little tomato and onion. Experiment and see what you like.
Ann - Happy shopping! Glad you are feeling better. Feel free to unload your stress here. We're always ready to listen.
Sue - We're expecting a cool front tonight and that makes me SO happy. It should be 59 for my morning walk, but we're still a long way from putting away summer clothes. I have compromised by wearing less white and more colors. Enjoy your day off!

Back from a wonderful hood walk. I was twice blessed as the nosy nellies must have been enjoying a second cup of coffee as they weren't 'out and about' And Mr. B performed well Thanks. My stress is from having to wait so darn long to have 'the test'. I feel like a countdown is happening and when I have too much time on my hands...ie bedtime I think and think and think and my mind goes dark! Easier said than done to push it out of your head. But...I AM trying...with the help of God. I started out wearing a sweater and had to take it off mid walk. Our weather is supposed to get colder by Sunday and I SO welcome it. Maybe more of my flying friends will DIE OFF! Pam you are a whiz in the gardening department. I'd offer to come help but it wouldn't be pretty LOL. Happy your weather will be cooler also. LOL Judy yup, 'grinder' and 'packie' are totally New England things. I do remember saying I was going to the packie and was asked what I was mailing out! that cracked me up. I hope the cleaning lady does a super job. Just having to leave the premises with D&D would add stress to me. I can't begin to imagine how stressful it is living out of a hotel. ((((((((((hugs))))))))) Sue yes that's the upside of a day off. Having the luxury of staying put for extra shut eye. Enjoy your agenda free day. Only thing that I do want to accomplish is a trip to Hannaford's as we are very low on produce. After that??? Reading and trying to relax are in order. Waving and will CBL Nice to know we are all on the same page patiently awaiting COOLER temps

Thanks for the recipe, Pam. Once I get into the house and settled, I'll be making that smothered okra. I agree on not too mushy. Sometimes when I get it in different middle eastern dishes, it is a bit too mushy.
Ann, I am sure you are nervous about the tick test. When will you find out? Hopefully soon and with good results. I didn't know it took so long to get a test. Ugh. Hang in there! I also made a trip to Hannafords but a quick one for laundry detergent and ice cream. ha! Haagen Dass was on sale. If we buy the little containers, we are better off. Gotta have something to look forward to here in the hotel.
I had a long ride with D&D today. We went to the car wash, the gas station, Hebert's Candy Mansion for some of their Boo Bags for the kids in our life - friends and in case we are in the house. THey sell full size great chocolate for $10 for 10 big bars. We never have more than that and won't at the Cape either. Then, I ordered a new chandelier for the stairwell - very pretty statement type chandelier. We had been looking online for a while and the nice stores we used to like have closed. THere was a nice one on Chandler Street, Ann, but it is gone. I picked up a cup of broccoli cheese soup and a salad for dinner and a Chicken Greek Bowl for DH at the 99. It gets very old eating like this.
Good news is that the builder is nearly there. He told me he thinks we will be in the house by OCtober 28. I'll believe it when it happens but feel encouraged.
Have a great night all. Off to play ukulele and then watch the Red Sox in TX .

Oh, my pedicure at noon turned out great. I chose an autumn burnt reddish color. My ingrown was not a pretty site so glad that is done. Feels so much better and right across the street. One good thing is that everything is literally a stone's throw away here.

Test is scheduled for 11/2. Hate waiting but you need to wait 3 weeks. I'm just grateful I can have it done in her office rather than urgent care.
Don't blame you for wanting a treat. I didn't realize Herbert's Candy Mansion was still opened.
Enjoy your lesson and game.
I'm off to read.

Glad you got the pedicure. Which hotel are you staying in? That color sounds awesome.
