It was cold when I took the dogs out this morning. 43 degrees and 59 in the house. Not turning on the heat just yet but leaving the bathroom, kitchen and bedroom windows open and not opening the others until later, if then!
I noticed on Fred’s phone another of his golf buddies has cancelled for golf this morning. Not sure what he’ll do as it looks like there’s still three of them going. I told him he does not to pick up a cold a week before his surgery!
They did call yesterday to say even though he’s been vaccinated he still needs to get a Covid test Friday before his surgery. He did ask the nurse since the surgery is so early in the day is there any possibility he could go home the same day and she said no you still have to stay overnight to be monitored. Debbie did text asking if she could come and sit with me while the surgery is being done. He said sure if the hospital will allow it as it looked like they only allow one person to accompany you when he had the endoscopy and she said don’t worry about that as I’m an employee so they won’t kick me out! I thought that was so sweet as it’s an hour drive for her and pretty early in the morning. She said she would text me to find out where in the hospital I am. I hope she remembers that starting Sunday you have to dial the area code as well for local calls. Not sure how that will work for our landline as I removed long distance from it when we got our cell phone. If it doesn’t work we’ll get rid of the landline and get me a cell phone.

Fall is here this morning. 45 when I got up. Not to reach 80. Sunshine. Gonna run to the dollar store after awhile and stop at Braum's for take out burgers to take to Bill's. He is nursing his back. Heat and ice. Ageing is not for sissies.

Lucy: I am very guilty of most of the things on the list but particularly guilty of #2. My best friend who took me to lunch for my birthday in July bought me earrings and I put them in a "safe place". It is October and I still can't find them.
I had just a little over 4 hrs. sleep last night so the sandman must have forgotten me, Phyl. Maybe the list applies to the sandman also. Jim still in bed but he has coughed now and again so he'll probably be getting up for breakfast. Our ranch employee is going to walk Shana this morning for me since Bobbie won't be here. She is a sweetie and loves my dog. She and her brother both work here and Shana loves both of them and their children too.
See you all later for tuck in.

Oh, my goodness! That list is entirely too accurate!
Today is a good day to have the oven going, and I've been baking the mixes that I removed from the pantry last week. These were almost due. I have six chocolate muffins, six poppyseed muffins, and I have one white cake mix to go. It's pretty old (2017), so it may not rise.
The sun is shining, but our weather person said we would have trouble making it to 60Âş today. I wonder if my geranium was frosted last night?
Hope to be back later. Take care! ~~Mollyann

I had a gold star, or at least a silver, memory lapse this morning. We had gone to Home Depot shopping & when I got in the car afterwards I couldn't find my clip-on sunglasses. I was frantically looking for them in all the familiar places as DH was driving to WalMart. I was about to ask him to go back to HD so I could look for them when I touched my glasses. Yup, I already had them on! Talk about feeling stupid - I took the prize.
Connie, thanks for reminding me about leaning forward to empty my bladder. I had been referred to a GYN specialist a few years back to see what could be done about the prolapse. To empty better she had told me to make a fist, place it over the bladder area & lean forward. I don't always have any luck doing that so had sort of forgotten about trying again. We were traveling at the time so I wasn't interested in surgery, which was the suggested solution.
I got all my outside work fall done this afternoon - with Don's help. I still have four potted plants on the deck to take care of later. That won't take long to finish up. Now I'm ready for whenever the contractor crew shows up. DS & Don have to put the patio furniture in winter storage.

Hi!
This morning, I went out for breakfast! Hooray! No coughing! I'll take it easy and stay away from perfumes and sprays for several days though, so that means church is iffy.
Today is another football day, so that will occupy all DH's day and part of mine. We had a hot dog as we watched the first game, and we'll have soup for the second. This is leftover, and I've added tomato sauce to it for tonight. I want some corn bread, but it isn't quite cool enough to bake.
I have already finished the first grocery order of the week -- the one we will pick up Monday, so my chore for the day is finished.
Hugs! Diane

I put clean linen on the bed today and that's all I accomplished. I turned on the heat this morning. Last night my neighbor across the cul de sac who I have never seen in the eight years I have been living here came pounding on my door yelling, "I need to call 911!" She has dementia or Alzheimer's and a caretaker. She said that she's driving me crazy...so I called 911 and let her talk to the police. Then I called my neighbor who kind of knows the situation and she came over. My neighbor went and got the caretaker and the caretaker took her back home just as the police came. They diffused the situation somewhat. It was scary! I did not sleep well last night.

The grocery list one is not a problem for me. I have a photographic memory when I write things down, I remember them. One week I read my list from my mind at the store but I had crossed out one item and scribbled something on top of that item. I remembered the one I crossed out but couldn't read (in my mind) the new scribbled one so I called home and told Jim to go to the refrigerator and read my list. I told him when he saw the crossed out one to please read me the scribble around it. He had trouble reading it so I told him to give me as many letters as he could read so he did and believe it or not I was able to figure out the missing item. He read enough of the letters for me to figure it out. That certainly has been a blessing for me.
Nancy: My hubby has some bad moments like that. One morning he asked "Why are you being such a bitch?" -- and my answer to him was "Because I'm dealing with a bastard!" and I walked out of the room. That sure shut him up!...LOL
Today was a verrry quiet day with Jim getting up for 2 meals, both very late....breakfast about 11AM and lunch after 3PM.....He's still not up for dinner so if he does get up he will get a pot pie....I cook in microwave for 6.5 minutes. I can handle that.....
Tucking you all in now in our BLANKETS WHICH ARE BROWN WITH A HUGE SMILING PUMPKIN IN THE MIDDLE.....sweet dreams!
