Good morning WW friends. Slept well and grateful. No pesky dreams to wake me.
Nothing on the agenda today which is fine with me. I shall read and do my thing
It's Sunday, so it's pasta day here in town!
We got together with Linda and Mike last night and had a ball. Just as we came home it started to pour so we didn't bother to sit in the screen room. Perhaps tonight.
Waving and wishing all a pleasant happy and OP Sunday.

Good Morning, WW Friends ~
Happy Sunday!! We have a beautiful day out my window, but cooler than normal. When I got up this morning it was 44 dg outside! It was also only 66 in the house, so I turned on the furnace. DH had inspected it and got it ready a few weeks ago. I have it automatically set at 69, so the added heat felt good indeed! It has continued to come on intermittently, so it is very welcome!
Last night I turned on our electric blanket early but DH said it wasn't as warm as the previous night when he crawled into bed. Hmm.... then I remembered we went to bed an hour early (at 9 p.m.). There was nothing on TV we wanted to watch and we both were sleepy, so it seemed like a good idea. I also slept in until 7:30 this morning, so I feel much better rested today than yesterday (when I was sort of dragging).
Ann ~ So happy to hear that you are feeling better! Have a wonderful Sunday!!
We have had breakfast; mine consisted of a HB egg and banana. I plan to have a cup of veggie soup for supper. We are meeting DBIL for lunch, and I am leaning toward the Michigan salad (again) as I enjoyed it very much the last time I had it at this restaurant.
BBL. Make a great day!!

We also had to run the heat earlier and have it set to come on. So far it hasn't kicked in LOL. Carl realized that he didn't have milk (for himself) and cream for his coffee so he's off to pick that up. I am not a milk drinker and take my coffee black so I'm not in the habit of writing that down. It totally slipped his mind when he was out the other day. Luckily Hannaford's is just down the street. I opted to pass on that 'outing' LOL. It's the stress of waiting for the blood test that is wearing me down more than anything else. I came to that conclusion and it did ease my mind a tad. Enjoy lunch with DBIL and that delicious Michigan salad I know you will. I shall TRY to pop into the cafe later on...if I don't make it waving to Pam and Judy and will see y'all tomorrow.

Hi friends,
I hope everybody had a nice weekend. Ours was fairly eventful.
We went to the Cape yesterday to check on progress. Basically, and everything is done except for a lot of small things but they all add up. While we were there a guy showed up to install the glass tile shower stall in the master bathroom. Also the HVAC guy showed up to finish up his work. Today the gutters were put on the house. We had a very enlightening conversation with the HVAC guy who told us that our builder has been working full-time for several months further down the Cape for a high-end homebuilder as a project manager. This explains so much to us. Our house was probably what he considered a little side job. He also told us that the builder has a very hard time getting along with people and generally on every house he builds he loses one or two subcontractors for good. Not the best news, but no shock there. My DH has had issues with him, too, and he’s very experienced working with all kinds of contractors for over 40 years. But, we are pushing the builder and moving ahead. We have hired an independent home inspector to come out in two weeks to give us a full report of anything he sees that might need fixing. I think I threw the builder for a bit of a loop when I mentioned that I knew he had been very busy with other projects but I hope that he would pay attention to the details to finish ours within the next two weeks. He was shook and called me later to profess his much he cares about our job etc. That felt insincere. I repeated my prior comments to him about the cost of living day to day in this place. Overall, the house looks beautiful and the HVAC guy did tell us what a good builder he is despite personality issues. I guess some of this is to be expected but I feel he could be more honest with us. That’s the part that bothers me the most. However we hold the cards with the final payment so he’ll need to finish up before he sees any more money.
Today was laid back. We watched football and baseball and took a ride to the apple orchard for cider and a few apples and DH was dying for apple crisp! Dinner was Panera soup and salad that I picked up at Hannafords. We had a sub from Jersey Mike’s for lunch and just coffee for breakfast.
Last night we ate at our favorite Cape place. DH had pistachio crusted haddock and I splurged on prime rib. It was so good!!!!
The dogs and I took a nice walk today. Weather was beautiful. I’m enjoying my British mystery book. Nearly done!
TTFN- time to flip laundry. Thankfully the laundry room is two doors down. There are many conveniences here so that helps.

Good evening!
I woke early yesterday, as Debbie and I planned to walk, however, by the time I got up I had 5 text messages from her which did not bode well. Her DH had come in at 4:00 pm Friday, after working in the yard all day, to say he felt terrible. Debbie is an RN, so went into nurse mode. He had fever which steadily went higher even with tylenol and a shower. At 8:30 PM it was 103.5 and they headed to the emergency room. He was admitted to ICU and diagnosed with sepsis of unknown origin and started on IV antibiotics. Unfortunately, they have still not pinpointed the source of infection and he still has fever and started vomiting this afternoon. Debbie suspects it may be an infection in the artificial aortic heart valve he had placed several years ago. Please say a prayer! We are very worried about Pete.
I was so tired yesterday, when Debbie cancelled, I decided to rest up a bit. Other than watering plants, I didn't do much in the garden. I still managed to get quite a bit done around the house. I made some apple/persimmon muffins which turned out well and attended a Catholic Daughters' rosary for life at noon. DH and I went to town and picked up his prescription and a few groceries and stopped by DD1's for a short visit. Jude had just left to pick up a date for a homecoming dance in a nearby town. The girl's boyfriend broke up a week before the dance leaving her high and dry and a mutual friend brokered a deal for Jude to take her to the dance. DD said he was very nervous as he didn't know the girl well and they were to eat out at a high end restaurant in BTR first. Of course, while we were there Abby begged for a sleepover, so we brought her home with us.
We watched an Addams Family cartoon after dinner and Abby and I read several books and played games until bedtime. She came to Mass with me this morning. It was National Catholic Daughters Sunday, so we sat with the other CDA members and attended a breakfast after Mass. After we got home, we played several games of Monopoly Junior and then had lunch. The pecans have been falling, but I have been so busy in the garden, I haven't had time to pick them. Abby wanted to help, so we picked quite a bit using the picker basket and by hand. DH came out and sat on the swing and sorted pecans from the shells and leaves the picker picks up with the nuts. Abby helped with that and then she and DH cracked quite a few. We took a break and she and I came in and made several batches of overnight oats for this week--carrot cake, pina colada and cherry almond. Then she went back to helping Pop with pecans, picking the nut meat from the cracked shells until it was time to take her home.
We had hamburgers, air fries and salad for dinner and it was very filling. Lunch for me was leftover red beans, rice and sausage, though I wasn't very hungry after indulging in a biscuit, muffin, grits and scrambled eggs with sausage and cheese at the CDA breakfast + a mimosa. We ate out at Hottails Friday night and I had a couple beers, a cup of seafood gumbo and grilled veggies & shrimp, though I was so full from the gumbo, I brought most of my entree home and had it for lunch on Saturday. We had ham and mac & cheese Saturday night and by Sunday morning, the scale was up 1 1/2 lbs. between the sodium and the carbs. I'm dreading tomorrow's WI! I will ratchet things down and all will be well in a couple of days, I'm sure.
Tomorrow is laundry day, we have errands and DH has wound care at 10:00, so it will be a busy day. We're planning to bring donuts and coffee to Debbie at the hospital, since it is right across the street from wound care. DH has already turned in and I am not far behind. All the fresh air and sunshine makes me sleep well.
Sue - We finally got another cool front, though not as strong as yours. We didn't have to run AC at all today and it was 52 when Abby and I went to Mass at 8:00 AM. I hope it holds for a few days.
Ann - I'm glad you got to have your visit with friends before the rain started. I like milk and used to drink quite a bit until WW decided it was 3 SP. Now, I just have it in my morning coffee.
Judy - Hopefully, your "heart-to-heart" with the builder will light a fire under him and things will finally get finished. My experience has been that all contractors--carpenters, plumbers, electricians, etc.--never seem to work as quickly as they claim at the outset and are famous for not showing up when expected. I do realize, they are generally coordinating several projects at the same time, so they don't waste time and money waiting on someone else to complete other tasks so they can move to the next thing. Still, it is very frustrating and often, as in your case, very expensive for the entity who is paying for all of it.
Wishing all a restful, peaceful night!
