Chele, how's the arthritis doing today? Hope you have lots of plain leftovers to keep leveling off that inflammation. I'm not much for spicing things up, so I eat pretty plain most of the time as well. I hadn't heard about the fistfights at pro football games, but I'm not surprised. Several years ago some Dodgers fans beat a Giants fan at a game in LA and gave the guy permanent brain damage. So those kinds of things have been going on for a while, but it's getting worse.
That's insane about not being able to get a 90 day supply of your eye drops, Kathy. If your doc writes it for 90 days, it's ridiculous that the insurance company can counter that. They have more power than they they should. My dry eye has been really bad this week for some reason. I noticed yesterday I was using drops more frequently, but I had to review the Zoom recording from the MG meeting and noticed how I seemed to be constantly blinking, squinting, and having other kinds of eye movements. I decided to switch from my regular drops to preservative-free to see if that will help. From what I've seen, you won't have to renew Starz for Outlander until next year. I hadn't heard that the cheerleaders and the Pride of the Southland Band left the game early on Saturday. But I definitely don't blame them for getting out while being hit with junk. Maybe they will chain down the condiment containers so they can't be carried off from the vending area. Did you hear that the fired ex-football coach claims he's going to smear the entire UT athletics program if they don't settle with him for $12.6 million?
Linda, how are you doing today? Is your weather warming up yet? Not surprised on the flannel sheets. You acclimate to your environment, so you react differently than when you lived in NY. We used our heated mattress pad when we lived in TX and about froze the first couple of years after we moved to NC. Congrats on rearranging closets and tossing some things you don't need.
Hump Day, Liz. I hope your week is going well.
Becky, I saw an article about TDOT proposing to turn I-35 through downtown Austin into a 20 lane highway. That's just way too scary. But what's even more scary is how that area tends to ice up in the right conditions, making it so much more hazardous than right now. I told Dale if we still lived there, I would be taking the toll roads, which it seems a lot of people are too cheap to do right now. We stayed off I-35 30 years ago because it was too crazy. I can't imagine what it's like now. How are your business ventures going?
The day after MG meeting is usually filled with a lot of emails, but that seems to be continuing into today for some reason. It looks like we're back on for the awards dinner in early December and I am waiting to hear back from one venue and trying to convince another that there needs to be a vegetarian option on the menu. We're getting pretty close to crunch time and need to get something finalized. Really ready to give up the presidency.

Karen, I think the pharmacy was trying to save me money by using a manufacturer's coupon and somehow that wasn't working with the insurance for 90 days. What really ticked me off is that they somehow thought my insurance wouldn't cover the drops and contacted the doctor for an alternative without contacting me. That snarled things up for about a month. Trying preservative free drops should help some. I really like Blink for Contacts and use them even when I don't have contacts in. TheraTears in the individual vials are also good. I've heard Systane is good too, but haven't tried it. The prescription drops also help with inflammation, which the OTC ones don't really do. I tend to like Mexican food, chili and some soups a little spicy, but not extreme. I hadn't heard about the ex-coach threatening to smear the UT athletics program. That sounds like it could get pretty nasty, but it doesn't seem like they should give in to threats like that. Do you have any plans for your free time once you're no longer MG president? I'm sure it will be less stress. I started seeing vegetarian options on our work functions even back in the 80s and 90s, so I'm surprised that's still an issue. Then again, you are in TN, land of BBQ and Southern cooking!
Waving to everyone. Hope you have a good day.

Hope the arthritis calmed down. Mine did once the system passed through.
crazy on the eye drops.
The road proposed in Austin sounds insane. Lone of our six lane freeways past Scottsdale had a fiery crash that closed it all night this week. They made radar control tickets illegal and people speed like maniacs in it.
finally got through that plateau and lost a pound. That makes six in 11 weeks. I really do not look thinner except in shoulders , but clothes finally fit again.

Kathy, it was nice of the pharmacy to try to save you $$, but there is something not right about bypassing you when they didn't think the insurance company would pay for what was prescribed. You mentioned the 3 brands of preservative-free individual vials I have on hand. I am almost out of Systane and bought the other 2 to try. I usually use Blink in the multidose container and like it. I have also used one called Refresh that is good but their preservative-free is a little pricier than the others. I wonder if Pruitt will end up shooting himself in the foot and he'll be unable to get another coaching job because nobody will want to deal with that kind of employee. No definite plans for the post-presidency free time. Dale will be retiring a few months after so we'll have to negotiate a bit on his pickelball time and the things he wants to do. I would like to start hiking again. I will stay involved in MG but plan to talk with him about whether he wants me to do something that will take little chunks of time during the year or mostly one huge chunk like heading up the fair committee. I will have no problem getting in my required 25 hours, but may not continue with the 100+ hour years (I'm around 230 for 2021 so far).
Congrats on the loss, Linda. If the clothes are fitting better, something is going in the right direction. That's bizarre that radar control tickets have been declared illegal. I guess people would rather take a chance at getting killed or injured vs. actually having to slow down. We have some speedways around here and I have to go on about 10 miles of one on my Thursday trip. Speed limit is 65, but I am frequently going about 70 and get passed like I'm standing still.
Chele, I forgot to mention that the veggie soup turned out well. I added kale, mushrooms, and some cherry tomatoes, so it's very nutritionally rich in addition to being tasty.

Thanks for the start, Karen. I am sure it will be a relief not to be president. There is always so much to do. It's, at the least, a part time job. The veggie soup sounds delish. I ate leftovers from yesterday. The inflammation seems a little less today. I have used the TheraTears and liked them. I hope you get some relief.
Kathy, when I was with the ladies club, the monthly lunches were a nightmare. We needed vegetarian, vegan, dairy free and gluten free options. Try getting all that in Dayton! Here have a carrot stick. 😒 The drops I have for glaucoma last me more than a month but CVS insists on refilling it every month. I tried to get them to wait until I called for it but then they just kept texting me. It’s less annoying to go get it until the prescription runs out and then wait before I ask the ophthalmologist for a refill. The drops won’t expire for awhile and I will be through them before then.
Linda, congrats on looser fitting clothes. Is Bob still sticking to his diet? Were you finally able to get some answers on his tests from the doc? Years ago I had to pick my DB up from the Indianapolis airport. They nad expanded it to about 10 lanes each way in that area so the airport could be accessed more easily. I almost had a heart attack navigating my way through that. I made DB drive to Kokomo and back to the airport when it was time to leave, so I only had to do it twice.
Today was Iggy’s birthday. He met his work wife for lunch and they had sushi. We celebrated here all weekend, so I was not jealous. Besides I was glad for a few hours to myself. Tomorrow I need to go to the grocery. That’s one job I haven’t given up. Like Dale, Iggy is an impulse buyer. He goes down every aisle even if there is nothing we need on the list in that aisle. I shop like Karen. I only buy what’s on the list. This is why we can’t shop together. He says I rush him. And it’s true. I do.

Happy birthday to Iggy.
I like to look around at Costco and if Bob goes along it is no fun because it is get what we came for and go.
