This is a thread devoted to those in their 50s, 60s, 70s and beyond who don't have children or grandchildren but live rich, full lives. Please feel free to join our stroll thru life and come back often for support and to share. ******************** Up early with the sinus drip. Decided not to go to Kroger. Not because I feel bad, but because I canāt breathe through me nose and I donāt want to be in a š· when I canāt breathe right. Any other year I would be out and about.
FDC says we can mix and match Covid manufacturerās vaccine booster. Our PCP only has Moderna and couldnāt give Iggy a booster a couple of weeks ago because we had the Pfizer shots.
I guess it will leaf raking day for me. The first curbside leaf pickup is Nov 8. We are too slow and there are too many leaves to leave it all to the weekend before. A pile of leaves in front of the house usually keeps anyone from parking there and blocking the mailbox. š
Have a good Thursday to all you mission oriented shoppers and all you browsers.

Chele, Happy (late) Birthday to Iggy! Hope he had a good one. Once you plan for all those dietary restrictions at the ladies luncheons, there isn't much left! There's probably someone allergic to carrots too. I have the same issue with refilling another type of drop where they want to do it every month, but they last longer. I do the same as you and just let them fill since they're good for a long time. They're still saying 65+ or other conditions for the booster shots but I saw where the FDA will probably recommend them for 40+ before too long. What is this leaf raking thing you speak of? I do have to sweep oak leaves off the front porch, but that's about it. Sinus problems do make wearing masks extra fun. Hope yours aren't too bad today. I woke up with a sinus drip too. It's been a bit windy here and dry, so a lot of pollen in the air. Linda, I try to weigh just once a week since the fluctuations can be frustrating. You're doing great if your clothes are fitting better! I've noticed my clothes are a lot more comfortable with the losses this year. Hope you enjoyed the breakfast.
Karen, I've used Refresh drops too and they're good. You're in a great area for hiking, so that would be nice if you could do more after your MG term is up. Hope you have a good Osteo session.
Liz and Becky, hope you're having a good week.

Thanks for the start, Chele. I told Dale yesterday that maybe I should have waited on the booster until I could have gotten the Moderna. Nice that there is now a choice. How did the raking go today? I hope that didn't make breathing even more difficult than it already was. I wish I was close enough that I could bring the truck and haul off your leaves to use as leaf mulch. Happy Belated Birthday to Iggy. I hope he had an awesome day!
Linda, sorry you, too, are fighting allergy issues. I hope the French toast was amazing and you enjoyed the get together. I haven't had French toast in ages. Don't worry about the lb. It won't hang around for long. I agree with Kathy on the frustrations of fluctuations and I also try to weigh just once a week. With the IBS I've been dealing with, it's about finding the day where I feel the lightest.
I heard, too, the age would be lowered "soon" on boosters, Kathy. Not too many better places to hike than here. And, not just for GSMNP. We have a couple of good state parks within an hour of home as well. Feeling even better about transitioning out of MG after I got an email last night that said we have a person agreeing to serve as president. It's actually the person I succeeded when I took over in 2020. She has served as president for 3 or 4 years, so lots of experience. I had one new high at Osteo, but the leg press was a lot lower than it has been for some reason. I was also surprised by the lack of a vegetarian option on the menu at the place we are considering. They have a vegetable plate on the lunch group menu, so perhaps they think even vegetarians eat meat for dinner š.
Traffic wasn't bad today but did have some rain. Gym also wasn't particularly crowded. I needed to drop some door prizes off for the craft fair this weekend (I'll be working tomorrow morning/afternoon). I was early enough that I was able to stop at Earth Fare before Osteo, so I got home early, which was very nice. More rain this evening.
šāāļøšāāļø to the rest of the gang!

Good afternoon chicks and thanks for the start Chele! Chele - sorry you woke up with the sinus drip this morning; they are so frustrating. Happy Belated Birthday to Iggy; hope it was a nice lunch with the work wife. Mask wearing with sinus issues is terribly uncomfortable to say the least. Lots of colds and sinus issues running through the schools and the hospital lately. The temperature roller coaster we've been on isn't helping any; one day truly an autumn day and days like today where it's 75. St. Crazy is back to being crazier than usual with the ER jammed and all 3 overflow units hopping. Medical issues not Covid thank goodness. Staffing is insane and we're all being asked to volunteer whenever we can. Had the tests on Tuesday but with a major problem with the prep so the read wasn't sufficient and I will need to go back again. Lesson learned; do not give me Golytely as the prep; you can't drink while throwing up! How's the autumn produce doing in your area? Lots of apples and farmer's markets popping up once again up north which is nice to see. Kathy - the same thing you and Chele go through with the pharmacy, Gary goes through as well. I have been mostly fortunate that my meds go through mail so they don't bug me too much other than to remind me when to refill. Was chuckling about the oak leaves you've been sweeping off the porch. We have huge piles of leaves and needles from the trees falling at a fairly good clip now. The colors haven't changed as soon as normal due to the crazy warm weather. Sorry about the nefarious sinus drip! Great that your clothes are fitting and feeling better. Linda - hope you enjoyed the french toast and congrats on the losses. I agree with Karen that the pounds will be gone before you know it! How are the knees doing? I will try to schedule my Gel-one shots for next month hopefully. Met with a nutritionist this afternoon to help me with some of the stomach issues and we're working on a plan. Staying optimistic that it will help my gut and my weight as well. Great job on the losses! Karen - I had to look up pickleball but it does look interesting. I am sure you will figure out your next project without too much trouble. Congrats on the new best and don't worry too much about the leg presses. It might be from the varicose issue and the leg coming back with better blood flow now hopefully. Waiting on biopsy results from the tests and then it will be a few weeks probably until she wants to reschedule another one. I'm still not feeling right, not bad just not right at this point. Even my appetite is diminished which is always a tell. What's going on with the fair this weekend? Do you have many plants to sell? How are Dale and Arya doing? Gary has been taking it easy and playing some gold here and there. He's done a few things around the house but still has quite a few projects to start on when the mood hits him. Zoe has been tough to feed lately; not wanting anything I'm putting down for her. This morning she finally ate her breakfast which was good; I had boiled some boneless chicken breasts and at least she ate that. She's losing weight but will still eat her treats; the little wench . It's a tough spot to be in to get a place booked now and find vegetarian options; apparently y'all are carnivores more often than not. Waving to Becky and Denise. Hope you all have a safe and good evening. Take care and be well from the land of over-crowded mostly masked sub-way riding insanity! Ciao for now~

lizzyr092, hope you are ok and you do not have to fill in much. Karen, great to find a person for your job! French toast was good , but one person not usually there got in a non-stop negative rant about her daughter, daughter's ex, present spouse, other Relatives. We had some good conversation but two people at end got into their own, and the ranter and the other older person started in on how they are ready to die and people are awful these days and do not discipline their kids.. I came away feeling really down. dsil calledā¦son has been sick and exposed and had test today. She has had a cold, so had to test and quarantine also. Her husband was supposed to work in a spice store part time but staff is low and he is on 48 hour week. Her daughter thinks she found a lump in a breast. So she was desperate to talks out anything else ā¦two hours! Trying new recipe, GERman paprika chicken casseroleā¦lots of onions, peppers, garlic, spice a d sour cream sauce in the oven.
