Good morning friends. Slept well and grateful. Yesterday was a day with NO DRAMA for which I was most grateful. Finished my silly series by Liz Talley and now will go through the kindle downloads to start another. I'm sure there will be a lot of deletes involved
Need to make a quick pit stop to Hannaford's unless Carl offers to go solo. I'm good either way.
Tonight we are having hotdogs and beans. I'll expect the scale to tip upward due to the sodium. It happens!
So very happy to hear about DH's foot improvement. God is good. Nice you got your walk in with Debbie and are enjoying the Chosen. Win win that it's FREE Will keep your friend Dee in my prayers. I can so relate to sinus/allergies. Spring and fall are the pits!
Waving and shall CBL

Good Morning, WW Friends ~
TGIF!! I woke to temps in the 30's this morning. Our weatherman says the warm spell we have been enjoying was not typical for this time of year, and we can expect to return to the norm. Rats!! We were all enjoying our afternoons in the 70's. But I guess when it's time, it is time!!
This was a very productive week for me. Monday I did our Costco shopping after school, then Wednesday I dropped off 3 big bags at the Thrift Store and did our Meijer shopping. Thursday afternoon I made a trip to Sam's Club after school and snagged a rotisserie chicken and a few items we only find there. Costco was out of toilet paper (which I heard the previous week at the salon) but I was able to get a big pack at Sam's Club (limit 1). Why, oh why, are we doing this again??
Yesterday morning I woke very early to a terrific rainstorm, followed by thunder and lightening. It opened up and poured! So I decided I wasn't going to the Fitness Center and get soaking wet on the way to school. In the end I was glad I didn't go, because I had enough energy left at the end of the day to do our Sam's Club shopping.
When I got home yesterday I washed & dried all our clothes and now we're ready for a new week(end). Today is blessedly FREE but I may do a bit of cleaning around here. Tomorrow morning I have an appointment to donate blood at a local Red Cross drive. I hope it goes better than last time, when the nurse blew my vein and left me with a huge bruise (and no blood donated). One can only hope. Then tomorrow evening we have a Retrouvaille meeting that we plan to attend across town after meeting up with our young couple for an early supper at Logan's Roadhouse. We used to have one near us, but DBIL recently told me they had closed and when i checked.....sure enough! But there is one near the church where the Retrouvaille meeting is being held. We have a gift card for there that we hate to waste. As restaurants are closing we already 'lost' one gift card.
I have been slowly but surely cleaning off our patio. We got rid of all the flowers a couple weeks ago and I put some tables away, just leaving the bare bones for us to be able to sit outside. We hope to still get to use the fire pit before putting it away. It was too hot this year to enjoy it in the evenings, and it would be nice to catch up.
Ann ~ Glad to hear you got your electricity issue all fixed.
Judy ~ Hope you have good news about the new house.
Pam ~ Great news on DH's foot!! I know you are relieved!
BBL. Make a great day!!

Sue you have been extremely busy and got a lot accomplished. Dontcha love that feeling ? Nice that you are using up all those restaurant gift cards before they close. Enjoy your meal out. I really hope you enjoy your FREE day. Noting quite like a day with no agenda and just make up things as you go along your merry way. It's beautiful here once again. Took a walk but cut it short as they are replacing quite a few driveways in our retirement community making it difficult to walk and dodge traffic. In a bit we'll leave for a quick Hannaford/Walmart run. I discovered that the bath rug in the spare bathroom is coming apart. I took a sample to see if I can match it up. If not, I'll just get two new ones. Easy peasy. Waving and will CBL

Hi All ~
Just checking back in. I have been busy around the house, which is all cleaned now. I also washed the towels and rehung them - bathroom and kitchen plus the backs of our chairs.
I received a text from the American Red Cross that due to a staffing shortage, tomorrow's blood drive has been cancelled. WHAT!?! Nope, seriously ...... I also looked on their app for an appointment at their Center which is not far from home, but it shows all appointments are taken. Hmmm.... I was responding to a cry for help on TV about the current blood shortage, but I guess staff not wanting to work takes precedence. So sad for those patients who need transfusions. I will keep trying to find a spot somewhere. Sorry to sound like a downer.
On a brighter note, I received a mailer from Blue Cross/Blue Shield about receiving gift cards for having certain medical tests done. I called and reported my mammogram, and my flu shot, and she added on another one for my Fitness classes for a total of $75 in gift cards and I chose Meijer since I shop there. When I complete my Annual Wellness Exam next month and call back, I will receive another $25. Pretty cool ......
It never did hit 50, but the sun is out and so I think I will venture out for a walk. I plan to grill some tilapia for supper tonight with some kind of rice and veggies.
Have a great afternoon!!

That is very cool Sue. Your supper sounds tasty and healthy.
Bet it feels good to have the housework complete.
Enjoy your walk.
I did go for one walk and did laundry.
Low energy day for me and I'm just going with it.
If I don't get back to the cafe see y'all on the flip side.

Ann, glad you had a drama free Friday! Wish I could say the same. I had a busy work day but a stressful evening after a tense conversation with the builder who lashed out at me for absolutely no reason. He flipped out when I told him we’ll have an inspection next week. He swore at me and worse. No one has ever spoken to me the way he did with no provocation. I did not understand at all. I hung up. There’s no excuse for his horrible behavior because I’ve bent over backwards to get along and treat him professionally. We are his customers after all. We’ve come to realize that he has serious issues with explosive anger and many problems with subcontractors. I’ve pretty much had it with him. We’ve paid every invoice right away and abided by all terms of the contract. My DH deals with all kinds of contractors and has built nuclear plants and big power plants but he says no one has ever been this difficult. Oh well, it is nearly over. He told us that he’s a recovered alcoholic but I am not convinced he has stopped drinking. He yells and screams and takes no responsibility for his being so far behind schedule. I felt so bullied. The good news is that the house is beautiful and nearly done. Thank God. He’s really all a tempest in a teapot but it’s upsetting. It started out so great. We have used lots of contractors over the years without any issues.
Today I had to go into work because I forgot to get my Covid test yesterday so I needed to do that to stay in compliance. I brought the dogs along for a ride. Then I worked from the hotel and did laundry. We had fish and chips for dinner from a nice local place. Very good haddock.
I spent about an hour chatting on FaceTime with DD and Sophie. Sophie was showing me her Cruella DeVille costume and wig. She looked adorable and our Dd is going as a Dalmation. Sebastien has not decided on his costume and he’s a busy little wild man! Hardly time to chat on FaceTime. Our NJ grandson will be Mickey Mouse and even the new baby will be Goofy I think! We’ll be in NJ next week.
I’m sorry I can’t do any personal notes tonight. Hopefully tomorrow!!! Night all.
