Doing the program
We are about to start a review of the Beck book: The Beck Diet Solution by Judith Beck. We are doing it at a fast pace, the forward/introduction, chapter 1-4 plus 11 & 12 are done one per day as is each day of the 42-day program. Donāt let this discourage you. If you end up just being able to lurk that is fine, but if you have the time please post. It is the input from the posters that make the review work.
As for doing the work she assigns in the book that is up to you. I know all that work is part of the Beck experience and doing the work makes the process come together for people, but I am concerned about people getting overwhelmed and giving up. I am big about people staying to the end even if they are just lurking. Going through the whole program gives you a good overview and you can see how the pieces fit together. You can always work on the book at your own pace once the review is over.
We have topics Monday, Wednesday, and Friday during the time between reviews and can go back and revisit some of the Beck topics and give them more time. For example, Day 26 is about the āthinking mistakesā during the review we cover all nine of them on the one day, after the review we have each one of the thinking mistakes as a topic for one day. Between reviews we are always open to topic suggestions.
