Good morning friends. Slept pretty well and for that I'm most grateful. Woke up to pouring rain and it's supposed to rain all day long!
Pam, happy DH got his booster. It was a long wait for us as well...even with an appointment! You had a busy day. Glad your lasagna meal was quick and easy Nice that you slept so well. That makes such a huge difference.
Our PCP exams were over 2 hours long. We both have tests to go for plus I will have my blood work done when I go for the tick test on the 2nd of November. That way I'll get all my 'jabs' done at once.
It was a very emotional visit as she asked about LuLa and also wanted me to fill in all the details of my breast cancer and double mastectomy. By the time I got out of there I felt emotionally and physically drained.
Today will be an extremely low key day.
I will TRY to get back into the cafe, but may not make it. May decide to take a break from social media.
Wishing all a happy and OP day and know my prayers continue.

I am now shutting down. Will be back bright and early tomorrow. Just don't have it IN ME to be online.

Hello all!
Dearest Ann - I am so sorry your appointments brought back such stressful memories. Kudos to you for stepping back from social media to take care of YOU.
I am having a low key day. I went to bible study at 9:00 and other than that, have puttered around watering the garden, dumping pecan shells for DH (they make good mulch between the garden rows), cleaning out the fridge and taking the garbage can to the front for pickup tomorrow and other small tasks. Later, I will make a potato salad to bring to the hospice office. We will be celebrating the retirement of a CNA who is much loved. She actually retired last year at the height of the pandemic and we promised to celebrate when it was safe to gather.
DH's arm is sore from his booster, but no other symptoms, thank goodness. We are waiting to hear if our governor will lift the mask mandate, now that case numbers have dropped and more people have received vaccinations. We have a very low vaccination rate here. Too many uneducated people listening to country preachers and radical politicians, rather than their own, trusted doctors. Sad!
We're still in the 80's today, but a big cold front is scheduled to come through tomorrow afternoon, causing severe thunderstorms and the chance of tornadoes. I have a virtual credit union meeting at 4:00pm, so I hope we don't lose power.
I had Cherry Almond OO for breakfast. Lunch was the last of the crab & corn soup, a bit of acorn squash and some steamed okra splashed with vinegar, salt & pepper. That's how my dad liked okra and I always think of him when I eat it that way. Dinner will be leftover pork roast and gravy over baked potatoes with sauteed yellow squash as a side. The scale creeps up every weekend as I indulge more then. It is slowly trending down again.
BBL!

Good Evening, WW Friends ~
Happy Tuesday! It was a busy one indeed. The two gals that prepare the GSRP snacks while I do the Head Start ones, were both out sick today. We had one sub report, but of course she didn't know what to do. So it was a little hectic. But we got 'er done. At lunchtime, I walked down to the office and told our new principal we were short-handed and she came down and pitched right in with delivering lunch carts. Good sport, that one.
My DH fell ill Sunday evening and was home sick all day yesterday. Today I left him with a bowl of homemade blueberry oatmeal when I went off to my Fitness Class. He slept in and then ate and by the time I talked to him next he was feeling much better (I think it was my oatmeal).
I had a short meeting with our principal after my shift regarding some online training that she couldn't find, but I knew it was done. She called the person I remembered logged it on for me and she confirmed it. I came home and reset my password and "found" it!! I also made an appointment for my TB test and to drop off a physical form for my PCP to sign. I'll get it done tomorrow and go back on Friday then drop them at school. That should complete my portion of the licensing materials.
Tired this evening and looking forward to my head hitting the pillow. I'll write more next time.
