We went to the orchard yesterday and got some apples, Empire, Ida and Winesap. A pretty merle dog (looks like some kind of herding dog)lives there. He had brought one of his stuffed pals into the store unbeknownst to me. I saw what looked like a rat in one of the aisles and let out a shriek. Needless to say, everyone had a good laugh. Lunch was takeout from DLM. For once I didn’t get sushi but a salmon teriyaki bowl. Iggy needed lots of bread to start making his breadcrumbs for the Thanksgiving oyster dressing, so we picked some up while we were there. Becky, I hope the IBS is starting to calm down. moonriver, Denise, good to hear from you. Working as hard as ever I see. I hope you are taking care of yourself. Iggy and I are fine, thanks for asking. Linda, Iggy is starting to nag me about going to a restaurant but I have been standing firm. No one here is spacing people out and the city just revoked the indoor mask mandate, so servers no longer have to wear masks. Karen, that’s good that Arya’s leg lump is getting smaller. Have a good day at the gym. We are almost winterized here. The back garden hose is still out. Kathy, the local news keeps touting peak leaf colors but our maple is still green and the view from the upstairs window still shows lots of green leaves. October was really warm and last week was the first really cold evenings. We’ll be lucky if the maple drops its leaves by December.

Chele, thanks for the start. Too funny on the "rat"! I would've shrieked too. How was the salmon bowl? DS and DBIL went up to the mountains a few days ago for one of their working vacations. They said the color was spotty, but they did see some. Sounds like it's not one of the better years for it. The road I used to take to work had some pretty Florida red maples and there are a few in the woods around here. I haven't seen any signs of change yet, but it's still early for us. We're gradually warming up and will be back in the low 80s for a few days.
Waving to everyone. Have a good day.

Thanks for the start, Chele. Sorry you lost your post yesterday. So annoying! What kind of apple is an Ida? Yikes on the critter. I'm surprised it was so brazen to have been visible. We would probably be surprised at how many of them exist in that kind of environment that are stealth. Merle dogs are so pretty. We were almost adopted by a Merle Australian shepherd puppy. Kira was about 9 and wasn't exactly the friendliest dog to begin with, so we figured it wouldn't have been a good situation for her. How was the salmon teriyaki bowl from DLM? There were lots of people at the gym, but I was pretty much able to get on machines in the order I prefer to do them. People were actually wiping down machines after using them. Shocking! Amazing that your maples haven't started to turn yet. We don't have a lot of maples, but the one we do have turned red a couple of weeks ago and is now just about bare. Our oaks and sweet gums are various shades of yellows and golds now. The house finches are coming back. We had a few earlier today.
Kathy, I did see this week's Doctor Who and it was another good one. I wondered how many episodes it would be before the Doctor and Swarm come F2F. That didn't take long. They appear to have some history that she doesn't remember but he certainly does. Do you think he's a Time Lord? I'm starting to like Karvanista. His face reminds me of DB's Yorkies. He sounds like the character Odo on the old Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. I didn't know until this morning at the gym that FL lost by a bunch to SC this weekend. The Gators seem to be having a bad season like Clemson and Texas are. I also saw that FL has fired their offensive coordinator and offensive line coach, which is pretty amazing for this time in the season. What's the scuttlebutt down your way about that situation?
How was his reaction to wt gain, Linda? Is he back on the straight and narrow? If your clothes are looser, you're getting results even if the scale doesn't show anything. Congrats on the NSV. Odd about the serves not being masked, but I guess with your governor, it's not a priority. I'm glad your friend eventually got to the right place, but I'm concerned about her being behind the wheel with her confusion. The "Notes To Myself" were good ones. I got gas on Thursday because I didn't want to have to stop on Saturday (when I would have needed it) with Arya in the car. I'm glad I did because it was down to $2.89 that day. Today when I went to the gym, it was up to $3.08, but when I was coming back home it was up to $3.22. Yowser!
Dale has his next-to-last pickleball class tonight. I told him he needs to layer because it will be in the 60s when he gets there and probably in the 40s after the sun goes down (they play on outdoor courts). Arya and I haven't planned our evening yet.
👋👋to the rest of the gang. Hope everyone is having a pleasant Tuesday.

Karen, at the end of the last season the Doctor found out she was the "timeless child" and a lot of her memory had been wiped out. I wonder if the Swarm has something to do with that. I like Karvanista too. He reminds me of the Australian Silky my BFF's mother had when I was growing up. That dog was a brat!
Florida had a terrible game and I saw that the defensive coordinator and offensive line coaches were fired. The linebackers coach is taking over as defensive coordinator for now. The local paper is saying a loss to FSU would spell doom for Mullen and the UF recruiting class.

Y still has a couple virtual classes. I have to see if there is chair yoga class I could attend with all masked and distanced. I guess the machines are available.
Good sign that the bump is getting smaller.
Wherever we go almost nobody wears masks except at Sprouts organic farmers . No wonder we have worst rate of transmission in country and people seem to ignore it. Governor basically told treasury dept to go F themselves about using COVID money to pay schools not to mandate masks. Is so tired of brazen lawless behavior. A judge just ruled that community college must find an accommodation for two finish7 g nursing degrees who refuse vaccination on ground of religion because supposedly aborted fetal cells were used in trials and production of vaccine…There is nothing like that in the shots being given. So these are people to nurse immune compromised patients and they themselves are a risk. What is wrong with people?
things are heating up rapidly just above us in Colorado where weather is colder now.
Going out to dinner again at 3:30when nobody else will be in the bar section with the tall booths. Not feeling like it, but DH wants it. He only put in 1.5 and is settling down to more like WW. Very Low cal breAkfast and lunch and a regular balanced low cal supper. We have a little Chocolate ball for dessert.
