Karen, the “rat” was a stuffed animal toy the dog brought into the store. That sucker was too real looking. I am sure that a place full of fruit and veg has some sort of real critters lurking. A co worker had a Merle Sheltie and he was lovely and a real character. An Ida apple is similar to a Jonathan in taste but is larger and crispier. The salmon bowl was excellent. Glad the house finches are back. Wow, what happened at the gym that people were being considerate? Miracles do happen.
Linda, how was your dinner yesterday? It sounds like Bob is taking a more sensible approach to his eating plan. You are both doing so well.
Kathy, the salmon bowl was excellent. I won’t think about how much sodium was in it. We warmed up this week into the mid to upper sixties but back to the forties this weekend.
More leaf raking today. Arrgh! The maple is finally starting to turn. It is not one of the pretty maples that turns a beautiful red. This one turns yellow. Yesterday the city truck sucked up the leaves we swept to the curb. The next pickup is Dec. 22.

Good late afternoon chicks and thanks for the start Chele. Chele - sounds like you picked a nice selection of apples from the orchard. Will you be cooking/baking with any of them or strictly munching ? I was chuckling over the stuffed animal in the aisle. I just bet it freaked you out! How have you been feeling? How is Iggy doing? Will you have a somewhat traditional meal for Thanksgiving or a combination? We finally decided that we will go to my DS's house and gate the pups in the kitchen. This will also allow us to stop by and visit with MIL and DSIL at their house which pleases Gary. Wally is doing well but we're waiting for biopsies to come back on Zoe's massive lump that we were told originally was a lipoma and not a good idea to operate and now it has grown and they aren't sure what it is and might require surgery . Any additional bread making lately? Kathy - we are in full color up north and the Hudson Valley is truly gorgeous right now. Mother Nature surely does make beautiful colors in the autumn even when she's confusing the daylights out of us with 67 and 66 degree weather yesterday and today in the city. Will you be going to DM for Thanksgiving? Any pre-black friday shopping for you yet? Linda - loose clothes are a good sign and you've been doing well through this project with DH. Love the picture! How are the sinuses? I had a headache before bed and woke up with a migraine this morning. Tried the Excedrin but that didn't work so 4 hours later took the migraine medicine which did help. Still feel wiped but too much to do here at work to worry about me. Managed to order the pies from the bakery for Thanksgiving and still need to get the groceries for our community Thanksgiving bag donation for here at work. How is Micki doing? Becky - I think I read that your IBS had reared up again? How are you doing? How are Kenneth and the fur babies doing? Karen - glad to hear that Arya's lump is decreasing; that's a good sign. Happy you were able to do your gym workout and observe people actually wiping down machines after use! Once Dale is done with pickleball; what will the next athletic challenge be for him? Did all go well at Osteo? Numbers are back on the rise in quite a few states with NY and AZ being 2 of them. Nothing too drastic here in NY but definitely worth keeping an eye on. I need to reschedule my colonoscopy again soon, necessary but not particularly looking forward to that. Everything a go for the MG dinner? How is your GI issue doing? Have the hips, legs and knees been cooperating? Waving to Moonriver Denise and hope that work has not been too crazy for you! We just got through a big OB surge last week and over the weekend. Take care and keep safe dear ladies. Have a good evening! Ciao for now~

Chele, thanks for the start. I always have to drink a lot of water after a restaurant meal. I don't know why they have to be so salty. The yellow leaves are still pretty. We have sycamore trees in the area that sometimes turn a pretty yellow. Some years they just go to brown though depending on the weather. We have yard waste pickup once a week, but I guess there is more of it year round than where you are. Liz, good to hear from you! Beautiful scenery in your avatar. I'm glad you're getting some pretty colors. We were in the 70s today and drizzly. It looked like it should be snow instead of rain, but it's way too warm. It was just a fine mist with no storms. Sorry to hear that Zoe is still having issues and I hope they don't have to operate. I've done a little shopping, but not the bulk of it. That's good that you'll be able to see family over Thanksgiving. DS has not mentioned Thanksgiving and I really don't want to be the one to bring it up, lol. DBIL has a large family, but somehow they're always the ones to host. It's mainly since they're in a central location and have the room to do it. I'm fine with it if it is just me and DM. I don't know if we're all ready for a big gathering and I know some of those people aren't careful. We're all past the 6 month point on boosters now, so great timing for the holidays. We're waiting to become eligible for them. DM just got hers.
Karen, have you seen there's a tropical system that could form off of the east coast? It looks like it would head out to sea. It's strange how active the tropics were earlier in the season and then it just stopped for the most part. That high that was sitting out there for a few weeks really helped us. Is there a pickleball championship or is Dale done for now?
Linda, it's great to have looser clothes! Some of my tighter clothes are now fitting comfortably which is nice.

Thanks for the start, Chele. I've never seen a stuffed rat dog toy, especially a realistic one. Usual the offensive animals are bright colors or have goofy looks on their little faces. I was shocked at the gym. But then most of the people there were 30s or older. Even saw one guy wearing a mask. What all was in the salmon bowl? Would it be easy to replicate at home? Sorry the maple tree isn't one of the vibrant ones. I guess you'll have lots of leaves for next month's pick up.
Linda, how was dinner last night? It amazes me that some people in the healthcare field are resistant to ensuring they won't infect patients. Good luck to the community college in finding an accommodation that will meet the demands of the students while keeping patients they work with in clinical settings from possibly getting infected. If the unthinkable does happen, can the college or the state be sued? Nothing your governor (or Kathy's or Becky's or mine, for that matter) does surprises me at all. This is a pretty common time for Colorado to start getting snow, isn't it? Hope they don't send it our way. Were you able to find a masked, socially distanced chair yoga class?
I forgot about the "timelss child" last season, Kathy. I wish I had seen the last couple of episodes as a refresher before starting this season. You may be right about Swarm being involved with her memory loss. I can see the resemblance between Karvanista and a Silky. I guess it remains to be seen if the human-sized version will turn out to be a brat. So it was the DC, not the OC, who lost his job at FL. I was looking at the TV from across the gym, so it wasn't that easy to see. Makes sense to get rid of one on either side of the ball. Mullen's job may indeed be jeopardized if they lose to the Noles. While I know you don't relish the prospect of someone getting fired, I believe you would be ok with the game ending that way. There are all kinds of pickleball tournaments across the country and there is a big pickleball center with multiple indoor courts in Knoxville. I don't know how deeply he'll get into it and won't do much of anything until he retires. I hadn't checked the tropics lately. Things have been pretty quiet of late. The season technically ends soon, ot that we haven't had storms in December. I hope it does go out to sea. Been a kind of weird year overall.
Liz, are your colors pretty this year, unlike some of the rest of us? Some of the MGs were talking about it and we haven't had a lot of cool nights with warm days and that's the theory on why our colors aren't as pretty this year. Heard from the vet today and the test on the lump came back "inconclusive". So we need to go back early next month and they will draw another sample. Maybe it will be gone by then. We can hope. I'm not sure what Dale's next athletic endeavor may be. He wishes the pickleball court was larger and, with his previously being a tennis player, he is having some challenges with the size of the pickleball racket compared to a tennis racket. Everything seems set for the MG dinner and we already have 8 or 10 signed up and paid as of this afternoon. Don't blame you for not looking forward to yet another colonoscopy, or should I say not looking forward to another prep. My GI system seems to be doing pretty good most days. I started on some ayurvedic herbs and changed to a spore-based probiotic and something is clicking. Hip gets a little achy but not too bad. Knees seem to be doing pretty well at the moment. Our covid numbers are also rising and we are back over 2K new cases since yesterday. First time we've been that high in a couple of weeks. But then we are still only at about 40% of adults fully vaccinated, so I imagine cases are going to be heading back up. After we get through the dinner on 12/6, I can lay low for a while if I have to. Glad you got things arranged so you will be spending Thanksgiving with the family. When should you expect to hear something back on the biopsies?
Today was Day#1 of painting the new fence at the demo garden. We had 5 show up, so we got quite a bit done. They will be back at it tomorrow morning without me, but maybe they will have a few others show up and can get the job done tomorrow before the rain and cold weather come in late tomorrow. We had temps in the low 70s with bright sunshine, so it was a great day to be outside. Bugs weren't too bad either. I got my Vitamin D, and will probably sleep well tonight.

Last dog before Micki had a fatty tumor so huge between body and back leg that he could hardly walk…too old.
started with bad headache, finally beat it back and the afternoon was errands, bills, bank, dog walk, laundry, bed changing, cooking. Useful but yuck.
