Hello Ginny - The turkey treat making with the kids sounds fun, I'm glad they enjoyed it. I'm sorry to hear about your DD's problem at work, it's terrible that the administration won't back her. Ruth - Hope the weather isn't too cold there, but I guess it's getting to be that time of year for it where you live. I have a lot of pictures too, it would be nice if some of your family wanted them - or at least the ones of older relatives. It seems like many younger people aren't interested in family history anymore - but I hope some still are. The weather here has been pretty nice and it's supposed to be around 70 degrees tomorrow, but then cold on Sunday. I finished my block for the Happy Everything quilt along and also one of the blocks for the Fall Frolic quilt along - I still have one other to make since I'm doing those in two different sets of fabrics. This must be my week for having to make quilt blocks with small pieces because both of these patterns have little 1 inch and 1.5 in pieces! I'll be so happy to finish the second block and work on something else with larger block pieces I've been busing working on business things the last few days too. I don't know if it's true or not but it just seems like everything is so much more difficult to do than it was years ago. I did get most of it done. I drove my car the other day for the first time since I had it serviced last week and I hear a noise in the back tire/wheel. So I've made another appointment at the dealership to get that looked at - since I'm sure something they did caused it. It's very irritating that I have to go back there again when I didn't like going in the first place and sitting in their waiting room for over an hour. I hope this will be a quicker appointment and I don't think I'll go back there for service again unless it's something major. I only went this time because I felt like I needed a 2-year service and really all they did was an oil change and tire rotation that I could have done anywhere Take care

Good morning! Just a little frustrated with this site as it keeps logging me out or not allowing me to post. I know who has had issues with this before.
CJ, so sorry you have to take your car back in, I remember you having to wait a long time in the waiting room and for minimal service. Hope you can get appointment for when you want.
Ruth Yep go through those pictures, and I guess get rid of the duplicates. Or you could save the best of the best and give them to your son and your daughter now. That way you’ve done the work for them.
Spoke with my daughter, Ed and the student insulted her appearance pretty severely too. Kids are raised without respect these days, my daughter said that she has seen students like this before and they usually don’t graduate from high school and get into trouble. She is a high school teacher in a district that actuallyHas an excellent reputation. Let’s see if this post will go through.

Well Ginny, I just hate that your dd had to experience such a horrible student. This girl obviously is facing a bad future with the bad attitude she has already. Did you get your new rice krispie turkeys made?
No I didn't get my project done last night. I'm almost done now though. I just have the edging to finish and am about to start the last row.
Weather was warmer today but there were very strong winds. It wasn't a day for outdoor walking. Yesterday I made a lot of trips up and down the stairs so that was the exercise for that day and today is a day to rest. Tomorrow will probably be windy too so it may be a day for walking with Leslie.I found yesterday that my blood pressure which usually is about 100/70 was high so I'm trying to get in my exercise and eat better in order to bring it back down. It could be just a one day thing but it never hurts to live healthier. Dh's was also high and so was his blood sugar so he will also try to eat better but exercise won't happen because of his joint, esp hip pain barely lets him walk at times.I just saw on the news a woman sho is105 and runs. She started running when she was 100

Sorry I am pooped….
Yes all th e turkeys are done and in Tupperware for next week. My crafting for today was showing my DGD the ornament I made (she asked if I had finished it yet) and showing her that it only needs the buttons to be added.
Ruth, glad you are going to work on your blood pressure by starting to get some exercise in. Please take care of yourself!

Hello Ginny - I'm sorry you have problems with logging in. I log out each time and log back in each time, but I've had the virus pop up problems. I'm sure those turkey treats are cute. I feel for your DD with her work issues and give her a lot of credit for working with kids. I can't believe the things kids get away with in school these days. Ruth - Hope you can get your blood pressure back to a normal number for you. I always figure any "healthy" days we have help us and maybe balance out the unhealthy ones I sure don't want to live to be 105, but I'm happy for that woman that she sounds like she is enjoying life and doing what she wants. It was very mild here today with a bit of a breeze, we're getting some rain tonight and then tomorrow it's only supposed to be in the 40s I finished the second block for the Fall Frolic and I like that version a bit better than the other one. I'd like to get started on the layout but I'm not sure where I want to place the blocks in the quilt top - at least I can start cutting the sashings. I am going to do one version in a different layout. In Pat Sloan's version of this quilt she has 26 square in a square pieces measuring 3.5x3.5. I don't want to make those and I think I'll substitute 4 patches instead. I tried using the foundation papers to make the square in a square and it worked but for some reason my mind can't grasp paper piecing well and I find it stressful, so I'm not going to put myself through that 25 more times My DB's memorial service was today and I was able to watch the livestream, which was so nice. Many people talked and told how much they liked him and what a wonderful person he was - it was so nice to see the impact he made on so many people's lives. He was that kind of person who was everyone's friend. I still can't believe he's gone Take care everyone

HALLELUJAH, I AM HERE AND GOOD MORNING CRAFTERS, Not sure why I have stayed away so long,no ones fault.
CJ sorry to hear about Your brother.
I am still having problems with bloating and burping and constipation, not as bad as in JULY and AUGUST.I have lost 20.3 pounds without trying..
because of the bloating there still are some pants I cannot get into. I am on a new pill for constipation, suppose to help, can't see where it is working any better then anything else.the pill is so new there is not generic pill.
I did go to sew day yesterday, let's say it was a day I should have stayed home. been going to sew day here and there. I have not been doing to much sewing at home. I spent Tuesday and Wednesday looking for a pattern for A table top mat,you think I can find it? somewhere down stairs in my mess it is in this house.
have a nice FRIDAY, I am going downstairs and try and find that pattern and maybe work on what got messed up yesterday. phyl

Phyl- good to hear from you!! Glad you are doing ok. I wonder if your weight loss is due to some dietary changes that you had to make to try to solve the bloating and burping. If I remember correctly you had to eliminate some foods in an attempt to reduce those symptoms. I am sure your doctor is monitoring you well- as you have mentioned a new med for constipation. I really hope that works for you. Were you able to locate the missing pattern? That is SO frustrating…. I am glad you have been able to get to sew day- even if you are not working on much its nice to get out to see others. Do you and Don have any specific plans for Thanksgiving?
CJ-I am glad for you that your brothers service has taken place and that you were able to view it. The word closure is so awkward- but I am confident that hearing so many speak fondly of your beloved brother helped you a bit. None of that will take away the ache you feel in your heart for your brother or that you miss him…but it is comforting to hear others speak about him with such love. By the way…..must be genetic, as you also are a caring and kind person. We are thankful for you here. I do not think that with a sudden loss like that, it ever really settles in for awhile that your loved one is gone. In your case its complicated by the distance involved and that you were not able to physically attend his service. Take good care of yourself….and allow yourself whatever time you need to heal and adjust. With a sudden loss like that, acceptance can really take awhile. I very well remember when we made our BOM the instructor mentioning that 2 blocks would be done with paper piecing- and a lot of women groaned about that. I get how it works….and was able to master the limited use of it…but cannot say its a favorite part of quilting. Good for you to substitute 4patch blocks instead! Why make yourself miserable.
Ruth, were you able to finish the piece you were putting an edge on? Did you get your walk in with Leslie??
I am heading out to church shortly to rehearse with the praise team. (This should be interesting for sure). I have been up since 4:30 and am exhausted. Think I should be home by 8:30 I am sleeping in tomorrow am!!!! I did sort of finish another ornament…and set up the fabrics for 2 more. They sure are cute….
Wrapped a few Christmas presents today. No I am not that organized, but putting gifts under the tree keeps the cats from playing silly under it.

Hello Phyl - It's nice to hear from you. I'm sorry to hear that your health problems are continuing and hope the doctors can find a medication that helps you. I also hope you find the pattern Ginny - Hope your meeting this evening isn't too long since you've been up since very early today. I do hope you get good sleep tonight. The ornaments sounds like they are coming along. Ruth and Sue - Hope you are both well. Thanks so much for all the kind words about the loss of my DB. As you said, it's something that will take time to accept. I went back to the car dealership this morning for them to check the noise in my car. I heard it when I was leaving home but by the time I was at the dealership it wasn't there. And of course they didn't find anything. I'll just have to keep an eye on it. I was there for 1.5 hours again! After I left there I went to pick up a few groceries so I wouldn't have to go out next week. There were several things I was looking for that I couldn't find and then when I got home I realized I had forgotten something I really need. So I guess I'll go back one day next week, just to pick that up. No crafting for me today, but hopefully I can get something done this weekend before the new blocks come out again on Monday and Wednesday. Take care everyone!

Hi Phyl, it's good to see you and hear that you're some better. Ihope that continues
CJ,sounds like you're right on track on those quilt projects. I don't really like the term closure because to a lot of people that have not yet experienced the death of a loved one, especially a sudden death, It means "getting over" that death. there is no such thing. You always remember the person you lost. The pain of the loss may lessen but it never really goes away.
Ginny, I'm exhausted just thinking of getting up at 4:30 am and doing all the things you do. I hope you can sleep well tonight and enjoy the weekend
I did get my project finished and have started on the last group of things I need to make for gifts. I've already made the men in the family two small things that are crocheted but am now making a third. It was hard to decide what that small thing would be but I decided on keychains.I need to make six

CJ, Looks like we were posting at the same time. I didn't see your post before I started mine. I'm sorry that you will have to go out again because you forgot something you really need. I would hate to have to go out next week. When we went last it was a Friday and the stores were really busy. I haven't seen that many people in a store for a long time.Next week people will be doing their shopping for Thanksgiving so I hope you can get there at a time when it is quieter. And what a thing to happen that th4e noise went away and they didn't find anything yet you still had to be there for an hour and a halt...

evening, other wise my health is fine,my platelets are doing great.
I have not made to many changes, just eating less.guess when my nutritionist said eat anything you want,I have,I will see her on the 15th. thinking about going on the fodmap diet again.
I HAVE TO LAUGH OTHER FRIENDS I know that have been on other diets, say the same thing, every thing on the diet is what we like to eat.
did find out last night I will have to stay away from our homemade chili. tomatoes and tomato juice. tomatoes are on the list. regular tomatoes don't seem to bother me.it's the acid in the other stuff.
no I did not find the pattern,I made on a few years ago. if I want fir branches on the 4 white rectangles,I will have to draw them and free motion them on. I am
thinking of using pine cone fabric for the rectangles,. the rest is suppose to be be different red squares,I am thinking all red snowflake squares.PHYL

CJ- glad you got out for some groceries…of course, much better to get them early so you do not have to deal with the loonies out there. How very frustrating that the car did not make the noise when you wanted it to!! think that happens a lot. I wonder if the noise is temperature related- if the engine is hot or cold. Just so frustrating that you had to sit for 90 minutes to have nothing accomplished.
Ruth, are you making the same key chain for each man?? I would guess different colors- but a nice gift, and I figure they are easy to make. Glad you did finish the other project and I hope you are pleased with the results.
Phyl- frustrating that you did not find that pattern. think your idea out how to use the pine cone fabric and fir branches on what white rectangles will be so pretty. I am sorry that homemade chili is not something you can enjoy. Guess the good news is that you have identified a problem food, which is good. Wonderful news that otherwise your health is good!!! Yay
Think I have to make one short trip to the store…and then I should be done with the food store for a few days.
Worked on an ornament last nite - just getting the buttons sewn on. G

Good evening my wonderful crafting friends!
Ginny, it's good to hear that you were able to work on another ornament and relax last evening. I hope you slept well also
CJ, I hope you're able to get the projects done that you planned to do.
I did get the keychains done. I made all the men the same thing but different colors as you suggested I probably did. Then added the jump rings and key right part and beads on the drawstring ends. I made little pouches that they can carry change in or whatever other smaller objects they might want to carry. They could put in a chapstick or a small flashlight if they wanted to.
Now I'm going to dig out yarn to make my youngest greatgrandson a lovey blanket.I spent much of the day sorting through toys and other child things I have in my stash. I have a couple things for him but I need to make that lovey to add to his gifts. I have a lot of things for the other four so I'm not going to make them anything right now. So in a couple days I should have all my Christmas things made. The lovey is the last unless I decide to make dh something and I think I will start him a mosaic blanket.
I hope you all had a good day and I'll "see" you in the morning but will check back later to see if anyone stopped in.

Ruth, reading about you making a lovey blanket for your DGGS is such a heart warming story…as you are a well prepared crochetter I am sure you have the perfect yarn in house to make that blanket ( Just as I figure CJ has an incredible stash of fabric in her home). I am impressed that you have the jump rings in the house for the keychains. It sure sounds as though you are approaching being done with all your Christmas gifts.. I like the idea of a small pouch to store change or some other small item in.
Yesterday I was home pretty much all day with the exception of one super short run to the store. Cleaned up a lot of leaves and did some housework….got a load of laundry done and hung out. I finished the day with a fire in the firepit and some reading while outside by the fire.
I am getting a cold (yes, just a cold….I can smell and taste everything and the achy back I have is from leaf raking). Hope I can stay sort of low key today so that I can try to get rid of this.
See ya later. Ginny

Hello Everyone Ruth - Those keychain/pouch gifts sound nice and useful. I think we all have several keychains and it will be nice to have a colorful one. Ginny - I'm sorry to hear you are getting a cold, I hope that you can knock it out quickly so you'll be better by Thanksgiving. Phyl - Your project sounds pretty - pine cones and snowflakes. I hope you can work on that and finish it. Sue - Hope you are doing well. It's been alot cooler here, but still nice Fall weather. I'll be glad to pick up those few groceries I missed so I can be off the roads the day before and after Thanksgiving - I think there will be a lot of people out travelling and shopping this year. One of the things I forgot was self-rising flour since I wanted to make a tea loaf recipe made with tea soaked raisins. I usually only make it once a year so this will be the time I started working on a new quilt project today and I was happy to work on one that is not part of a quilt along. This one needed 48 half square triangles and I got them all made and trimmed this morning. After I finish that then I have to add snowball corners to each block - so that's 96 snowballed corners The fabric is very nice quality Moda so it's a pleasure to work with it. The new block for the Happy Everything quilt along comes out tomorrow and with that one we'll have finished the whole top half of the quilt. I'll be happy to see how the top half looks together. Hope all of you have a good day and get to do some crafting. Take care
