Good morning friends. Slept well and grateful. Can't believe that November is half over! These months are simply flying by.
Last night we had a huge fisher cat in our back yard. We were very grateful to not be out there as they are very aggressive! I rapped on the window and he/she took off
Pam having Abby over trumps posting any day So happy that you were uplifted by her visit! Nice that you and Debbie are able to keep up with the walking. I've been a little lax in that area. I try to at least hit my Garmin goal daily or at least make 10,000 steps. It doesn't always happen. Today I have a manicure and pedicure scheduled with Mindy at 1 p.m. and looking forward to having it done and chatting with her. She is very upbeat which is what I need right now. Waving and shall CBL
Wishing all a wonderful peaceful and OP day

Good Morning, WW Friends ~
Happy Monday!! And so begins another week ..... I heard at the party Saturday night that we had a couple of classes closed for this week due to COVID, and this morning heard about yet another one. And so it goes in Michigan ..... They are predicting another "surge" after the holiday weekend also.
Ann ~ I agree that the time is just flying by! Enjoy your mani/pedi today (I know you will). Also chatting with an upbeat friend is usually the best medicine for me. Fortunately I had lots of that this weekend so I am well prepared for the coming week.
Pam ~ Yay for a sleepover! I know that just made your weekend! You're doing a good job with keeping up with your walking. Me, not so much. I would have liked to walk yesterday but when we got home from lunch I was cold and just wanted to curl up in my chair (which is what I did).
Judy ~ Hope you enjoyed your first weekend in your new home. I can only imagine how much you unpacked! When we moved here DH asked me how long I thought it would take to unpack all the boxes (which were stacked everywhere) and I told him when our friends moved shortly before that it took her two years..... he asked if we could get it down to two months? In actuality we got it done much more quickly. But it was a smaller place and I wasn't working. It was all fun.
I am so glad that we ordered our Thanksgiving dinner already. I keep hearing ads; in fact a number of restaurants are offering reservations for T'giving dinner. But last year when everything was closed around us, we discovered Kroger and tried it and were more than satisfied! So we are really looking forward to using them again. Some of the ads are actually twice what Kroger is charging us, so we made the right choice (for us). This way we have plenty of leftovers (probably the best part of T'giving dinner IMHO).
We got our chairs and tables from the patio put away yesterday. The firepit is still out, but it is covered. When we get the snow off of it, DH has already made a place for it on the shelves in the garage. We also have a couple of small decorative things sitting out. Eventually it will all be done!
Pam, I can totally sympathize with trying to think of gifts for a guy who doesn't need anything. I have already bought (and received) two pair of his favorite jeans (which he needs). Also he has asked for a shower mirror and I have been shopping Amazon for just the right one. Then I have to really THINK!
I have a new wireless printer on order and due to arrive today. My printer is ancient, but it works, so it was a difficult decision to replace it. When I lost my "solution center" with a recent upgrade to my computer, my IT guy asked "do you know how old that printer is?" He had looked it up and found the year it was made and it was so long ago that he laughed! I can no longer check my ink levels, and recently ran out of ink unexpectedly. I had a black one in reserve and ordered a tri-color online. So they are both new but I won't know when they're low and so I will install the new one when it gets here.
It is only 32 this morning. The sun was shining for a few minutes but now it's gone again. I am already wearing my down jackets. Rats!!
BBL. Make a great day!!

Sue yes I'm sure that you and DH will so enjoy your ready made Thanksgiving dinner. We will have to look into that for next year. I hear great reviews about it and especially during this time it's a heck of a lot safer to get it and eat at home. My favorite part of the meal is the leftovers For some reason they taste extra good! Good luck with the printer. Mine is still up and running although old. Once it goes I shall most definitely replace it. Almost time to hit the pavement. Waving and shall CBL

Good morning!
Debbie and I were out early and "got 'er done". I had carrot cake OO for breakfast and DH will whip up a chicken, broccoli, and other various veggies stir fry for dinner. We will have brown rice with it, since we both like it just fine. Not sure what I will have for lunch yet.
Count me in on Thanksgiving leftovers! Unfortunately, since we have a communal dinner at my younger DB's house, which leftovers we get is sometimes less than what we would enjoy if we had a meal at home. Oh well! I am really looking forward to seeing all my siblings at once for the first time since April.
I have laundry going and am toying with the idea of doing some dusting and housecleaning. Or, I could read some more of the Elin Hilderbrand book I started last night, Barefoot. Hmmmm.....I finished the Jodi Picoult Book of Two Ways and was disgusted when there was NO resolution of the main story line at the end. Then I read Three Sisters by Susan Mallery and enjoyed it very much. I have been into lighter stories lately.
Sue - So sorry about the uptick in cases in MI. I hope the vaccine for the 0-5 years age group gets approved sooner than later and that you don't pick up the bug from either a kid or a coworker. Thankfully, the new case count in my immediate area (parish) is listed as a -29%. I was never good at math, but question how it goes below zero?? Oh well, both hospitalizations and deaths are the lowest since the beginning of the pandemic, so I'll accept it. I wonder what things will look like 2 weeks after the holiday?
Ann - Enjoy both the mani-pedi and the visit! Did you ever figure out how to add steps to the WW app? I have mine set for my Garmin to automatically count them, but find I frequently have to go to the bottom of the activity page and click on "Refresh Garmin Connect data" to get it to update. I was able to manually add yoga and gardening activities.
Judy - Waving!

In activities you can type in 'steps'...when that comes up (and sometimes it doesn't) you can add your steps in manually....to get to the previous day hit 'see all' and you can manually add those as well. It's a PITA but for some odd reason mine will NOT sync and I am NOT going to uninstall and install the app again. I've done that so many times I have a blister on my finger LOL...just kidding but I'm sure you know the drill!!!!!
Walking is the only activity that I count.....Just can't be bothered with household chores and the like. That is way too much like work LOL...especially being technology challenged! Simple works for me.
I just finished my veggie bean soup for lunch and in a bit will be leaving for my manicure pedicure. Wearing the mask for that length of time always tires me out, so if I don't get back into the Cafe, will catch up tomorrow.
Judy hope all is well with you and DH.

Hey friends,
We had a busy weekend. I had a long standing commitment to spend the weekend at a book club pal's new home in Falmouth on the Cape which is only about 15 minutes from me. I was really torn - I wanted to see them, but have SO much to do before the Thanksgiving crowd arrives next Monday. DS, DDIL and the two babies arrive Monday. DDIL comes in on Wednesday night with her French bulldog. I hope I can throw together a turkey dinner in time. We will have beds set up and living room furniture and rugs in place and our dining room table ready. Not sure how decorated we will be, but it is what it is. I had a ball with my friends after DH urged me to go. She had a feast of quiches, peach French toast casserole, salad and soup ready for us Saturday at noon. Then we walked the beaches and around town to the cute shops. Then we had dinner reservations at an historic and popular place called the Coonamesset Inn (my own family has had a lot of celebrations there). We stayed up until midnight gabbing and watching a British show and none of us slept well. Her new home is just beautifully appointed and decorated. I left for "home" shortly after breakfast and then they all stopped to see our new place on their way home. They all loved it so it was a good feeling. DH took the ladies and me out to dinner before they left.
Now I am back at work - I arrived late because I had a doctor's appointment for a physical and to meet my new doctor whom I liked very much. I think I will stick with him since it is not too long a ride for once a year. He was great and spent about an hour getting to know me and going over everything.
I have one more dinner with my former co-workers. It will make for a long day for me as I will drive back to the Cape tonight at 7 or so. But, I want to see them and I plan to be home tomorrow and Wednesday. I had planned to talk to my boss about my preferred new schedule today, but he is not in the office. He is working from home.
I'm still tired after my weekend but hope to accomplish more this week as far as unpacking. I dream of boxes! We did get our dining room chandelier hung. Window treatments will have to wait a while. No time for that now.
I read all your notes and will try to respond more later. Glad everyone is doing well. Ann, enjoy the mani/pedi. Ick, I hate those Fisher Cats. They are big and so scary. I hear they are vicious, too. I have seen them as well. Sue, brrrr...it is getting cold here, too. Pam, I never heard of negative COVID statistics! I'll have to check that out.

Judy just reading all you have done and need to do makes me want to take a long long LONG nap!!!! Be sure to take time out for YOU! My manicure/pedicure with Mindy was just what I needed. I chose a deep color called Winter Wine How can I go wrong as I am a HUGE FAN of both!!!! Now it's time for me to shut down and relax. Wearing the mask for any length of time totally does me in. Sweet dreams and catch y'all on the flip side!

I’m Back home now after a nice dinner with friends.
We had a little snafu with our DS tonight. He called us to tell us that in addition to his wife and two babies who we are so excited to see, he will be bringing his very rambunctious three year old German Shepherd. We have our dogs and our daughter is bringing her little French bulldog. His dog is really not a pet type of a dog. He’s big and very active and he does not like other dogs. When we go to visit them, we have to kennel our dogs because we cannot bring them around him. He is a one man dog. At any rate, DH called him tonight to tell him that he thought it would be too stressful with the dog and couldn’t he find another solution? Ds became upset and immediately said they weren’t coming. DH just thought he might be able to find a different kennel for them or someone to watch. DS overreacted but later called me. I told him that of course we want his family to be here and we hadn’t known that he’s been trying to find other accommodations for the dog. We are really dog people so for us not to love a dog takes a lot. I’m just afraid he might hurt one of the little dogs because he does not like dogs. It just adds to the stress. But, in the end we told him to bring the dog along with his crate and we will keep him isolated from the other dogs and kids. He can walk him and feed him. Holidays can be so stressful!! Wish us luck- four dogs, two babies, five adults for a week. We’ve barely had time to unpack anything. I think DS is feeling very stressed, too. The dog picked up DDILs mother’s little dog by the neck a few years ago. It was very scary. He is fine with people but not dogs. Oh well…thanks for listening and another therapy session!
