People over 60 have a different metabolism than those who are younger, and weight loss gets harder as one ages. This thread is for us.
Join us! Share your ideas, your successes, your frustrations. Offer support. Get advice from folks who are on a similar journey.
Our challenge is to stay on plan, exercise and keep trying to lose weight while improving our overall health -- and maintaining a positive attitude!
Think about where you were and how you felt when you made the initial decision to join The Senior WW Challenge. Close your eyes and remember when you said to yourself “Enough is enough and I’m getting in shape!” On a scale of 1 to 10, how serious are you? You really need to be an eight or higher! If not, you should probably reevaluate your thoughts and feelings about regaining great health in your life.

Good Morning All!
Egads who came south and left the door open. It was 43 degrees when I got up at 5:30. Now it's warmer up to 48 degrees. It's way to early for this kind of weather in Florida.
Today is Janet's 12th birthday. Where oh where did the time go. She has a volleyball game tonight so not sure when we'll be able to give her her birthday present. We'll definitely go to the game but we can't haul in all those dolls. When asked a few weeks ago what she wanted for her birthday without hesitation and said "Popper's doll collection". I explained to her they are not play with dolls and she said she knows that but wants the collection "to take care of for Popper". So we're giving it to her but again can't haul it into the gym.
My house is finally getting back in shape. After concentrating on the garage sale the last two weeks the house took a back burner.
Duke really isn't a cold weather dog. I've never seen him go out, do his business and back in so quickly. Then he heads for his kennel and snuggles into his "blankies". He's the funniest dog. Have him the bone from the Bean Soup the other day and he promptly went and buried it. Yesterday he dug out up. All the dogs I've had he's the first one I've actually seen bury a bone. And you should see him work on getting it buried!
Time to get ready for church. Hope everyone has a good day! And Vickie hope your contractors shops up early today to finish the job.

All things are relative. Jane is cold at 61 and we decided to decorate the porch for Christmas because it will get up to 60. We won’t turn on the lights until after thanksgiving.
Don pretty well cleaned the yard of leaves yesterday but one maple still has half its leaves.
I need to make a grocery run today sometime.
B - oats, blueberries, walnuts, almond milk L - maybe lunch out D - roasted vegetables, ?

Good morning all.
It's chilly and overcast here today but I can't complain since it's going to be in the mid 50s and for November that's a pretty decent temp.
All of you Floridians stay warm!!
The workmen were here bright and early at 8am this morning after a very upsetting afternoon yesterday of calling the owner of the company and getting things off my chest. Yesterday no one bothered to show up after we were told they would be here and around 3:30pm I checked my email (for the 4th time that day) to see if there was any word about when they would be showing up to work. I saw that they had sent an email but when I opened it I found that they had sent an invoice for $6K for the tear out of the master bath.....which had not even been started yet! Needless to say I had finally hit my boiling point and I made that phone call. The excuse was a miscommunication to the workers and instead of coming here they ended up at a different job. Someone did come last night around 4:30 and worked in the hall bathroom and not only did I get an apology from the owner but I also got an in person apology from the worker and an email apology from the company along with a time line of the completion of the job and an assurance that they had cancelled the invoice and wouldn't expect any money until the completion of both bathrooms.
Sharon, our red maples in the front yard are pretty bare but we have a few trees in the back yard that still have about half their leaves.
Pat, happy 12th birthday to your Janet!

Good for you, Vicki. Enough is enough!
Finally got my hair done yesterday. Needed that ‘pick me up’.
Everyday I’ve had appointments (or excuses) interfering with exercise, which puts me in a funk. I’m heading off to swim, right now!
B Daily celery juice, after 30 mins. Blueberries L White Bean, Spinach, Noodle Soup (The babies popped over and ate most of it. Lol They’ll eat anything if you’re sharing. D Not sure, nothing prepared. Usually fall back on baked potato and steamed broccoli for something quick.
Plan to make Pumpkin Pie. TJs had Gluten Free crusts but not sure about 5 g fat in 1/16th of crust. Hate when I don’t check at the store.
46 and sunny is pretty good weather for Nov. in New England and it will be 64 on Thursday. Can’t complain!
Have a happy Tuesday!
Marlo💕

I had my 3 month follow-up appt with my ankle surgeon and NP today. They agree with my PT's that I am above the curve in my healing progress. I can resume driving and my normal activities as I feel able. I can extend my PT beyond the original Dec. 5th end date if they feel it will benefit me. My new ankle appliance is made of cobalt, chromium, titanium, and plastic. I will set off alarms at security screenings. And I will need a "special order" for the follow-up MRI I am to have on my cervical spine the end of December. For those of you that don't know me from years ago, I have a small meningioma behind C3. My neurologist has been ordering MRI's over the past 3 years at various times to check the stability of the lesion. It has remained stable in size with unchanged characteristics. This next MRI is the last in the initial schedule of tests. If the lesion is still unchanged and stable I will not need additional MRIs. I put a call in to the neuro's office and am expecting to get the corrected order for the MRI via my patient portal. Now if the dreaded COVID-19 and it's multiple variants would just bit the dust and disappear!

We found out late yesterday that our DGD, Liv, earned the below honors for her high school soccer season. AND this caption was included in the award notice: "Congratulations to senior co-captain Olivia Curry on being voted 2021 Pioneer Athletic Conference Liberty Division Most Valuable Player, and earning a spot on the Pa. Soccer Coaches Association All-State Team for the second year in a row! Liv is just the fifth player in PAC history to earn all-state honors twice, and the fourth Spring-Ford player named to the all-state team joining alums Ally-Kate McKinley (2013), Laura Suero (2015) and Gabby Kane (2016)."

KC. Wonderful report from your dr. Congrats to Liv You have some grandchildren who certainly make you proud.
He who procrastinates misses out. First was a phone call which delayed me , then the bug guy showed up unexpectedly so I called to cancel chair yoga so someone else could go. Then my back decided to hurt so sat for three hours doing nothing then took a shower and went to pick up my prescription. Now I hope to straighten up the house where needed and try to get some laundry done.
I got up at 7:30 and at 2:00 I have done nothing. Very irritated at myself.
Vickie. They certainly owed you an apology and you owe them a poor review based on coming to do the work. Glad you got a little satisfaction

KC, that is awesome about your DGD Liv! You have quite the family. Thanks for sharing the info about your health. Great news.
Weather! Well it was in the 40s early this AM, but is 73 right now and GORGEOUS. I have had 2 meetings so far and won't be picked up until 5:30 for my next so decided to walk home from my last meeting and am checking in. I decided not to go to WW early this morning as the schedule was way too tight. My first meeting was for lunch out with a neighborhood group. Tonight is an event where they will serve deli sandwiches. I have to be careful since I love deli. So much eating out lately. I do look forward to meeting new people.
Happy birthday to Janet, Pat! You are a generous grandma. Generous person, period.
Marlo, I really need that hair pick-me-up. With short hair it can get pretty ratty-looking and mine really is now. I have an appointment Friday and cannot wait to look decent again.
Sometimes you have to be that squeaky wheel, Vicki. It's good that you called.
Enjoy the rest of your Tuesday, friends.

Busy day for me today. After guided meditation I went to Costco during senior hour. I got the iRoomba for Mike for Christmas (He is hard to buy for, has everything and what he doesn't have he buys. This is one thing I think he would like but would never buy himself.) Then I went to get gas and went to Stretch class and Yoga class. When I got home I had some lunch and took a nice walk in 77 degree sunshine. It was gorgeous out!
After all of that I took a CEU on Yoga to Support Your Lymphatic System. I learned a lot from this workshop. I have another CEU tomorrow before my derm appointment. As long as Yoga Alliance keeps offering these quality workshops at no cost I will continue taking them.
I have a yoga class to teach tonight. I am hoping to utilize a lot of what I learned today. Sorry I am not caught up with posts. Hope everyone is doing well and having a good day. BBL

Hello to all. KC you have a talented GD. I know you are very proud.
It was b 70 today and average high is 61. After tomorrow it should drop. The swing see seasons are all about an ups and downs.
I actually made a air of harem pants. My first in 18 months. I am proud and embarrassed that to it took me so long.
Laundry in washer and Shepard's pie in oven. It just got dark. I can't stop yet.
