Happy Day All!
Well, yesterday morning was 35, this morning is 55. Friday morning we'll be back in the 30's.
Good day yesterday. It warmed up nicely, the grocery store wasn't too crowded and on the way home DDIL called and said she was bringing dinner! Okay by me! She is so sweet - she knew we wouldn't want to get in the car again after our trip up, so she made it and brought it here for final prep. It was delicious as always, and my kitchen is really clean! She brought Korean bulgogi which is thinly sliced ribeye steak in Korean sauce with onions. Served over rice. She also brought the makings for Korean pancakes. They are SO good. This time she had julienned carrots, zucchini, onions and potatoes. They're put in the mix and fried in a frying pan with a little (or more) oil. You can eat them just like that, or dip in just a little soy sauce. I don't know what's in the flour, but she brought me a bag. The first time she made them for me at her house was years ago and she put in chopped seafood with the veggies. She said she didn't add that this time because she wasn't sure DH would like the chopped squid and octopus part of the seafood. I think she was right! LOL!
Also, she insisted on showing me the easiest way to cut back my hostas. She had asked me what I was going to do today. Anyway, she cut back five under the living room window - in about 3 minutes. Too bad I can't squat like she does! The rest may take me a bit longer. LOL!
They're going to Denver to DGS's for Thanksgiving, and she's busy next weekend, so said this was our Thanksgiving together. I'm so blessed with her!
Wish you could have seen Charlie last night. He was SO tired. He ran a lot all day and realized it's a lot different running around the cabin on the mountain that in flat FL! He could hardly keep his eyes open by about 6 PM.
BettyJ - praying you don't have COVID. You do NOT need that! Nobody does, but you have enough on your plate.
Mar - praying it was just an oops with the biopsy and they didn't get enough.
Connie - sorry, but had to laugh at your story about the urine sample not being enough. Wonder if they spilled it! LOL! I keep thinking I really need to get on the reading thread. I had to look up Lucinda Riley and may try her books. I seem to be into British authors for some reason. Am on the fourth of a series by Jane Adams. I think I got the whole series on Amazon for 99 cents. One of their specials. She can really set a scene and has lots of twists and turns. One was kinda gruesome, though good. Oh - thanks to whoever mentioned new books out by Joanna Fluke. I really like her.
Emily - I'm with you - where has November gone? Haven't heard you talk about the boys lately? Everyone busy, I guess.
Helen - meant to tell you I love your avatar. You two look just as happy as your posts reflect!
Phyl - hope all goes well with your crowns this morning. Feeling really silly this morning, so have to ask if that makes you a double queen, being crowned twice. .... Maybe I should just go back to bed!
Question: If you order from Amazon, or just online, on a regular basis do you think it makes you spend more or less? It sure is easy and when I was in FL I ordered all kinds of stuff for the house. However, when there's something on my list I need, and I go to the store, I tend to almost always buy something else while I'm in there that wasn't something I really needed - just saw and picked it up. I'm not talking groceries, or daily stuff, but items like clocks, vacuum cleaners - I even ordered some special car cleaning kit DH wanted.
Can you tell DH isn't up yet, so I'm not being pressured to cook breakfast? My mind is wandering all over the place. Even Charlie is back all snuggled up in his bed. I'll quit now!
Make your day a good one and stay well. Cheers!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CONNIE Hope you have a Really Great day.
Did 2 loads of laundry yesterday and put general stuff away. Also, Patrick to the groomer but no summer cut on the hair. Looks so soft and cuddly. Thinking of making some Chicken Chili today since it was chilly this morning. Started out in the low 50's this morning, 64 now, headed to 78.
DGS was here Sunday so a fun day as usual. Deciding what we 3 are doing for Thanksgiving, and when. May be the Friday or Saturday after.
Everyone have a Thankful Tuesday.

Morning All!
Have my ESL group in a few minutes so the day has to begin quickly…..
Firstly and foremost, Happy Birthday Connie! Wishing you blessings of good health, happiness and laughter for your coming year. Hope you are doing something fun, if not today, then sometime during the week for sure.
Marilyn sorry about the biopsy crazies going on. Deep breath… keep your mind active and off the worry…..
Betty glad you are able to get the support you need on the chair. After my Mom died and I was “alone” in the house, for the longest time I felt disloyal about changing anything. Finally I jumped in, admitted that I really hated that chair, rug, etc. and started to make my house my own. Now it warms and comforts me….. Hope you feel the same way.
Penny sure sounds like I would like to meet your DIL. She cooks such interesting stuff and I feel pretty sure she would be able to explain a lot of the unfamiliar vegetables I see in the veggie store. I feel like I’m in a rut with the old standbys right now and would love some new kinds to stimulate the menu.
Well must get the day started. There were no ESL questions sent this week, instead I sent two cartoons. One is a picture of a rhinoceros painting pictures. In each painting he paints his horn and the caption reads “You see the world as you are”. Wonder what kind of response I’ll get to that…..
Wishing all a pleasant day!
Dayle

Yes, today is the day, another year!! I do not feel any older so that is good thing. thank you for the birthday wishes. My DD#2 and DSIL are bringing in our favorite subs for dinner tonight. We do go for lunch now and then but not eating out for dinner yet. Numbers are way up and not enough people wearing masks. don't know who is vaccinated or not these days. Maybe after the holidays but for now want to spend time with those little ones.
About Amazon, I think that shopping on line does makes it easier to spend more and maybe order something I don't need but I do try to be sensible. I find that if you get free shipping like Amazon Prime and a sale it is usually a pretty good price. I like not having to go shopping now days and honestly have not been upset with anything I got. Of course if it is a place I have never heard of do check reviews and most time DON"T!! I have favorite places so maybe that is why I am happy with my purchases. I will not order if not free shipping.
DDIL meals for you always sound so good to me and I love Squid. my DGDinlaw got me to try smelts at her favorite restaurant and I found out I like it too. Who would have guessed.
Once my hosta has had a frost it is much easier to take care of so I wait for that.!!! I only have one bush plant and honestly I am thinking about digging it up. So much of the time it seems like a weed. I am replacing it with brown eyed susans in that area. Well not me but the plant has just spread out to fill in some other places as well. they stay so long in flower I just love them. Can trellis them or just let them spread. I have done both now and only 2 years to get so many. It is an area where nothing else would grow but the hosta.
Penny, I like it when you wander all over the place, I tend to do that as well sometimes.

Good morning Penny & ATF,
Sunny and 46, the high will be 52.
This morning I tried to sit, with my jacket on, on the balcony. Didn't last out there to long. Decided to have cup of coffee #2 while I read and type on the thread.
Penny - I haven't had much to talk about concerning my boys. As they are getting older they don't need me as much. I try to see them once a week but on school days and with them in 6th grade now they get more homework so I'm limited to visits, my doing not theirs or their parents. Believe me when I say this is difficult for me because I've been with them so much....but summer will come back again and we can frolic in their pool. Ed, myself and DSIS will be spending Thanksgiving Day with them.
My car is at the mechanic today so hopefully I'll be able to take it to inspection tomorrow or Thursday.
Connie - happy birthday; enjoy your special day!
Betty - hope you are COVID free.
Mar - sorry to hear they didn't get enough specimen for your biopsy. Hope you don't have to go thru that again.
Have a great day everyone!

Just to wander a bit more - and complain... Yesterday in the mail received a replacement credit card. Same number, different expiration date and security code. I did not ask for one, so was suspicious even though the accompanying letter look legit. Also the account numbers were not raised on the card. Called the credit union this morning and they affirmed it had been sent. Apparently some folks with cards issued back then are having issues with the chip in a reader. Fine - thank you (even though I wasn't having any problem). BUT - now I have to go to about 20 websites where I have automatic billing to the credit card and change the exp date and code. *&^%$ (**&^%$#^% and so on! I may wait until Thursday when it's supposed to rain. Still have a bunch of paperwork to take care of, as I got a bit delayed because of that!
Oh - came across this today while looking for something else on the computer. I probably already posted it a while back, but just in case, here it is: (Wish I knew how to just upload a picture from my laptop without putting it on FB first. So you're just getting the quote itself) .........well, nevermind, I can't find it now and really don't have time to search for it.
Guess I'll go back to whatever it was I was doing - if I can remember what it was! It's going to be an interesting day, I can tell!

Good morning everyone
Happy birthday Connie.
Woke up at 1am with arm and hand swelling. Took off my wedding ring which was hard to get off. Took Tylenol and went back to sleep Woke up at 7:45. Right now doing ok. Arm hurts and swelling under arm but not feeling like I have been run over by a truck like the past 2 vaccines so far.
Hopefully I will get some answers on the biopsy soon. I messaged both endocrinologist yesterday. If another biopsy is needed it needs to be scheduled.
I do see my normal doctor next week and definitely will ask him what he thinks. Also if I have not heard from endocrinologist by then maybe he can talk with her and the other one that did biopsy.
I am going to try real hard to not become totally stressed out. Will work on Christmas decorating and getting ready for Thanksgiving at our house. Also I hope to do a little outside cleaning on front porch. The bench is very dirty. Patio furniture in backyard needs cleaning also.
Be back after breakfast.

Happy Birthday Connie. Hope you have an absolutely wonderful day. I too haven't been going out for dinner much. I go with my grandson every couple of weeks but we go early and the place he likes is never busy except at the bar and we stay away from that.
Haven't gotten the report yet on my Covid test. They said 24-48 hours and it hasn't even been 24 yet. I'm just anxious to see what it is. Just in case it turns out to be positive I went and did some errands this morning. Had to go to the Spectrum store because when I stopped my cable service with them they gave me a deal on internet and when I got the bill it was the same as before. The guy said all the changes go through him (manager) and the other guy must have forgotten to tell him. Easy fix for him. Went to Wal Mart to get a new belt for my new vacuum. I just accidently sucked up one of Ozzies toys and it kind of broke the belt. They didn't have the right one. I'll either order one or keep looking. I was out of bread and coffee creamer so picked those up. Last stop was Michaels. Didn't have what I wanted but did get baby yarn in green and yellow to use up the blue, pink and white I already have. Found a cute pattern. Sooner or later someone I know will be having a baby. Was going to stop to put gas in the car but the wind is so cold today I decided to wait with that.
I've started ordering more from Amazon and a couple other companies that I feel comfortable with. Hate trying to find things in the stores and now with the holidays coming it's even worse. I also won't order unless it's free shipping.

Lin - Those recipes look really good, but a little different than what I watched DDIL do. She made individual pancakes and had LOTS of the veggies in them. I also think her bulgogi is a more simple recipe. I guess, like any other recipe, there are lots of ways to make it. I remember asking a Mexican/American friend I worked with about the food in one of our "Mexican" restaurants. He said there are as many ways to make Mexican foods as there are ways to make a pot roast in America. Good point!
I cut back one hydrangea (5 big ones to go) and all the hostas. DH will do the big hydrangeas with the electric saw. Clipping the stems one by one with the clippers is just too much work and kills my shoulder.
Now off to make an early supper meal. We've been trying to eat about 3-4 in the afternoon to help DH's reflux at night. Today will be baked salmon and sautéed yellow squash with onions. Maybe a salad. Not very inventive!

Penny- the dinner sounds delicious. You are sure working hard in the yards. Updating charge card info definitely is a pain to do. Time consuming.
Dayle- hope your class goes well.
Connie- we had subs last night for dinner. Turkey, provolone and avocado. Yum. Enjoy your special day.
Emily- that is definitely cold to sit out with morning coffee. I wish you could see the kids more. Glad you do see them once a week. Hopefully fixing the car isn’t costly.
The endocrinologist that did the biopsy responded saying I need to discuss everything with my endocrinologist. So basically he isn’t involved other than doing the biopsy. Still waiting for my endocrinologist to respond.
I am doing amazingly well after the Pfizer booster. I feel ok. Just some swelling in arm pit area and sore at injection site but not super bad. Taking Tylenol. Taking it easy today but will work on Christmas decorating this afternoon.
We didn’t make reservations yet in Santa Barbara for our anniversary. Hubby’s cousin is dying soon and we have a feeling the funeral might be that week. If not we will make reservations right before we are to go. We would leave November 28 for 4 days.

The 4 foot lighted tree now next to our front door outside looks good. $49 at Home superstore (also online) and comes with white lights and black pot also. bettyj,, this could be a nice little indoor tree. Four feet sure is not as tall as I imagined.
