Just a short note to let you know I've been reading each night but havent had the energy to post. This recovery is taking a long time. Victoria has proven to be a big help. She is coming every morning to help get the day started. So far so good. My sister went home several weeks ago. Went for blood work yesterday. Im anxious to see if the white blood count came down. Hope so. Ill try to do better. Been napping a lot.

Great to hear from you, Jenny.
Another windy day in store. Sunshine and high 76. I plan to go to the gym if my head feels like it. Still having reaction to the med but the reactions are better than the infection, 7 more days and maybe I won't have to take it after that.
Son is coming Friday afternoon and spending the night to get some Sonny D0's done around here.
Have a great day all.

Good morning, friends!
Jenny, so good to see your post! Hope your blood test returns with good news. God bless Victoria!
Ice cream: chocolate or vanilla custard. If we make homemade, I use heavy cream and lots of eggs. Right now, I'm craving pecan pie (Lucy's name for the month always makes me taste it in my mind).
Shragae is to have knee surgery sometime this week, so she may be off-line for a few days.
The new roof is going on our church buildings. If it doesn't rain, they will surely finish today
Not much to report here . . . the weather is nasty again -- yesterday it was 70º and beautiful. Today, not so much.
I'll be paying bills, fixing lunch and (I hope) making a pickup order for Walmart.
Hope to BBL! ~~Molly

I have been outside doing somethings and also just dropped off Emma's books at the Library. My DGD had to call and get them renewed, Emma wasn't ready yet to "give" them back. They were getting some new furniture for the meeting room. Still in big boxes so will get to see what they got when I go in the next time. Said they were donated. they were really excited to get the big boxes opened. I had to park in the Handicap parking space, big truck in way.
The dumpster is full for pick up Friday morning, yep I weeded out more things. Looks like rain any minute so won't start decorating the porch railing. Guess I am a fair weather person these days.
Good to see Jenny's post!! Hope she gets good news from her blood work and keep up trying to get her strength back. Jenny was wondering if you had some therapy at home yet. My brother had to have quite a bit after his bout with Staph infection . He was very week and could not get out of bed by himself for quite awhile. Hope that is not the case with you. I know you had different infection but they kind of do the same things sometimes.
Lucy, I like those days, I call them 'HONEY DO " days, started with my DH now it is my DSIL. He says he has my last 2 door knobs. These are for bedrooms doors and he will bring them with him at thanksgiving. He is not good with just sitting around in any situation. I'm good with that.
It is 61° out there very over cast and did get over to my neighbor"s to tighten the cover on the bench in her yard. Not sure why she wanted it covered , It is not in very good condition but I did it for her, and think it will stay on through all the winter storms now.
My favorite ice cream is butter pecan with lots of pecans in it. I don't usually like ice cream with cake but boy some pies are just so much better with ice cream.

Hi!
Jenny, thanks for checking in. It was very good to see your post. I'm glad Victoria is helping.
Connie, thanks for starting the thread. You do a good job!
Nate is okay -- no concussion -- But he is very sore and bruised. The discharge lady said since it was hit and run, the insurance might not pay. I don't understand that. Hope she got it wrong.
Tomorrow our cleaning lady should be here -- I hope she is! She has been in Mexico for a month for her mother's memorial service.
I got a new pair of shoes this morning to wear when I take the braces off. $$$ ouch!
Hugs!
Diane

I am back from my weekly shopping trip......yippee!, it is over for this week! I was looking for turkey thighs so I can make us a small Thanksgiving dinner just for us since my kids will be in the desert but couldn't find any. I will shop again next Wednesday and if I can't find them at Smart "n" Final I will go to either Walmart or Albertson's to look for them. I brown them and then put them in a pan with a dressing mix and bake them until done with a thermometer in them. Have done several times over our 18 yrs. together. I will probably bake Jim's SF apple pie which he loves.
Jenny: Was so good to hear from you. Prayers are still going for you!
See you all later for tuck-in!

How wonderful to see a post from Jenny today. Hope you will be able to more frequently now but your health comes first, so don't over do. I too was glad to see that Victoria is such a big help to you. I know you are happy you have her coming everyday. I am still praying for you.
This has been sort of a crazy day & it isn't over yet. Too many things were scheduled & I had to cancel one till tomorrow. Now tomorrow is looking busier then I had hoped for. I am ready for some "do nothing" days again.
I got a notice that my new computer was suppose to be here today but so far haven't seen Fed X. When it gets here I will take it with the old one to get everything transferred. That means I will be MIA a few days. Hope it's not over the weekend.
We have a Don't Munch Alone Bunch (DMAB) group at church. We go out to eat one day a month & today we attended a neighboring church's communitty Thanksgiving Dinner. They don't charge for it but take contributions & suggest you bring two canned items for the local food pantry. Today's $$ contributions will go to the volunteer fire department. Good community causes to give too.
The sciatica nerve is feeling better today then yesterday. Why did I wait & suffer so long before I got the injection?
The temperature is dropping. Was very warm for this time of year when I got up - 57 degrees. I know Lucy, not exactly a heat wave by TX standards. Next week they say there are a couple nights we will get down in the teens. That can change in a week though & be either warmer or colder.

hi friends, I have been in my sewing room since before lunch just cutting and trying to find a pattern I know I have.found the book I was looking for to loan to NITA.
isn't it madding when you know you have something and can't find it???
KATHIE call around and if they say they have turkeys go get one.ELAINE in CA
(use to be puppies) on the old ww threads, called Walmart and Ralph's, out of turkeys. we got ours last Thursday after going to 4 stores to find a small one. we should have bought it the weekend before they were on sale. we thought just get it and stop running around.
the only reason we went to 4 stores was for a small one. the other stores were to big. seems to be enough turkeys around in our area, by this weekend who knows.we watched a few people grab 2 turkeys.
PR0BABLY 6-7 years ago Delona and I were in MCD'S and we watched a customer open up the napkin holder and grab a bunch of napkins and put them in a bag and leave.in. this am Don went to get groceries,he watched a couple ready to go out the door and start putting the wipes for baskets in a bag.what some people won't do.
poor DELONA has a infection in her front tooth and is on anti-botics. started Thursday and by Friday was n her dentist office.she is being sent to the same encondontist place I was can't get in TILL Dec OR Jan 3rd I forgot which date.
Marlene you are warmer then we are. it was 41 when we got up and our high was 47 a little windy.
JENNY, nice to hear from you, please keep trying to get stronger. phyl

Back again!
Diane, such good news that Nate is okay. Did he get the make of the car? The color? A clear view of the driver? Would he recognize the car if he saw it again? What a terrible thing to do -- driving away from someone she hit! Bet she was on her phone!
Connie, you are a good neighbor! My geranium is still alive beside my front door. I scooted it back so that the frost wouldn't get it, but I imagine it is blooming for its final days. I don't bring them inside like I used to. They kind of have a funny fragrance, and the petals stain anything they touch.
I like butter pecan ice cream, too. It's great as a topping on apple pie or fresh apple cake.
Has anyone made the no-pecan-pecan-pie? Evidently, it's made with oatmeal. Since DGD#2 is allergic to nuts, that might be a good option for Thanksgiving. I cannot imagine my desserts without pecans. I still use them here, at home; but not to share with DD's family. DSIL and the girls don't eat mushrooms or peas; and the girls won't eat water chestnuts either. I thought I was picky! LOL!
Guy and I cooked store-bought catfish for lunch along with fried potatoes. I mixed up some cornbread as well. Everything was good. I just finished with my WM order, but cannot pickup until Friday at 10 a.m. Evidently, Thursday is popular!
Gotta go! Sleep well, my friends! ~~Mollyann

I had cornbread and buttermilk for supper. Well, I was asked to bring my fruit salad to DD's or she said bring the ingredients and we would make it Tuesday night.
Marlene a cold front is coming, temps already going down from the almost 80 today. Freeze tomorrow night it looks like. But I don't think it will be too bad Friday when son is here. Tomorrow will be about 60 but high wind so it will feel colder.
I don't remember what I wanted to say. Too many texts to reply to on my phone.
Have a good night. I will watch son's church service in a few minutes.

I couldn't get on the internet today. My computer would log on and then log off the internet. I finally reset my modem and everything seems to be OK. 1-800-GOTJUNK? came and cleaned out my garage. My garage looks huge now. I got rid of a lot of old textbooks and children's books. My daughter looked through them and took a few for Linus. Most of the stuff was from my crawl space at the house. It flooded and what was salvageable of mine came to my garage. I sorted it and junked most of it. It was good to hear from you, Jenny.

Jim did get up for lunch at almost 5 PM.....He finished his sandwich and said he was still hungry so I gave him a small bowl of stew and then some SF ice cream and then he went back to bed. I sure hope he won't ask for food when I go to bed at 11PM. Too much food and not enough staying awake.
Tucking you all in now in our blankets which is a picture of a large family sitting around a table eating Thanksgiving dinner.....All of our faces are part of the family (OUR WW FAMILY)......sweet dreams ya all!
Happy Memories Kathie
