Good morning friends, slept well and grateful. Woke up to pouring rain. 'They say' it's supposed to end late morning and I so hope so. It's difficult when you have fur kinds that just won't GO in weather!!!!
Pam you dinner yesterday and today sound equally delicious. So happy that you and Debbie are walking. For some reason I'm also having a time with the night snacking! I need to reel myself in...especially with the holidays approaching.
Wonderful news with DH wound care appointment. Praying that it continues in the right direction.
Waving and shall CBL

Breakfast and my first mug of coffee are one and done. Happy to report that my over the top Italian meal only added .4! Perhaps it'll catch up with me tomorrow. Ya never know Going to get myself 'presentable' to hit the pavement. Happy to report that our rain has stopped. No sunshine but that's okay at least we can walk Benjamin and he'll be a happy little camper! Maybe even a trip to Hannaford's for a few sale items. Waving and wishing all a wonderful OP Monday!

Good Morning, WW Friends ~
Happy Monday! We woke to temps in the 20's this morning ..... brrrr...... At least the sun is shining. I slept extremely well, and once again I credit the flannel sheets.
Ann ~ Glad you got to visit with friends the other night. I know how much fun that can be. We got to enjoy that particular pleasure on Friday night when we went out to dinner with VBF and her DH.
Judy ~ Hope all is going well at your house. Great news that your boss 'announced' that you'll be working remotely. I hope (for his sake) that he doesn't change his mind. Hang in there!
Pam ~ Congrats on DH's wound care result! I know this has been a long time coming, and you have certainly worked hard for it. Prayers that it continues!
We had a good visit with DBIL yesterday and I had a BLT salad for lunch which was very satisfying. I was going to skip supper, but then DH brought home a Subway sandwich that we split and I discovered that I WAS hungry!!
I am feeling more like myself today (less weary). I only wish I didn't have to go to school, because I have a ridiculously long grocery list and I fear there are going to be things they are out of. DH went to Kroger yesterday and looked for cranberry sauce, to no avail! I hope I do better today. That is the only thing we need for our Thanksgiving dinner. He will pick up the remainder of it on Wednesday afternoon. So, I will have to grocery shop on the way home from school (whether I feel like it or not).
BBL. Make a great day!!

Sue I hope you score all that you need at the market. Last time we were in Hannaford's the shelves were lookin' pretty bare. Yes getting together with friends really is mood elevating. Happy you enjoyed your outing as well. Also kudos on the good sleep due to the flannel sheets Nice that you are feeling less weary. In talking to Carl he thinks that the reason I'm so weary is the waiting for the test results. Still no word so now I'm going to take his advice and simply say STOP inside my head when my mind 'goes there'. Can't hurt and may help. I took a nice hood walk. Now it looks like the sun is trying to come out. Carl is out helping a neighbor with his snow blower. It won't be long before THAT TIME is upon us...... I have plenty of tomato soup on hand Waving and will CBL

Getting ready to shut down but just wanted to share this Funny story about Thanksgiving growing up!!!! We would start out with a huge salad followed by pasta and all the meats that go with it...THEN out came the turkey and all the sides....each year my mom would say 'gee...nobody likes my turkey' That being said what I wouldn't do to be back there again I do make a very small amount of pasta in her honor!

Well, nothing is so constant as change. When I got home this afternoon, I had an email from our school district superintendent telling us that tomorrow all teaching will be done remotely. That means I don't have to go in to work, so I will go to my Fitness Class early, then come back home. DH has an 8 a.m. doctor appointment, so perhaps we can have a late breakfast together. We'll see .....
I got lots of groceries (since I hadn't shopped for 2 1/2 weeks) but they were totally out of cranberry sauce. Otherwise I did pretty well. I did find Ocean Spray Cranberry Jellied Sauce on Amazon, but at what I consider a ridiculous price! Nonetheless, we may order it and then we'll have it. Our holiday is more important than saving a couple $.
Tonight we are having grilled chicken breast tenderloins, scalloped potatoes and asparagus. I am hungry, and looking forward to supper. I am currently planning my dinners for the next two nights. I got all the ingredients for Chicken Taco Soup in the Instant Pot for this weekend, as well as ingredients for Hamburger Pie (2 meals) and we have some grilled hot dogs and chili.
Wishing you all a restful and peaceful evening, and sweet dreams.

Sue hope you are good with not going into school.
Kudos on the shopping and meal prep.
I agree. A holiday is all about having your all time favorites.
Shutting down and going to read.
Sweet dreams all.

Hello friends!
I thought I would shock y'all and post two days in a row, lol.
Debbie was off to NOLA early this morning, so no walking. I slept in and enjoyed a leisurely morning of coffee and news until time to take DH to his 11:00 wound care appointment. We brainstormed with his team and came to the conclusion that is was best to leave the cast off until Monday, since the wound would almost surely leak through long before Monday. So, he is in a walking boot and I will be doing daily wound care dressing changes until next Monday. DH is excited because it means he can take a real deal shower, instead of a "birdie bath" without fear of getting a cast wet. Also, in the good news department, the wound has shrunk a little more since last Thursday. Since they didn't have to put the cast on, our appointment was over quickly. We were able to run errands and still make it home in time for a late lunch.
I got laundry going and started prepping potato salad and rice dressing for tomorrow night. We were planning to have Debbie, Pete her DH and son John & DDIL Christine who are visiting from D.C. over for dinner tomorrow night. Then, their son in NOLA asked if they could keep his 4 oldest DGKS, all less than 10 years old, who are off school for the holiday this week. We decided it would be easier for us to bring dinner to their house. Now, Abby, who loves to play with their DGKs, has been added to the mix. DH will cook ribs and I will either make a salad or green beans to round out the meal. Somewhere in the middle of the pandemonium tomorrow, I have a 9:00 bible study and a 1:30 hair appointment, as well as having to pick up Abby. Should be a full day!
I managed to get the last load of laundry done and get to yoga on time. When I returned, I had a message from a former friend/employee. I called her and learned the husband of one of our dear friends/coworkers has been diagnosed with stage 4 esophageal cancer, which has metastasized to liver and other organs. He's a great guy and it makes me so sad! I will call our friend tomorrow and also another former coworker who was in our close group to let her know what's going on. So sad to think this will be their last Christmas together. I understand they have chosen our hospice. Her mother was also one of my hospice patients.
Sue - Have you ever tried buying the fresh cranberries? The recipe on the bag is a good one. We grew up eating the sauce from the can, but after trying the fresh, nothing compares. So easy to make and I use splenda instead of sugar now. DH loves it! Isn't it weird how some days you just get REALLY hungry?!? It sounds like MI is getting the Delta surge we had a couple of months ago. Things are so much better here now, even the doctor's office is no longer requiring masks if you are vaccinated.
Ann - I read your Thanksgiving memory to DH and we both got a kick out of it. Who can eat turkey after a pasta dinner?!? What a precious memory!
Judy- Hope things are shaping up for an awesome Thanksgiving! Remember: Choose to be happy and low key, no matter what. It will all smooth out if you lead the way and set the tone. Use your mama voice, if necessary.
