WELCOME TO REGULAR & NEW POSTERS! This thread is full of encouragement & suggestions. New people, welcome! We encourage you to jump in. One day, one hour, one minute at a time is easier to handle than a week, etc. Lurkers, join in
Our goal is 21 days Binge Free (studies show 21 days to break old habits & start new ones!). Whether we make 21 or one, the point is to learn as we go, replace binges with other things to help us through stressful times. Some days are harder than others & we may slip; that's OK. The Binge Monster is in the shadows waiting to pounce. Hopefully this thread provides inspiration, courage, & support to become a Binge Survivor!
You may see different folks on different "Cycles." A Cycle is a 21 day block of consecutive binge-free days. Stay with us for as many cycles as you'd like.Everyone's definition of a BINGE is different. The Oxford Dictionary defines a binge as a spree of eating and drinking. To many of us, BINGE is defined as "eating without dignity." The dictionary defines "dignity" as a calm and serious manner or style, showing suitable formality or indicating that one deserves respect. Only you can define what a binge is for you. Going over points, as long as it was done with dignity and journaled (thereforeacknowledged and "owned") isn't binging--it is up to you to decide.
SPECIAL THANKS TO LESLIE5609 for starting this challenge on the Out of Control Board, in August '02, and thanks to all who keep it going.

C121D9, 1474 calories, 21 points.
Windows cleaned. He did a beautiful job. No longer a hint of mold. It was like magic.
Nope - change that to C121D1 -- binge. I'm tempted to just take a break from tracking (it's getting on my nerves) until either Saturday which starts my new week or else Monday when the kids leave. I don't want to binge for a week. Instead I'd like to be careful and maybe "normal" - though I know that never works out. This time around, I'll keep reading and posting but without the stats. Maybe I'll even write down what I eat just to keep some semblence of control. Wish me luck BFFs.

1945 calories 1261 exercise calories 109g protein 31g fiber 21/22 November
I have a rare weekday morning off. It was nice to sleep until 6:30 and relax on the couch with my coffee. The sun will be shining on our run which is a nice change this time of year.
Surprisingly I wasn’t any hungrier than usual yesterday after a light protein day on Sunday.
Nancy, not too long ago you went a couple of weeks without tracking and did well. You can do it again for a week, right? I don’t use my air fryer basket very often because I hate cleaning it. One of the boys did frozen fried chicken in it a few weeks ago and it was a mess. I put it in my new dishwasher and it came out like new, so I’ll start using it. I’ve done roasted veggies, chickpeas, bacon (not for me, obviously), reheated lasagna…

Day 3. Day 2 was imperfect but not horrible. Moving on. There's a Thanksgiving service tonight at church and I'm planning on having a piece of pie - that's it. Tomorrow's eating can be healthy, and I'm making plans for Thursday, as I'm sure you all are.
Nancy: I agree with Jan - you can do a week of untracked normal. And I've been thinking that for Thanksgiving, "normal" has to mean OUR definition of relatively healthy normal; NOT the typical American glutfest normal that is Thanksgiving.
Waving to all. Peace, and of course, gratefulness.

It's nice and quiet at work.... Some news about DS and GF in Texas. His old bosses reached out to him and offered him a job in Colorado about a month ago. Since then, his GF found out she can transfer with her company to CO also. So, after interviews, negotiations etc., both accepted the new jobs last week. Listed their house last Friday and signed a contract 24hr later. Everything has lined up so well for both of them, truly meant to be! DH and I so happy for both of them and are excited for us (since we both enjoyed our trips to CO) and will now have new areas to explore. Since this all is happening so fast, all Christmas plans are up in the air. They don’t even know what state they’ll be in. We will celebrate with them just not sure when or where. Times like this, I’m grateful DH and I both have large families and lots of relatives to celebrate with.
Nancy, I think if you make the main focus on staying in control and avoiding the binge monster, you'll be fine.
Jan, That's the way I like to spend my mornings....at least once a week. Interesting but good to know the light protein day did no harm....
Meg, Every day we try is a good day! Enjoy the slice of pie!
Have a great day, Ladies!

Jam - cleaning the basket was in issue for me as well, but now I have three of them so might as well start using them. If the dishwasher works, so much the better.
Meg - So far I've been writing down everything I eat but without tracking. It makes me think twice before overindulging.
Lori - Best news ever about DS and GF - both actively employed in the same city. A nice destination for you and DH.
