WELCOME TO REGULAR & NEW POSTERS! This thread is full of encouragement & suggestions. New people, welcome! We encourage you to jump in. One day, one hour, one minute at a time is easier to handle than a week, etc. Lurkers, join in
Our goal is 21 days Binge Free (studies show 21 days to break old habits & start new ones!). Whether we make 21 or one, the point is to learn as we go, replace binges with other things to help us through stressful times. Some days are harder than others & we may slip; that's OK. The Binge Monster is in the shadows waiting to pounce. Hopefully this thread provides inspiration, courage, & support to become a Binge Survivor!
You may see different folks on different "Cycles." A Cycle is a 21 day block of consecutive binge-free days. Stay with us for as many cycles as you'd like.Everyone's definition of a BINGE is different. The Oxford Dictionary defines a binge as a spree of eating and drinking. To many of us, BINGE is defined as "eating without dignity." The dictionary defines "dignity" as a calm and serious manner or style, showing suitable formality or indicating that one deserves respect. Only you can define what a binge is for you. Going over points, as long as it was done with dignity and journaled (thereforeacknowledged and "owned") isn't binging--it is up to you to decide.
SPECIAL THANKS TO LESLIE5609 for starting this challenge on the Out of Control Board, in August '02, and thanks to all who keep it going.

Yesterday went well. Made 3 batches of cake balls for a cookie exchange and had DH as taste tester. Today will be the brunch shower challenge. Just hoping to stay in control.
Kathy, impressed with Thanksgiving...both with your DH making dinner and how you handled - very well done!
Nancy, Enjoy your time with family! Lunch sounds yummy!
Meg, Your family gatherings sound like so much fun!
Jan, Hope your Thanksgiving went well dinner your enjoying your shopping day. Wondering, what is your favorite cake ball combo? And what do you use for your coating? I was using almond bark but having trouble finding it this year....
Have a Wonderful day everyone!

C60. D17. OP. Tracking. Yoga + stationary bike. Still hoping for a dog walk this afternoon - but another windy day... We'll see. But I got in 40 minutes of yoga and 60 minutes of stationary bike, regardless.
Lori - impressive to make the sweet and not indulge in bites, licks, and tastes! I love to bake bread - have all kinds of flours and ingredients. But I had to stop because I simply overate on oven fresh bread.
Nancy - enjoy your time with family. You have a good plan to get back on track afterwards.
Meg - glad you had a delightful time with family. I hope to do the same as you, one day, move to be close to family and be part of the care team for grandkids! Hope your healthy eating is getting back on track.
Jan - hope you are having a great long weekend.
Hi to all who follow.
Kathy

FYI- Scale up #1 for weigh in today. I lost #4.8 last week's weigh in, thanks to the flu. So I am HAPPY to keep off #3.8 of the flu weight loss.

Still off program. One more day. So looking forward to tomorrow when I plan to be back on the beam. Grace's BF (of 2 years) got a really good job in cyber security and her part time job (online) will continue full time after graduation. They're going to be moving to Dallas - already chose a lovely apartment in a nice building with amenities. Cathy's in Hawaii shopping for furniture for their condo. Steve will join her next week and Grace heading there in 3 weeks. Leila face timed me from the beach. Columbus family just got back from 5 days in Naples with another family. Their lives are so much more adventurous than ours ever was. Talk about gratitude.
Lori - Even if the brunch leads to some indulging, I know you'll stay strong before and after, so any damage will be minimal.
Kathy - Awesome that you're holding onto that weight loss and nearing another cycle. Just 5 days to go. Hang tough GF.

Day 2. Good morning. Higher calories yesterday but I was in control and kept to my plan.
Lori: Cake balls? Tell me more.
Kathy: I miss baking bread. I just can't resist it, and now with diabetes, it's one thing I can't afford to indulge in! Good for you on all the exercise and keeping the hanging onto the flu loss.
Nancy: FaceTime from the beach - sigh. Here's to getting fully back on track tomorrow.
Peace.

Meg - WTG! For me "control" is the pertinent word.
