WELCOME TO REGULAR & NEW POSTERS! This thread is full of encouragement & suggestions. New people, welcome! We encourage you to jump in. One day, one hour, one minute at a time is easier to handle than a week, etc. Lurkers, join in
Our goal is 21 days Binge Free (studies show 21 days to break old habits & start new ones!). Whether we make 21 or one, the point is to learn as we go, replace binges with other things to help us through stressful times. Some days are harder than others & we may slip; that's OK. The Binge Monster is in the shadows waiting to pounce. Hopefully this thread provides inspiration, courage, & support to become a Binge Survivor!
You may see different folks on different "Cycles." A Cycle is a 21 day block of consecutive binge-free days. Stay with us for as many cycles as you'd like.Everyone's definition of a BINGE is different. The Oxford Dictionary defines a binge as a spree of eating and drinking. To many of us, BINGE is defined as "eating without dignity." The dictionary defines "dignity" as a calm and serious manner or style, showing suitable formality or indicating that one deserves respect. Only you can define what a binge is for you. Going over points, as long as it was done with dignity and journaled (thereforeacknowledged and "owned") isn't binging--it is up to you to decide.
SPECIAL THANKS TO LESLIE5609 for starting this challenge on the Out of Control Board, in August '02, and thanks to all who keep it going.

1831 calories 725 exercise calories 94g protein 29g fiber 25/30 November
I ended November being on-plan 83% of the time. I’ll take it! December will have more challenges so I will plan each week as it comes. Ideally, I’d like to be on plan 75% of my days but I think that’s a stretch. I know 70% realistic and achievable; it would allow me 9 untracked days. I am planning treats into each day. Lately I’ve been having some chocolate.
I sent out a group text to my family yesterday telling them they will need to step up for the month of December. I’m finding myself very overwhelmed and my grown boys will need to contribute a bit to everyday tasks in our home. I was very specific for what I needed yesterday and came home to the cat having been fed and insulin given, and dinner made and mostly cleaned up. We’ll see if it continues. I’m not going to kill myself trying to do everything. Speaking of cats, our oldest girl who just turned 13 (I think) has been missing for about a month. We feared coyotes. Our neighbor found her in his barn on the seat of his tractor. He thought she was sleeping. 😢 DH buried her yesterday afternoon.
Nancy, let’s hope your foot continues to feel good. I think following nutritional guidelines makes a difference, though I don’t always do it. Occasionally I’ll settle for just meeting my calorie goal.
Lori, I did spice cake with lemon frosting and white chocolate for my mom’s birthday in April. I haven’t made any yet this year. I think for my annual cookie exchange I’m going to do peanut butter fudge. I’m just so busy this year with my new job and the home renovations, and I figure since I’m hosting it I can do something fast and easy.
Kathy, so you escaped with under a cup of eggnog. I consider that a win.
Meg, I realize many of your recipes are probably on cards or in books, but MFP has a great option to copy the URL of an online recipe right into MFP. Fast and easy, but sometimes that one extra step is one thing too many to do. I get it!

C60. D21!! OP. Tracking. Yoga + stationary bike + short walk. Doing backbends to stay under 25 points per day (15 dailies + 10 points still gets me a blue 🔵 dot). Last night it was 2oz of Fireball whiskey (6 points) that brought me.right up to 25.
Jan - hope your family continues to take responsibility for the home. It is too much to take care of full-grown adult men!
Hope everyone has a great day.
Kathy

Jan - I think WW used to tell us to take 10 days off for the holidays. I'm not sure if that included Thanksgiving. So sad about the cat. As you know, I am a big believer in delegating. WTG!
Kathy - I'll never figure out the blue dots. I'm simply kvelling at D21!!!!

Day 6. Tough day at work, but eating is on plan.
Jan: Excellent communication with the guys! You may need to follow up with some reminder, OR specifics of what you want done. So sorry about the cat.
Kvelling for all of us!!

Meg - How are you liking planning in advance? Do you find youself obsessively sticking to the plan or do you tend to veer from it on occasion? I have two events coming up this month, both luncheons. My plan is to enjoy and isolate those two meals but plan the rest of those days in advance. I'll calculate the average calories of my usual lunches and deduct those calories from my allowable calories. So if average lunches are 300 calories, I'll allow 1200-300=900 calories for the rest of the day. That way I'll be in control without being overly restrictive before and after. It's only two meals out of a whole month. I'm hoping the damage will be minimal. What do you think?
