Our pest guy finally did call last night about the mice but we had gone to the Bradley game so got his message when we got home so I called and left him a message to call us back today.
Bradley did win their game but only by the skin of their teeth. They played a good first half but fell apart in the second half and lost a fantastic lead and only won by two points. It was a conference game so lucky for them that they won. Normally they donāt play conference games until closer to Christmas but we found out other teams in the league had the chance to play big ten teams during that time so the conference moved up this game to free up that time so they could get exposure to what itās like playing big ten teams. They play again on Saturday but this is a non-conference game. One thing that did surprise me was how sparse the crowd was. Fred had gone to the game last Saturday and said this many was a really big improvement over Saturdayās game but I doubt there was even 3,000 when itās normally around 6-8,000. People did wear masks coming in but everyone took them off when they got to their seats, us included.
Debbie is in town today getting new brakes on Maijaās Mazda so Fred will pick her up at Meineke and sheāll visit with us while the car gets done.
I was trying to think of a special treat for Fred and me if we donāt go to Debbieās for Christmas and my sister messaged me that she was going to have a variety of cookies for her family. I bake very little these days and not cookies at all but our bakery makes some delicious ones so I might get a couple for us as I just want a little treat not something thatās here tempting me. I might also get one of their Danish for us to share with eggs Christmas morning.

Good Morning!
Today is my ladies group's annual Christmas lunch and white elephant gift exchange. We always have a good time. We missed it last year. This particular restaurant has a great outdoor space. I just hope it is warm enough.
Just for fun.... QOTD: If you had to be trapped in a TV show for a month, which show would you choose?

Good morning!
I'm feeling very chipper this morning and even got some household chores done without using my walker! Today marks exactly 2 weeks since my left total knee replacement surgery.
If I had to live in a TV location for a month... Well, it isn't a TV location but I watched Pollyanna on Disney last night and I wouldn't mind living in that town even with Polly being a bit of a pill LOL.
Then I watched The Mandalorian and I wouldn't like to live either on his decrepit old spaceship or on Tatooine home planet of Luke Skywalker. It's a great show though...

Good morning. Wonderful show last night. Mostly Christmas but a few other numbers. Light show and special effects were breathtaking. Off in a little over an hour for Chattanooga and football afternoon. After today my life should slow a little.
Sharagea ( I know not spelled right). What wonder progress you are making. I've been there and was not the champ you are.

AOTD: Originally I thought of Sex in the City. New York City...what fun! But after much consideration I decided on Rick Steve's Europe Season 9 which included Italy, England, Germany, Bulgaria and Romania. Is that cheating? LOL

Good morning
Shragae I havenāt had such surgery but you do seem to be breaking records in your progress! Kudos!
Sandy good that it will be pros vs mice. They need to go!
Jane, hope your microwave is installed today. Nothing lasts long these days.
Geri glad youāre up and about feeling better!
Things are getting done around here! A generator was installed since the 5 day power outage was a big inconvenience. The huge tree that came down in the storm was removed. The exterior and interior is decorated beautifully. In spite of 3 littles those kids get things done!
It was good news yesterday. My yoga instructor has requested to add an intermediate class for those who attend regularly and can handle it. She doesnāt want to discourage drop ins, beginners or physical limitations. We had about 24 in class yesterday. PT told me to strengthen my legs to alleviate the occasional weak knee and these classes did it! I havenāt felt my knee give out in weeks! My arm is still tender just at the point if the injection. Iāve begun to feel so much better since āstone removalā. So exciting to feel like my āoldā old self. Lol
Pat, Iām another with a bad news story about reverse mortgage. From my knowledge I advised a friend against it for all of the reasons others stated. She was convinced by the lenders, who charged huge fees, that this would be different. She just wanted to stay in her house and didnāt care about equity, etc. Turned out she needed to move and needless to say things didnāt end well.
Sharon it sounds like youāre ready to put the tools away and enjoy the holidays! Gail you will be busy nonstop celebrating with all of your new groups! Ruth you and Mike are both energizer bunnies always on the go. You seem to have your diet plan well under control. Karen E how is your kitty doing without his side kick? Itās good that your bank was careful about your security. Itās a different world! Karen C how was the Indian food. I hope someday to try a popular restaurant nearby. Vicki I hope things are looking up today. If the workers havenāt a clue about the vanity tops etc could you call the office. They may need a reminder to step it up, again!
Iām off to Yoga Fitness, a favorite class. She warms up every body part as we go along so by the end I feel like an elastic. Just great! Then I must swim!
Have a lovely day all!

Omg Ruth, Rick Steveās is a great answer. My AOTD: was going to be Escape To The Country. Itās a British show like house hunters but the British countryside and small market towns are beautiful.
Like Shragae there are other shows I like but not where Iād spend time.
As for yesterdayās challenge question I am adding less sugar. I donāt need to be baking for Don and I. Also heās not burning calories like he did in the summer. However he will buy cookies and such, not a problem for me because of my allergy.
DGS understood about our not coming to the graduation. Heās getting streaming info for us. Iām sure DS and DDIL were a little relieved. Theyād have to pick us up at the hotel early morning and bring us back at night. It was going to be a full day of special events. They wonāt have to babysit us. Lol
Jane I had a dream last night and you were in it. We moved to a new house and found you had moved too and only a few houses away from us. But the developer was a little pushy and weird.
This is putting furniture together day. I took tuna noodle leftover out of the freezer for lunch and have that with No Sugar Added peaches.
B - oats, blueberries, walnuts and almond milk. L - tuna noodle and fruit D - maybe a shepherds pie kale sautĆ©ed with garlic and red pepper flakesā¦.depending on how he day goes. S - clementines
Iām getting low on produce again. I miss my Florida produce.
Have fun at your luncheon Ruth. Waving to others.

Good morning all.
It sounds like the Zoom meeting yesterday was lots of fun. Hopefully I can make the next one.
Well the leg pump company finally returned my phone call after leaving my call back number on Monday. Unfortunately they called back while we were gone. I was going to call them again but since I didn't realize they had left a message until late yesterday afternoon it was too late to call. Since we'll be gone again this afternoon I think I'll just wait and call in the morning since I plan on being home all day tomorrow.
My doctor appointment went pretty well and today I'm going with Jerry to his doctor appointment. We're both hoping she can get to the bottom of everything that's been going on with him. He still isn't sleeping well although it's better than it was. He's still pretty congested and now he's having a hard time getting his food to go down. From the tests they gave him last Sunday when we took himself to the ER, we know what it isn't. Now we just need to figure out what it is!
Hmmmmm if I could be trapped in a TV show for a month I think I'd have to say The Andy Griffith show. This town is almost like Mayberry. We even have a Mayberry Cafe where they play the TV show on small TVs mounted throughout the restaurant. With everything that's been going on I need a quiet idyllic little town to relax in and where people care about each other and front porch sitting was a regular nightly occurrence.

Our daughter got magnificent pictures of morning sunrise this morning on her way to work. I did get my shadow and morning sun dog which was on north side of sun when I started my walk but as I finished a bit overcast. Shining now bit not real bright. I know the weather wonāt stay this way but will take all I can get.
Yesterdayās question. I certainly need to cut carbs but to my walking think I am going to do a few daily set ups, starting with ten, for month of December. Todayās question. Not that I want to live in Canada but I am picking the Heartland show. It is family oriented, on a ranch, horses, beautiful scenery and family meals around the table.
Shragae, you go girl. Fairly sure I was still using Walker at two weeks but I feel they have greatly improved the surgery procedure since I had mine. My surgeries were shortly before Thanksgiving both times, but weather was more winter like than this year. Very good to hear you are feeling chipper. Great attitude. Enjoy your remodeled home.
Vicki hope you both get answers to Jerryās issues. I can attest anxiety is not usually a one time fix at least not for Steven but he has the combination of anxiety/depression and now dementia on top of those. He is much better in some areas than ten years ago. Also praying your leg pump get repaired or replaced to give you more comfort. Bathroom remodel likely add unneeded stress for both of you. Hang in there.
Sharon I can see your graduation situation and sorry you are not attending. When His Leland graduated last year wild horses were not going to keep me away, But it was not an all day affair nor was it as large a congregation. I attended one of our nieces graduation in Des Moines years ago so yes it is tiring. The very best to your grandson and his future.
Marlo, it is nice to have a generator, we do not but have wished for one a time or two. Those littles bring you so much pleasure, our have grown and all moved away except Amelia but her parents are so busy we donāt see her much. Steven and I have always saved our pennies and started a little savings for each child/grandchild, so for Christmas I am getting Amelia a Piggy Bank of some sort and put the pennies we now have in it for her. Enjoy the babies. Our cat is doing fine, actually think he is happier without her. He must have been either jealous or overprotective of her. Donāt even have to go out looking for him at night as he comes in squawking for a treat.
Jane, I so admire you, you actually go to more activities out side your home than I do. Keep dancing, swimming and playing cards. Also attend those theaters, we have a movie theater in Oskaloosa but havenāt been there in about two years.
Geri, no grass grows under your feet either. Glad you are feeling better so you can enjoy your activities. I could never keep up with Gail and her schedule and Ruth is another with such interesting adventures.
Karen C I noticed you mentioned your eyes yesterday. I am hopping after the 17th I can see better. Such a nuisance, still wishing I hadnāt had cataract surgery. Hope your great weather continues. How are the new trees doing.
Sandy I encourage you to take an extra trip around your backyard in this nice weather. Also hope the mice find another place to go. They can be a nuisance.
Pat I have seen advertising for Reverse Mortgage but have no experience in the field but something I never thought I might trust. Best of luck in whatever decision you come to. Moving or staying is a big decision to make at least for me as I claim to be a creature of habit.

Greetings: I have no personal experience nor that of friends, but it has always sounded sleazy to me. And now to hear bad stories just strengthens that belief.
What TV show would I live in? Sex and the City. I love New York. I don't know of a show that's set on a beach or it would be a hard choice, but absent that, SatC hands down.
Mahjong this afternoon. We finally pulled together enough for Bill to have a poker game today. The majority of players are retired so it's in the afternoon. One guy still works, but I don't think a night game would get off the ground with this group. His first game is this afternoon.
Yes, do put that brownie recipe out there, please, Ruth. It sounds pretty unusual.
i went to my now-regular exercise class. The leader compliments me on my form. Today we talked about planks. I do want to get back to where I was, 95 seconds. She thinks I could do 30 easy, and when she asked, I said I hadn't timed myself since before Covid. So, I think that's in order. I can tell she really wants to ask how old I am, but is holding back.
Vicki, keep your spirits up. This too, all these things, shall pass.
Well, I need to hit the shower or I'll run out of time. Mahjong is close enough I'm going to walk. And take my flashlight. We stop at 4 and I should be home before it gets really dark, but you never know!
Sharon, good to have so many things done for your house. Streaming graduation sounds perfect! You can sit in comfort.

We had a great time at our Christmas lunch. I sat by my friend, Julia, who is also in my book club. She asked me why I was not going to the Downton Abbey Christmas tea and gift exchange Saturday night. It is in Brooksville and Mike did not want me driving that far (over an hour each way) at night by myself, so she offered to drive me. So I am going! Yay! So after lunch I shopped at the mall for a gift for the gift exchange and a little Downton Abbey bling for my hair. We are dressing up and I have the perfect dress! Karen E, Yes, that is an AMAZING sunrise. We do not get many good sunrises in our area, but we get beautiful sunsets. Shragae, I am amazed at your healing progress. It is wonderful to hear of your progress. You are so motivated! Sharon, Sorry that the world is still in a bit of chaos and you are forced to miss DGS's graduation, but I totally understand. For those of you that are Aldi's shoppers, I just bought some amazing gingerbread goat cheese and spread it on a raisin rosemary pumpkin artisan crisp. What a satisfying little treat! My front window will not roll down on driver's side. It must be off the track because I can still hear the motor. I called Hyundai and they said the soonest I could get it in was FEBRUARY!!! What? ? I use my driver's window to drop off library books and use the ATM. I did not make an appointment. I will check one of the local mechanics. I did find out the reason it is so hard to get in for service is because of all of the New Yorker's coming down and getting their car repairs done while they are here. Apparently it is even worse in New York because there are almost no mechanics since everyone is moving out of New York. Not a good situation! Vicki, I think Mayberry would be an interesting place to live, too. My grandmother's town, Petersburg, Michigan was much like that.
