WELCOME TO REGULAR & NEW POSTERS! This thread is full of encouragement & suggestions. New people, welcome! We encourage you to jump in. One day, one hour, one minute at a time is easier to handle than a week, etc. Lurkers, join in
Our goal is 21 days Binge Free (studies show 21 days to break old habits & start new ones!). Whether we make 21 or one, the point is to learn as we go, replace binges with other things to help us through stressful times. Some days are harder than others & we may slip; that's OK. The Binge Monster is in the shadows waiting to pounce. Hopefully this thread provides inspiration, courage, & support to become a Binge Survivor!
You may see different folks on different "Cycles." A Cycle is a 21 day block of consecutive binge-free days. Stay with us for as many cycles as you'd like.Everyone's definition of a BINGE is different. The Oxford Dictionary defines a binge as a spree of eating and drinking. To many of us, BINGE is defined as "eating without dignity." The dictionary defines "dignity" as a calm and serious manner or style, showing suitable formality or indicating that one deserves respect. Only you can define what a binge is for you. Going over points, as long as it was done with dignity and journaled (thereforeacknowledged and "owned") isn't binging--it is up to you to decide.
SPECIAL THANKS TO LESLIE5609 for starting this challenge on the Out of Control Board, in August '02, and thanks to all who keep it going.

C121D6, 1197 calories, 19 old purple points, all nutritional values in line, piano lesson so no exercise. I pay for 45 minutes and the lesson is rarely less than 1-1/2 hrs.
A friend of mine is my teacher's friend as well, another friend takes lessons from her and a third friend and I have played duets over time and have the piano interest in common. We also got a brand new lucious piano at the clubhouse. So we have a plan. My teacher and I and the three friends are going to meet at the clubhouse and play for each other. No audience we hope, just us. Then my friend will have us over to her home for dessert and coffee. That will be in the end of January and should be a lovely afternoon. I'm going to be playing "As Time Goes By" (solo) and "Imagine" (a duet with my teacher), Also "Give My Regards to Broadway (also a duet but with my friend). I'm guessing this will turn into an annual event.

1970 calories 962 exercise calories 102g protein 39g fiber 2/2 December
I’m working until around noon today, then doing some Christmas shopping and getting a pedicure. The last few years I’ve really struggled with ingrown nails and monthly pedicures have helped immensely. I’m hoping to make a nice dent in decorating tonight.
Meg, how did DH’s food prep go? Great adjustment last night! I’ve found myself doing something similar a few times recently. It really helps keep the feeling of deprivation at bay.
Lori, have fun tonight!
Nancy, the piano “recital” sounds like fun! I played for many years growing up but haven’t played in probably 30 years. My parents saved our parlor grand piano for me but eventually gave it away when they realized I’d probably never live in a house that could hold it. So glad your aide can over Saturdays; let’s hope the agency can round someone up for you soon.

It’s so nice to be caught up at work….
Meg, love how you handled the tart – a very “Heaher, HSM” way!!!..lol Big Win!!!
Nancy, You should record the piano “recital”. It would be Wonderful to be able to listen and share if you wanted to….Love how you are so on program!
Jan, last night, I was putting together my 12, 1 dozen cookie exchange bags. Happy I was able to fit one cake ball into my day. I had the vanilla oreo+ cream cheese+ vanilla coating, really good! Made it so DS can enjoy them, he won’t touch anything chocolate. The next one I want to taste is the carrot cake+cream cheese…..Enjoy your afternoon!
Kathy, Hope your new cycle is off to a great start!
My December goal, make it through the month without a binge and to stay in my maintenance range.

Day 8. Happy Friday, all. Woke up way too early, did my rowing, worked, and all that jazz. Eating is on track, but I did struggle a bit: DH had 2 of the GKs over here and they made brownies AND had ice cream Sigh. I had one nibble of brownie and then walked away. But it was hard.
Nancy: I love your plan for a piano recital! It really does sound fun. Any way I can get a little recording of you playing one of your songs? Just a phone recording from home would be great.
Jan: DH did well on his chopping. (I always have to go through and pick out some onion skins, but that's OK>)
Lori: Re. the tart, I thought about cutting it in half and having the rest the next day, but I didn't want it messing up my plans, if that makes sense. And great December goal!
Someone please share some cake ball recipes. I think I know what you mean - like the ones on a stick Starbucks sells? This might be something fun to make with a GK?

C61. D2!!! Two cycles, back to back. Yoga. No stationary bike. No walks.
On the road. Boys basketball tournament today and tomorrow. Then to Mom's to take her in for treatment on Monday. Then 250 miles back home. I packed some healthy food.
Better watch the game 😊

Jan - What a shame about the piano. Good stats!
Lori - Those cake balls sound yummy
Meg - I don't think I could pass up brownies and ice cream. I totally understand about having the full tart rather than dealing with it the next day. It's why I never bring home half my restaurant meal even I don't consume it.
Kathy - I was wondering if it was a back to back. I thought so. kudos! Do you drive both 250's in the same day? I'd fall asleep on the road. Be careful!!!
