We are all born in 1953 and are at different stages in our WW journey. This is a safe place to come and vent, celebrate or just toot our own horns. We get together every day so pull up a chair and join the fun and fellowship. We're glad you're here!

Good morning, everyone!
Cloudy outside this morning and 30 degrees.
shragae, I'm glad that you're making progress with your knee. Every person I know of who has had knee replacement surgery has told me that the pain lasts quite some time. Don't hesitate to ask your health care providers for help with that. I'm also glad to know that your home improvement changes are going well. I wouldn't worry too much about a weight gain at this point, though I realize it's frustrating. You're going through a lot right now, and your weight may stabilize later.
Vicki, sorry about the power recliner failing and the difficulty in getting it repaired.
My book discussion group meets this afternoon.
I also need to go to the post office this morning.
Have a great day! Joan

Joan I think the most frustrating part of any recovery is the wanting to get out and do things but you really aren't ready yet. I'm antsy to get on with life LOL!
I'm very very happy with how the house is looking. It just makes me happy to look around and see how bright and shiny it is like a new penny. I'm hoping the floors show up next week but if they don't they will show up eventually...
I'm a pretty happy person. This time of year in particular makes me happy. I grew up in a Catholic town in Middle America. Although I never wanted to be a Christian this season when people are so happy and things are beautified with wreaths and greenery and lights... Even for a non-Christian it is a very special time of year.
I know what you mean about the pain. I managed to get off the opioids pretty quickly but I am still taking a very strong NSAID at bedtime and sometimes a muscle relaxer too. I also keep my knee brace in the freezer and I find that if the knee begins to become painful icing it and elevating it really helps.
I'm probably the youngest one here on this page since my birthday is actually the last day of 1953. So very hard to believe I will be 68! G-d bless everyone and have a good day.

Good morning all.
Sunny and 42 degrees this morning.
Yesterday DH was doing pretty well but not so much this morning. Although some of his symptoms have lessened, he's extremely tired today. I'm getting worried this is something more serious. He sees the doctor again in 3 weeks.
Joan, enjoy your book discussion group.
Shragae, I don't like being on opioids either and always took myself off of them as soon as I was able to tolerate the pain. Keep doing what you're doing. Your progress is fantastic!

Good morning, everyone!
Cloudy outside this morning and 28 degrees. We had about an inch of snow last night, but the weather service predicts it will melt this afternoon.
shragae, while you are the youngest born in 1953, I'm fairly close, since my birthday is a week from today.
Vicki, I hope your DH is feeling better.
The Vikings have a game at noon.
Have a great day! Joan

Good morning!
Joan, you are not far older than me LOL. Here is an early happy birthday for you!
Vicki I hope your husband is feeling better.
I got a call from Lumber Liquidators yesterday that my floors are in! Yay! I wasn't really expecting them until maybe next week or even the week after! I was so excited and my installer thought he could put them in this week if I got them delivered but then my son asked me to hold off for a week.
My son has his stat final a week from today and he wants to avoid the noise and craziness that will accompany getting the floors delivered and installed. I totally understand that.
He is taking the car to go to work today so I probably get to Lumber Liquidators tomorrow to pay the balance off and schedule delivery for a week from Monday if I can. Then all of my remodeling will be done for now!
Well except my front door needs painting and I probably will need to paint the risers on the stairs and the new baseboards upstairs... That is something I should easily do myself if I didn't have a new knee... I may just let it wait a month or so so that I can do it and save a little money...
Have a great day I'm off for my third cup of coffee!

Good morning.
Overcast and 39 degrees this morning. Rain expected later on today but thankfully it's too warm for snow.
Yesterday turned into not a very good day. DH wasn't feeling well at all and our DD ended up taking him in to the ER. They ran several tests and the only thing they could find was that he needed to have his esophagus stretched and that was probably the cause of all the anxiety which has been extremely crippling for him the past few weeks. The doctor did prescribe an anti anxiety med and he took it last night. He finally got a decent night's sleep and he's still a bit groggy this morning. They also told him to eat soft foods and no meat. They contacted a gastrologist and his office is supposed to call on Monday to set up an appointment. Between the bathroom remodels, my new leg pump not working, the 3 yr old power recliner deciding to quit working and DH's health issues over the past few weeks, it's almost overwhelming me. Thankfully I have a strong faith and a good support system.
Joan, good luck to the Vikings today. Colts play at 1pm so I'm homing they win their game too.
Shragae, by the time you're all finished with your house it will look brand new! The next big project we need to do is new carpeting but that's going to have to wait until this summer.
