Happy Day All!
Just starting us up this morning. I've been MIA for a couple of days, just busy and a bit stressed. All is okay, just me. Tell you later!
Cheers!

Good morning Penny and ATF. I certainly can understand stress this time of the year. Hope things improve. I've found that deep breathing and meditation are helpful.
Cold here this morning and snow in the forecast. Mostly for northern MN but we might get a little here. Hoping the roads are clear Monday morning so I can get to Rochester to be there with my son when his wife is in surgery. Not good to sit alone during that time.
Have to get to the grocery store and Joanns today. Didn't get it done yesterday because my DS needed to be picked up at a car dealer and then he took me out for lunch and when we got back he put the new belt on my vacuum. By that time I was out of the mood to go shopping. I'm almost out of white baby yarn for the blanket I'm making. Not much else planned for the day. Going to a Japanese seafood/steak restaurant with my family for supper. A birthday celebration for DGS and I guess an anniversary celebration for me. I'm happy to celebrate my DGS birthday but how do I celebrate my anniversary when my other half is gone.
Ozzie got a short walk this morning. I can tell the weather is changing, aching all over and the Tylenol isn't doing much for that. Off to the store now before it gets too crowded. bettyj

Good morning everyone
Today is WW weigh in day at the studio. Hopefully it will get logged in correctly and the issue is over. My account has not been recognizing my weight to receive the lifetime free benefits.
Today also will be working in the garage getting the bedroom furniture pulled out and ready for donation. They will be here on Thursday.
Penny- I pray all is ok with you and your family.
Betty- the gathering tonight sounds nice. You have a great family.
Shragae- hope you are healing up nicely.

Morning All!
Betty you sound like you had a really busy day yesterday. It warms my heart to hear how your family supports and comforts one another. Must be your good example! Enjoy your dinner and I sympathize with your feelings about the cold.
There was a local news story this morning about a dog fighting ring here in NJ. One Pitbull, lovingly named Terry, passed away from wounds received over countless times as a bait dog in the ring. The pictures were horrendous. There is another dog that is just barely hanging on – looking for support for her vet bills. There should be a special place in Hell, for those people who abuse animals. There is just no way to understand, rationalize or condone the deliberate cruelty. Cultural or not – it’s just plain nasty!
Lin you always amaze me with the meals you prepare. I do hope that you enjoy making them and that DH really appreciates the time and effort you put into them. Just creating the variety that you do would exhaust me. The cookbook sounds interesting. I’m afraid I like reading them more than I like preparing meals from them. I look forward to hearing about your creations, all the while I eat my plain and rather uninteresting meals here in this house.
Today’s plans are pretty boring. Going to do laps- couldn’t yesterday, the knees were screaming. But with a day’s rest in between, I hope they’ll let me get some healthy activity in. Also plan to decorate my mini house for the holidays. I have to change the side yard into a snow covered area and put out my Christmas tree. Think that’s all the decorating I’ll do this year. That’s known as decorating on a small scale!
Wishing everyone a pleasant day!
Dayle

How about we have a daily steps contest. Every morning we report the total daily steps from the day before. The winner each day wears virtual golden walking shoes. Lol
If interested let’s start it on Monday.

Really have no idea how many steps, and with long legs, mine are longer, so I need fewer to get there! The dog walk is always at least half a mile. It is 40 from kitchen to master bath. This week I actually lost the half pound that came back with all the walking in errands this week. I just try to get off the chair every half hour for a bit. But boy, do I need to get with the PT exercises again.
Betty, the widows I know try to focus on good memories for the hard dates, but I think I would still find it very hard. Hugs.

Betty, I understand what you are saying about anniversary, but you did have that lovely special day years ago and I think your family just wants to honor that. I sometimes wish my kids would mention it. My DH and I had just celebrated our 41 st wedding anniversary when he died. Sometimes I forgot a lot of that wedding day, but then never do get to talk about it., so guess that is okay too. I put off all of my shopping trips. Just out of habit of shopping and lucky I get to Grocery store and Rite Aid. First of week I have a book at the library to pick up that I asked to have put on hold for me. Was going today but got busy with laundry and more decorating in the house. Christmas tree on narrow hall table in picture window. Not hard to move and does look nice there. Hallway looks a bit bare without the table though.
I had a bulb burn out here in computer room in the ceiling light. The glass is washed, new bulb put in but can't find the decorator thing that screws the glass back on. Since this room is noticeable when someone goes to bathroom across the hall I am going to take down the one in my bedroom for now. and use that knob in here. No one sees my bedroom but me and Emma when she comes. she likes my bed and the big doll on the dresser that belonged to my MOM . Will give me more light anyway with no glass over the bulbs. Not a globe just a frosted glass thing. Maybe the other screw will show up .
We have our own local maple syrup here. did hear about the shortage but none here. Loads of maple trees that get tapped each early spring . local syrup for sale in lot of stores that are not even grocery stores.
I don't keep track of steps. so many of the pedometers don't count up and down steps etc etc. I just keep busy all day most days. soon it will be shoveling snow etc. as well.

Connie, often a guy at ACE hardware can come up with that stuff. It is also on Amazon usually.

Good afternoon Penny & ATF,
Sunny this morning but now it's cloudy. Currently it's 48 here.
This morning was my weigh in at WW. I got rid of another pound. After WW I went to DD's to bring her some food that I got from the city. Too much for me and Ed so I gave her some. Stayed with the boys while mom & dad decorated windows and outside. Looks real nice.
bettyj - just wanted to mention that I don't celebrate my wedding anniversary but do celebrate the date that I got married. If that makes sense to you. You never forget and dwell on the happy times.
Now I'll get ready for 5pm mass.
Have a great rest of the day!

I didn’t think about longer legs taking less steps than people like me with short legs. So I guess a contest isn’t fair. Oh well. Lol
Weighed in at WW and it finally registered correctly and I got the email confirming I have the free benefits until February 3. Yay.
Pulled out the dresser, end table, vanity, bench, headboard, foot board and rails. It’s all lined up in the garage away from the side wall. Moved a 3 shelf wire rack that was on another area to where the dresser was. Taking a break right now. I don’t want hubby helping because he hurries through things and it won’t be done the way I want it.

dayleg, unfortunately a bad sinus infection without pack demolished DH's sense of taste for a while (certain antibiotics fo that sometimes) and a lot did not come back except bitter, salty and sweet. In other words junk food! It is sometimes thank, ess to cook dinner for him, but at least I know it is balanced! folded up five pairs of pants for Good Will today…four fit at first and then expand until the crotch is half way to my knees! Reminds me of Leggs panty hose which I swear spent the day trying to fit back into the plastic egg. The other pair actually falls off if I put a phone in the pocket. I also can wear three nice bras that had been two small band wise. Nice change.
