Iāve decided Illinois weather is even crazier this year. After saying next week we will be in the deep freeze now it says tomorrow and Tuesday low 30ās but bouncing back to 40ās and 50ās. Not that Iām complaining as the more days of snow the happier Iāll be. Wouldnāt mind it so much if it was just on the ground but hate it on sidewalks, roads and driveways.
Supposed to be church this morning but my back is bothering me so have to see how it feels as if itās sore no way can I sit in a hard pew even if itās only 40 minutes.
No mouse caught this morning so hope there are no more. I thought I saw droppings but I could be paranoid and might be that I missed sweeping some up yesterday.
Not sure about dinner today as Iām so done with the regular stuff but canāt think of something new. Ham would be nice but so much sodium and beef not tasting too good to me these days. Really tired of chicken. Might see if Fred would like Stouffers lasagna as it is so much like mine I stopped going through all the work of making it and just buy it. Havenāt had it in a while. It does have ground beef in it but thatās different than a steak or roast. It has high sodium as well but not as bad as ham plus I like it better than ham. I can buy a smaller size than the 9x13 so we only get two meals out of it as after two meals of something Iām pretty much done with it.

Good Morning!
Today Mike is showing a few million dollar beach homes to his client in St Pete and has asked me to go with him. After showing houses we will go over to Frenchyās for lunch and a nice walk on Clearwater Beach. It should be a perfect day for it.
Sandy, Like you I was wanting some a little different for dinner. You pot roast the other day sounded good and one of Mikeās favorites. It has been ages since we have had one, so it was my plan to make one today. We will be gone most of the day and Mike does not want the oven on while we are gone. So I was up at 6:30 this morning to get it started. It will be done right about the time we leave for the beach showings. Then we can just warm it up later. It smells delicious in here.

Whoops! I usually come up with a question the night before but totally forgot last night. then I slept in this morning. So let me post just that and do a few things and come back.
QOTD: How are each of your children most like you? Not like you?
See you all later!

I have a few minutes before we leave, so will try to answer QOTD.
QOTD: How are each of your children most like you? Not like you? How oldest daughter, Michelle, is most like me: she's resourceful How oldest daughter, Michelle, is least like me: she has a photographic memory (which I find amazing) How youngest daughter, Jaimie, is most like me: she's compassionate and thoughtful How youngest daughter, Jaimie, is least like me: I can't think of anything at the moment...she's a "mini me". LOL

Hi Gail. I only have one child. A son who is 22 years old who I had when I was 45 years old!
My son is so much like my father. He is far more like my father than he is me! My father was brilliant and so is my son. My father was an inventor with patents to his name... My son is also amazingly inventive. He also loves to write poetry as did my father. My father was even a published poet as a child!
He is like me in that he is very stubborn. Really everyone in my family is stubborn LOL.
He isn't like me in that he is forever being messy, dropping clothes on the floor leaving shoes laying about... I honestly think he thinks there's a magical cleaning fairy. I'm a little messy but nothing like him who leaves a dish on the counter instead of rinsing it off and putting it in the dishwasher... I've done my best to train him but sadly one day his wife will not thank me because none of it has rubbed off LOL.
I am a little past two weeks post-op on the knee replacement and although I still have stiffness and discomfort and sometimes more pain than discomfort it's a little better every day. I hope everyone has a wonderful Sunday.

None of my three are like me. I think theyāre more like Fred as they are very strong in their faith, have compassion for others and always see the good things in life and let the bad go. Plus they all love life and live it to the full and are wonderful parents. All of that is thanks to Fred, not me and I freely admit it.
I ended up buying Marie Callenderās lasagna with meat sauce as they were out of Stouffers. Will be interesting to compare it to the Stouffers. Also bought a package of four crab cakes. It was on sale for $5.99 but at checkout the sale was 2 for $8 so got it for $4!
Went to Mass and bought four ornaments from the Sisters of St. Frances of the Immaculate Conception. These are specially made for them to sell and are beautiful so we always get one for us and then for Fredās sisters. Not sure if it will continue as the guy who designs them has died.
Then we went through Hardeeās drive thru as Fred had a coupon for two bacon/egg/cheese biscuits for $3.49. Got to the window and Fred handed her $5 along with our coupon. She started to hand Fred a drink and he said thatās not my order. She looked surprised and he said I have two bacon/egg/cheese biscuits and she was like oh okay thatās $4 something and she repeated it and Fred said I already gave you my coupon and $5. She said no you didnāt as I donāt have a coupon or $5! Fred said well look again as thatās what I gave you! She kept arguing with us and I was ready to leave and then all of a sudden someone said if you look on the floor youāll see it laying there! She was like oh guess it blew off the counter, sorry. That was the extent of her apology which irritated me as she was basically accusing us of lying and trying to cheat them. Plus by then our biscuits were cold so reheated them when we got home.
Very rainy and cold out so very glad we have nowhere we have to go the rest of the day.

Good morning all.
Sandy, my Indiana weather is as crazy as your Illinois weather. We're expecting the same thing here.....cold then warm again. I'm not complaining about the no snow either. I used to love the snow but the older I get the more of a pain it is.
Ruth, enjoy your day today. It sounds so relaxing. Your outfit was just perfect yesterday for the tea. You looked positively Downton Abbyish!!
Shragae, you're doing amazing in your recovery. You'll be back to normal in no time.
Gail, that's a great QOTD. Denise is like me in that she does have my love of reading and she was a good student in school. She's like Jerry in that she's more artistic and creative than I am and she's an introvert like her dad.
Speaking of Jerry....yesterday turned out to be a very challenging day here. Jerry had a horrible night sleeping again and when Denise and Maya came over yesterday, she ended up taking him to the ER. This is the 2nd time in 2 weeks he's been there. After several more tests the only thing they could find was that the difficulty swallowing was because he needed his esophagus stretched and that was causing all the anxiety. When he was at the doctor's on Thursday she started him on a mild anti depressant but it takes time to build up in his system. She also gave him a med that would help with the anxiety immediately but it's a narcotic and he was afraid to take it. He took it when he got home yesterday and it helped but it made him drowsy. He slept really good last night but he's still a bit groggy this morning so he's only going to take a half dose when he starts to feel anxious. Needless to say between the bathroom remodels, the leg pump not working, the recliner breaking and Jerry's health issues over the past several weeks, it's almost overwhelming. Thankfully I have both a strong faith and a good support system. This too shall pass...........

Vicki. You have had so much to cope with. You really handle it well.
I do keep this group in my prayers.
I only have Jeff and somehow he is more like his father even though he didnāt live with him after he was 5 and saw little of him. He is more like me when it comes to his work ethic ..Less like me when it comes to being outgoing ..like his father and such a social person. He loves the tailgate part of the colts games and really plans for that.
Surprised that I enjoyed a Stephen King book. Billy Summers is the title and a character that I cared about ā¦.absolutely not like my two cousins named the same

Vicki yes changeable midwest weather. Hang in there friend. Gods hands is always a safe place.
I made my version of layered salad. Lettuce, celery, peas, tomatoes , shredded carrots, boiled egg slices, bacos, Mayo and dairy free cheese.
Ruth enjoy your day.
Iām unpacking books today for the new bookshelf. Hopefully we will get the finished desk in place and I can clean. I think this will be my favorite room.
AOTD: my DK are throwbacks. DS Mark is my father I swear. His son Jacob is so like my DH Don. DD Laura is like Donās mother as being passive and kind. DD Linda has a little fire and anger in her like Donās DS. Laura is creative and paints. Sheās a designer. I could have been that.
Interesting question Gail. Yours are always so good.

No rain or snow yet but not saying it wonāt as sky is very overcast, in low 40ās today. Possibly highs in 20ās Monday. Gerr. It is deer hunting season here for a few days. There are more than one season and different numbers of days depending on which season, this one may be just the weekend but sort of take my life in my own hands when taking my walk. No they are not to shoot towards the road but bullets do ricochet. I did walk yesterday and this morning, always wear my red coat.
Shargae you are doing great with your recovery please remember no matter how many months/years later just keep doing some sort of exercise to keep the knee pliable and muscles strong.
Vicki prayers for you and Jerry. A lady that attends our WW meeting, in fact was our coach now retired has to have her esophagus stretched every now and again. It has been a long stretch for you both but bathrooms will be completed soon, take care of yourself and Jerry. ššš
Stunning dress and hat you looked fabulous Ruth. You have such interesting activities. Enjoy your house tours today, I would love doing that myself.
QOTD: How are each of your children most like you? Not like you? Son is likely most like me, more laid back with life, family is of great importance to him also. Both our children have great work ethic which is Steven and I combined, Steven a bit more adventuresome. Son not like me in the money department, he likes to spend his on his interests, me I try to hang on to as much as I can.
Brenda is high strung, constantly on the go thatās from her father, Brenda is family oriented as well but likes to apply a bit more control with her daughters where I learned years ago my two wasnāt having that. Though I did try. Not really sure Brenda is much like me as most her traits are from the Evans side of family.

I probably need my esophagus stretched again. The second time I had it done the doctor noted that I quit breathing like the first time. What?! I donāt think Iāll have it done again. Iām ok as long as I remember to chew my food well before swallowing.
A bit of distraction. Santa just came by the house on a fie truck. LOL

What an absolutely crazy few days. Between setting up for our 2nd garage sale and working on a plan for our future living arrangements it's been really crazy. Today has been no different. First we went to chutch, then grocery shopping. Went to Wal-Mart first time in months. Why do I put myself through that craziness except Jerry wanted a Sam's pizza. Then picked up kids, home to fix lunch for all and finally hung a load of laundry. First time I've sat down today.
The 2nd garage sale was very successful, more so than the first one. I figured with 2 so close we wouldn't do so well. At times this past week I even considered canceling but then thought what the neck might as will go through with it. We finally sold the craft show canopy, all the jewelry display necks and earring display racks. YEAH!
Of course, we are still working on a action plan for the house. I really don't want to move. I like our house, I like our location, I like most of our neighbors and can call on them if needed. We are close to our church and shopping.
I know there are horror stories about a reverse mortgage but if we can work it out we'd like to go that route. However, I have to have the assurance that it's not going to adversely effect our kids when we go. The first company we talked to their closing costs were astronomically high. So we've contacted a realtor who got reverse mortgage for both her parents and her in-laws and both are working well. Then as luck would have it talked to the neighbor down the street and they have one and she's putting us in touch with her contact. Also talked to our daughter and son in law who will end up being our executor and he said when they got back here this month they were going to talk to us about this option as they feel it might be the best one for us. Of course, we'll do nothing without talking it over with our attorney.
Sandy I've read about you says with the mice. Reminds me of mine with snakes. Yuck! I get shivers just thinking about it. I hate snakes of any kind. Jerry and I prefer Michael Angelos lasagne to any we've tried.
With 6 kids it's hard to say what traits each has like me or not. I think my oldest daughter has my stubbornness. Rest of the kids are more like Jerry which is good. Thankfully I don't think any of them have my temper.
Speaking of my temper I finally had it with the kid next door teasing Duke over the fence and gave him a piece of my mind. His mother came to his defense, Billy would never do that sort of thing. I told her she doesn't know her son because I've stood out in the yard and heard him tease Duke and always brought Duke in. Well I'm done with it. Duke has every right to be in my yard. Next time it happens I will have a tape recorder with me to prove to his mother that he does do it. This kid isn't that young he's 16.
Please say a prayer of keep a good thought that this thing with the house gets resolved quickly. Tomorrow I start hauling good stuff to Goodwill and the rest start to dump.
Hope everyone has a good rest of the day.

Pat remind me why you wanted to move in the first place. Wasnāt it because your home was too much work? It will still be too much work if that was the reason. I canāt imagine why a realtor wouldnāt list your home. Call another realtor.

Actually, if we don't have a mortgage to pay every month, we could hire a lawn service. I can keep up the house if I don't have the yard to do too. It's trying to keep up the yard and the house that I can't do any longer.
I am still going to clean out, de-clutter, get rid of stuff no matter what we do.
It's not the realtor wouldn't list the house. It's not that she wouldn't list the house she just thought we needed more options to explore.
Nothing is engraved in granite at this point. We are still working to figure out the best option for us.
