This is a monthly thread for those of us who have a lot of weight to lose. The definition of βa lotβ is something that is determined personally, so everyone who feels they have a lot of weight to lose is welcome to post here.
Please join us in offering support, checking in for accountability, help with questions, etc. Weβre in this for the long haul.
Weβd also love to hear from those of you who are maintaining a large loss. We need those tips to help us to keep the weight off once we lose it.

Happy New Year to everyone who posts or reads this thread - wishing a good year for us all Hi sunrose - Thanks for starting our January thread I'm trying not to make too many "weight loss related" resolutions this year. I would sure like to get to the point where food isn't such an obsession for me - whether it's eating it or planning for it. But I'm not there yet. I was trying to get all the junk and/or higher calorie food out of the house by Monday, but I don't think that will be possible so I may just wait until I can do that before I start tracking. I have thrown out some food that was just pure junk and don't feel guilty about wasting that food - no one should probably be eating it anyway! I don't want to set myself up to fail right away - so I won't put that pressure on myself. At least I can continue to eat my fruits and vegetables (increasing these) each day and dairy too. And I'm challenging myself to walking 30 minutes a day for each day in January. I did walk this morning so I'm 1/31 so far Take care

hello . . .a quick check in. I'm sick again! ugh! I did the zoom meeting on Mon. I'm trying a new "habit". It's setting a time limit on when I can eat. Right now I'm just doing breakfast. My breakfast sometimes gets pushed aside for other things I have to do. So I have said breakfast has to be eaten by 11:15 am. I'm sure for most people, they would think, that's a late time but honestly, there are many days I'm eating that time and later. I wanted it to be a somewhat easy goal. Yesterday I just barely made it. Finished breakfast at 11:08. Eventually I want to use this technique to help with my big problem: SNACKS! I got my chromebook for my birthday. I'm doing pretty good with it but I guess there are a few things I still need to learn. I like how I can use the WW app on it and also healthi. If you don't see my posts, it's probably just because with being sick, I trying to rest more. But I'll be back!

Hi Linda - I'm sorry to hear you've been sick again, and hope you feel better soon. I've tried some of that timed eating, since I have problems with "out of control eating", I hope it works for you. I've done Intermittent Fasting for long periods of time where I didn't eat anything until about 1:00-2:00 P.M. each day and I finished eating by 7:00-8:00 P.M. That's good and bad for me. I can't eat as much during that small period of time, but I've found I'm forcing myself to eat when I'm not hungry and I come to the conclusion that doing that is a big part of my problems with food. So I hope to work on that this year. I didn't walk yet today, I'm going to try to force myself to do it since I'd really like to get a 31/31 for the month Hope eveyrone is doing well. Take care

Hi sunrose - Hope you are doing well. Linda - I hope you are feeling better. I'm doing pretty well. I didn't walk yesterday, but I did this morning - so that was 6 days of walking out of the first 7 in January. I think I should get credit for shoveling snow for several days I'm not eating too badly and I have a few thoughts about how I want to proceed with my eating plan - thinking about using Healthi (ITrackBites) or doing the NoBS program (maybe both). Buy I'm not feeling very energetic, or motivated, to work on them right now. I know there isn't any point in starting something if I'm not going to work with it, I'll just end up quitting after a few days or so. So I hope I can get started on something soon. In the meantime I'll just keep making sure to eat healthy foods each day. Hope everyone is doing well and that you have a good weekend

We have covid in our family. DD#3"s husband tested positive. He was tested on Wed., got results on Sun. DH feels terrible, cough, body aches, scratchy throat, nasal congestion: and I have no taste or smell along with cold symptoms. We were supposed to be getting tested today but it wasn't possible to get an appt for less than a week away. Yesterday we were about to take DH to the hosp. but decided to call drs first. Cardiac dr said no hosp. He said call primary dr to see if she can prescribe any meds. primary dr said no hosp and prescribed z-pack for nick and she said for both of us, over the counter meds. AND get tested. We have home tests arriving later today. they are not as accurate but it's all we have so we will do those. Stay healthy everyone!

Linda - I'm so sorry to hear you and your family are sick with covid. I hope the medicines you all take will help you to get better soon. Please take care of yourself and let us know how you are I've been walking, but not eating that well. I decided to weigh myself and quit avoiding the scale. I've gained back about 1/4 of the weigh I lost last year through the beginning of October I'm hoping that will motivate me to get back on track with eating well. Hope everyone else is doing well
