Good afternoon, Yes I hope that Phyl is ok- I miss hearing from her and just hope she is busy. Think she also posts on other boards, but I am too lazy to look. If she wants to stop in to say hello she will. Well, ,Ruth, maybe you will finish the afghan today, getting those border rows on. I did not know that DGS had 5 sisters!! Of course I do not really know anyones family structure…how funny a situation in that we do know each other reasonably well but not those day to day details. I give you a ton of credit for making all those different shawls and afghans for the many grandchildren you have. I would be tempted to make one shawl or afghan in different colors…but that might be boring to make so many things from the same pattern. I am sure you will find something nice to make for sister #4. Thankfully, it sounds like you have time. I love that you are planning on making the doll clothing items for next Christmas. Great planning and also provides a lot of variety of things to work on. You are very creative and inspired by many others….just make what you think is appropriate and the gifts will all be done in time for Christmas giving.
Got one quarter of the room ready to lay carpet tiles tomorrow. As it will be Sunday, I will not work a lot in that room, and hope to just catch a good football game and relax in the afternoon.
Think I will crochet this evening. There are 2 football games on, I am sort of interested in at least one of the games that is being played now.
Yikes it is cold. Ds brought in some wood for the wood burner- such a warm and comforting heat.
Cannot wait to see what CJ has done today…she gets so much quilting done in a day! Ginny

Yes that dgs has five sisters and two little brothers. He is the oldest then the five girls then finally a boy when dgs was 14 and 3 years later another surprise boy. That's my son's family. In my dd's family the oldest is a boy too then 4 girls and finally when he was 14 another boy was added. Ironically it was the same in my family. I was the oldest then had 5 brothers and finally when I was 14 I got a sister.
I forgot about the football that's being played today. Dh is watching a movie right now though and I'm too lazy to go back upstairs and watch the other tv.
Yes it sounds like you're really getting things done. I'm glad your ds brought in wood. You're right about wood fires. It's great to be able to have a wood burner. Even though the wind wasn't bad here today dh didn't feel comfortable with us having a fire. He always worries about the house catching fire ever since one of our neighbors had his house catch on fire. It wasn't from a wood burner though, it was an electrical problem in his garage

Hello Ruth - Your projects always sound so interesting, thanks for sharing them with us. The clothes for the doll year long CAL sounds really neat. I hope that you are able to get out next week to get your appointments taken care of. Ginny - I'm glad you are making progress on the floor and hope you'll be able to work on it this coming week. I hope that you stay warm too, sounds like you are getting some really cold weather. I think it's going to be cold here too, but not as cold as you. I was able to get the last 2 blocks for the Happy Everything quilt done and finished putting the top together, except for the borders. I got the fabric pressed for them, I just need to cut the strips and join them together. I'm doing a smaller inner border and a larger outer border. The quilt top is large enough that I'll have to join 2 strips together for each side. I'm pretty happy with how this ended up and I hope the borders I put on won't mess up the quilt. My outer border is a darker fabric than most of the ones in the quilt, but I'm hoping it will frame the quilt nicely. I'll just be happy to finish this quilt along so I can focus on some others and some projects I want to do. Take care everyone

CJ, from seeing the other quilt tops you've posted, I'm pretty sure that the borders you put on this one will be great. As I'm sure I mentioned before you have a great eye for picking the right colors and type of pattern such as florals, embossed, etc.
I finished the blanket!! I had quite a few ends to weave in but it was easy and didn't take too long. I ended up with only five rows of edging because at that point it looked so good that I felt it shouldn't be any larger as that might take away from the beauty of the blanket.
Now I'm waiting to hear what colors my dgd prefers. I know she used to love purple but she's older now and people's, esp children's preferences change. In the meantime I'm going to make a couple hats I think. I love making hats. Or I could try a couple more items of doll clothe

Good morning!
Yay yay yay! Ruth, so glad to hear that you finished the blanket! Good to hear that you did not have many ends to weave in, which can be such a headache if there are many to work in. Sort of like trimming threads when completing a quilt. Just when you think you are done, you are not….So now it is a waiting game for you to find out what colors DGD likes. Yes many times kids/young adults change their favorite colors , but then sometimes they stay the same. I think making a hat or two while waiting is a great idea…and keeps you busy while DGD is figuring out what her desired color is. Thanks for the explanation of your grandkids…I knew your DS had a large family, but was not sure about DD’s family size. You are so blessed to have a large family like that. BTW- the Bills play the stupid Jets today, and I figure that the Bills will win. The Jets have done a magnificent job of being awful, as usual - although they have won a few games that I thought they would normally have lost.
CJ- I am totally sure that your fabric choices for the Happy Everything borders will be perfect. Totally agree that a smaller inner border with a more wide outer border is perfect. How do you think you will finish this quilt off? Do you like it enough that you will try to have it long armed? And I do not think that the borders will mess up your quilt…you usually have a great eye for fabric and layout.
Staying put today….and am hoping to get some quilting time in. Got freezing rain headed here soon (so I better go get my paper in!!). And that darned PMQ is calling my name. I do NOT need more fabric or quilts to make. But I really like the idea of this one. And it accommodates my busy schedule.

It looks very quiet here since Ginny posted this morning. I've been cooking and baking and organizing some things. now it's 7pm, time to crochet.
I can't believe it's yet another Monday tomorrow already.
Ginny, I hope you were able to get to that quilting you wanted to get to.
CJ, I hope that you , too, were able to do some enjoyable things
Oh and I don't check the other boards anymore either so don't know what Phyl is doing. Hopefully she's doing ok
