DH and I found The Gilded Age sterile and lacking a soul. Gorgeous eye candy for sure. We are both huge Downton Abbey fans so expectations were too high, I'm sure.
I must confess we are hooked on Joe Millionaire. The friendship between the two guys is more compelling than the search for love with the women.

Friend gave same review on The Gilded Age, Lani. Watched 2 episodes of Imposter on Netflix - enjoyed it especially the lack of an expletive every other word 😏

Put it this way, I enjoyed The Gilded Age much more than Good Sam. I will continue to watch Gilded while Sam is off my list. I enjoyed seeing the shots of NYC in that time period. I wonder where they filmed it.

I finally watched The Gilded Age and had a similar response to Lani's. Maybe Downton Abby spoiled me too. I really wanted to like it and I'm not at all convinced a second episode would change my mind. I recently finished a limited series (British) on Netflix called Stay Close. I never saw that ending coming. I love a good limited series of about 8-9 episodes. Every episode seems jammed packed and ends with a cliffhanger. They make for great binge watching too. Anyway, we started another British mystery yesterday called The Stranger and we're hooked.

NYC in that time period. I wonder where they filmed it. I've read that it's all sets and CGI.

I'm watching tonight's episode right now. There was just a scene at Bethesda Terrace in Central Park. I think that was filmed in the park. We were there in October and that is exactly what it looks like.

Is any one watching "The Cleaning Lady" on Fox? We stumbled across the first episode over the weekend and thought it was pretty good. Last night was episode 4, and I was a little lost so I may go back and watch the missed episodes.

we started another British mystery yesterday called The Stranger and we're hooked. We watched episode 1 last night and then I remembered we watched it last year! LOL! It took me awhile although parts seemed vaguely familiar. My brain is a sieve!

The Resident was back from break last night. Really touching episode for many of the characters.

Oh! I watched the first episode of The Night Manager on amazon prime (Tom Hiddleston, Olivia Colman and Hugh Laurie), it was really good.

We really enjoyed this show. Of course, with my brain, I could probably watch it again and not remember it. Just like I did with The Stranger (LOL! doordie50,)
