Well Meg, we all knew you were an angel and your mature reaction to Devins party is proof. Many would have reacted in anger and you saw through to doing what is best for Devin. Said it before and will say it again, your family is blessed to have you.
CJ, once again I am posting on the phone so I cannot see the previous posts. Sure wish we could see a picture of the falling charms quilt! Do you have plans for it? Think you made a all hanging size.....now with a border on it it's ready for the batting and back. Do you know what fabric you will back it with?
Yes tomorrow is busy, this whole week is. My goal is to be pretty much done with what I am willing to do to assist settling MIL's estate. Think I have done more than I have to but am trying to help out Dh. Ok time for me to embroider! Hi to Ruth and Phyl. Ginny

Hello everyone. I'm very late getting here as I was sitting with dh is the dining room looking out at the scenery and visiting then called my tv service and chatted with them about the price they're trying to charge me now. After speaking to 4 different people and playing the game I ended up getting what I have now for less than what I paid before the two increases. I don't watch much but dh does and I was wondering what he would do to keep himself occupied without tv so now he's set for another year. That took a bit of t ime
Then tried to connect to the internet and it wouldn't work. Did everything you're supposed to do as far as resetting it..still no luck so I was going to call on my cell phone because home phone is with internet company..cell phone was dead. When battery finally charged I tried calling and kept getting cut off. Finally they had a message on there saying a fiberoptic cable was cut. It's finally fixed.
I couldn't even work on the shawl because the pattern is online. I should have written it down...the four repeating rows but didn't. I don't have a printer that works. I couldn't even read my book because it's online too so sat watching Law and Order reruns.
Meg, I agree with what Ginny said. You took the high road and did what's best for Devin. You are a very good woman. And Ginny, you are also.Helping with settling mil's affairs when you really don't want to but doing it for your dh is something to be admired.
CJ, as usual the fabric is beautiful. I'd love to see a picture of your work too but if you're like me you're reluctant to post pictures.
Phyl, my new sewing machine...well it's 3 years old now I think...also has a threader but I don't use it.I did follow the directions to learn how but it just seems so much easier to use the little hand gadget thingy that our grandma's all probably used for threading their needles.
I'll probably see you all in the morning. Or since I seem to live on my computer I'll probably stop in later but you're probably all ready to do other things for the rest of the evening.

In case anyone wants or needs yarn from Lion Brand, this week they're giving free shipping on everything on the site if you use code LoveMom2017. It'll be good till Friday the 5th at mn. Ginny, that is sure weird about your keyboard making all those 7's. It's a great number though

It was 89 here today and I am not ready for the heat just yet and I hate to start using the A/C this early in the season. Tonight I have all the doors and windows open and the whole house fan is on to cool the house down.
I have been sleep all day and have not accomplished much. I did one row of crocheting this afternoon. Now I am ready to work on the border.. I will work on that for a little while this evening and listen to an audio book.
Ginny, you may have sticky keys on your key board. We had that problem and had to get a new key board. I hope that you get finished helping with your MILs affairs so that you can forget about her. I am sure your DH appreciates your help. It doesn't seem very long since you were doing this for your own Mother.
Phyl, I hope you get your machine back soon. I have never heard of a Jesus hook.
Ruth. I am glad you were able to make a good deal and get the TV you wanted. My DS son does that sort of thing around here. You really in a bad way when the fiber optic cable was cut. I hope everything is up and running again.
cj, hope everything is going well for you.
I wish you all a good night.

I just had a whole post that I lost, I don't know if I can repost everything again!!! I'm so irritated Phyl - I hope you get your sewing machine fixed. I always worry about losing a piece when I change my needle or foot, or clean it. Meg - Hope your weather is cooler today and that you can enjoyed your crocheting and book yesterday. Ruth - I'm glad you were able to work out a good price to keep your cable. It's ridiculous how much it costs when most of us only watch the same few channels. Did you buy any Lion Branch yarn while it was on sale? Ginny - I hope you can get your keyboard working. Also hope all goes well with your MIL's estate. I'm not sure what backing I'll put on the Falling Charms quilt, probaby just some wide backing in a matching color. I finished putting together the Snowy Day quilt top today. I added sashing in white (2 1/2 inches wide) and also an inner border of white in the same size. Then I put a 4 inch outer border in this fabric, that I used in the quilt (the other colors in the quilt are white, soft pink and a bright fushia pink): www.joann.com/two-daughters-cotton-fabric-tiny-floral-yellow/15212673.htmlI also finished stitching the binding on the project I started a few days ago, and then I started stitching the binding for the one I sewed on yesterday. And I basted a small mini wholecloth that I bought at a quilt show. I'm going to hand quilt this and I thought this would be a good to practice on since it's already pre-printed. Here's a link to what is looks like (it's on blue fabric): quiltingstencils.com/amish-medallion-blue-16-5/The reason I never post pictures of my projects is because I don't really know how to upload photos to my computer. I guess I could take a picture with my digital camera and then load them to my PC, but it kind of wears me out to think about it. I need to get a smart phone someday and then I know it will be easy. Take care everyone

Gonna be fast as the sevens are taking over if I leave the keyboard for a second
Phyl, sorry that you did not sleep well at all- without a full moon!!!
RUth - can I hire you to take on my cable company to get a cheaper rate? It's sick what they charge.
Meg7-77 hope you are listening to a good audio book and that the Heat calms down.
CJ what you accomplish in one day is amazing- I really do wish you could post pics of your work, It was a big help to me when I got a smart phone- I am not very good with all this technology sometimes.
Please, no accolades for me in assigning DH with his mother's estate. He worked like a dog ( as did I) getting my mother's house ready for market. A whole month of demolition, discarding and cleaning. We painted EVERYTHING, restrained the deck and he totally upgraded the laundry room and powder room so that it would look presentable. Much credit goes to my Dh- for all his hard work. The least I can do is stand by him now.
GOt to the local quilt shop- but the timing was such that I could not stay long. Bought nothing.... But took pics of fabric I like and will go back when there is more time. For now, the sevens are behaving- so I will go and check my email. Frost warning tonight for us, s7o I 7covered my outside plants.
See ya tomorrow! Ginny

Hello evceryone, I just picked Devin up at school. It is very hot this afternoon the high today will be 90. When I got home with Devin I turned the A/C on. Before the summer is over the temp. will get up over 100.
cj, I think we all have trouble on this web site losing posts. I try to remember to copy just in case I lose mu post then I don't have rewrite it all. I am not good at posting pictures so I may ask my DGD to help me as she is doing that all the time.
I only did one row of crocheting yesterday and I did do a little reading. I was tired all day yesterday. My V stitch is big and heavy now so it is not the best thing to work on when it is hot. But I do want to finish it soon and I just have to do the border.
Now I am off to read for awhile. The house is cooling down which is very nice.

CJ, my dh does all the putting of pics onto the computers but I think that if you have a laptop or tablet you can take a picture with that and it will already be online but on this site I think think the pictures have to be in some programs like shutterfly or picasa or seomething. I think that's what Deb said. I can make my pictures my avatar but haven't tried to actually put on in the message block. And I agree with Ginny, you do get a while lot done in a day.
Meg, I'm ready for warmer weather but not that hot. It does sometimes get to over 100 here but we have very little humidity so it doesn't feel horrible. Yes, it's not easy to knit and crochet esp on large things when the weather is hot.My hands end up sweating then the yarn sticks.
Ginny, I do give both you and your dh kudos for helping one another so much. It's great when we have a spouse that works with us on anything that's needed.
After the internet came back it went out again for a short time but it's been fine all day but the cable company phone still doesn't work.
Ginny, for most cable and tv sattelite providers all you have to do is call and tell them you need a lower rate and they already have it set up of what "discounts" to give you each year so don't hesitate to call. Just ask for the loyalty department or customer care. Since I have my internet and phone with the cable company and tv with someone else I have to call both but luckily for the internet and phone I had a very low rate for 3 years straight and didn't even have to call them. This time the TV provider gave me $66/month in discount for this coming year.Last year it was $55..They have a while computer program their customer service people look at the tell them what to give to whom. It's based on how long you've been with them and what programming you have. First they'll ask you all kinds of dumb questions about what programs you like to watch but if you interrupt and just say bottom line I don't want to pay over..... and I want exactly what I have now. I really didn't think they would do what I asked but they did even better than what I asked for. As CJ said, you have to have the plan with way more channels because there are so many useless channels and just a few in each package. I guess Dish network has a thing where you can pick your own channels but, of course it costs more.
DH and I did go out today. We hadn't planned it but it was a good day to go. In the construction area there was no one working so that was good. The stores weren't too crowded either.
So we're home and dh has had his dinner and I'm ready to sit and crochet.
Have a great evening everyone.

hi, the jesus hook or wire is just a term they use for something tiny that gets lost when someone is working on something small. like we we have something tiny and it slips out of our hands. then we wonder jesus where'd it go because we can't find it.
Today I got my labwork done. then met delona at mcd's then the y and then we bumed some stores. I bought two belts at kohl's. we went to hobby lobby. we both walked out of there keeping our money. that's our usual bumin day. today we did a little different. we went to culver's and got a turtle sundae. we don't usually do that. we usually just go for a cone once-in-awhile. phyl

The sev7ens 7ar7e back. Let's see how I fare before I get too frustrated
Now a posting using the keypad on the iPad , which is cumbersome for me. My kids manage to do so with ease , guess I am just old and lame! Ha ha ha Phyl, you got out for a nice outing, hope that turtle sundae was wonderful. Gotta splurge once in a while!
Ruth, how nice that you got out, I can see you now settling in to crochet! Sounds so peaceful.thanks for the advice on negotiating a lower cable rate. Our oldest DD is good at stuff like that.
Meg, I hope it's just the sudden heat that is tiring you out. Take good care of yourself.
Hi to CJ who is hopefully happily crafting away.
I took the afternoon off, cause my driving leg hurts. Gonna go put my feet up and rest it.
Have a great day, Ginny

Hello Crafters - Hope you are all doing well today. Phyl - Sounds like you had a good time shopping and enjoying that sundae - we do need to treat ourselves sometimes. Meg - I hope the AC made it feel better. I've found it's difficult crocheting heavy projects in the warm weather too. Ruth - Glad you and your husband got all your errands done without any problems. Ginny - I think I can take pictures on my Kindle Fire, but I haven't tried. Maybe I will soon. I know how frustrating it is when you can't post or have technology problems, hope you get yours fixed soon. I didn't do any crafting today. Thanks to all for saying I get a lot done, the problem is there are many other things I SHOULD be doing instead Here's a link to Block 19 of the Solstice quilt - I don't think I'd posted it yet for you all to see pictures at the bottom: www.ilovetomakequilts.com/2017/04/free-block-19-solstice-sew-along-with-pat-bonus-coloring-design-page.html - my block looks like #29 or #22, since I'm only doing the 12 inch blocks. Here's a link to the Block 20 of the Solstice quilt: www.ilovetomakequilts.com/2017/05/free-block-20-solstice-sew-along-with-pat-more.html - pictures at the bottom of page I didn't mention it yesterday (lost it in my first post), but the quilt top I finished yesterday was 64x64 inches, one of the bigger ones I've made. I like the quilt well enough, but it's not my favorite one ever made. The yellows and pinks and white don't blend as well as I'd like. But this one will be a good one to practice with when I start to use the Longarm machine after my class in a few weeks. My crown fell out again today, this is the third time since February, so I guess the dentist is going to have to figure something out. Take care everyone!

Hello to all on this nice warm sunny day. It's to get up to 72 today and higher tomorrow. I wouldn't want that heat that Meg is having. We don't even have a/c.
Ginny, I'm sorry to hear you're still having keyboard problems. No it's hard for me to type on the tablet too and a smartphone...no way.I know I'm old...you are no where near that. And I'm sorry to hear about your leg hurting like that. Did you injure it or did it just suddenly start to hurt? Is it swollen?
Phyl, I was only ever at a Culver's one time. The menu us so huge I didn't even know where to start but what I had was delicious and I wouldn't mind going back sometime. We don't have one here so it was while visiting ds and his family that I got to go to one.
I need to do some kitchen cleaning but dh just went down for his nap so that will wait till later. I'd work on the living room then maybe on my craft room. My laptop isn't typing 7's but it often just goes out of where I'm typing very suddenly but I'm usually able to get back here.I don't know if I lean my wrist on something or what the problem is....anyway. I was going to order some things on Amazon but they are for Prime members only so I'll just order from WAlmart. They have them for the same price and also have free shipping so Amazon lost out.
Meg and CJ, I hope you both have wonderful days

Hello everyone,
I have been very lazy all morning. I was up early and took Devin to school and then came back and went to bed. Then I got busy and did some laundry and chores in the kitchen. I worked on my V stitch afghan last night. I am attempting to do a border. The only thing I don't like about changing colors every row is all the yarn ends. So I will just keep working at the border and see how it turns out. The temp. today will be 88 a little cooler than yesterday and by the weekend it will be back to the mid 60s.
Ginny, sorry your leg is bothering you. I hope you feel better soon.
Ruth. Though we get high temps. we have low humidity. The dry heat is more comfortable than dealing with the heat and humidity. I am glad that you and your DH were able to get out and do some errands.
Phyl, I am glad you got out and that you enjoyed your turtle sundae. sounds good to me.
cj, hope all is well with you.

CJ, I didn't see you there before I typed mine. I'm sorry to hear about the crown. I hope the dentist can figure out what to do so that it will stay in place. And I know what you mean about other things that should be done. I have this whole house that could use a lot of things being done but I'd rather be crafting.I do think I need to donate some more of ;my fabric stash. I have way too much and most wouldn't be good for quilts. Guess I could use some just to make other items like those baskets or something or tote bags. Pillow cases maybe although I don't really need any more of those.I've used some to make rice bags but you can only use or give away so many rice bags.
Meg, I see you stopped in also. Yes that's what we have too is very low humidity and it IS more comfortable than having hear and humidity both but can still be very draining to a person. Yes I hate doing edgings and borders too and, as I mentioned, those pesky ends that need woven in. Sometimes you can crochet over ends and sometimes they show too much that way.
I love turtle sundaes.
