We are a group of like-minded people that gather to discuss a host of topics from weight loss, to current events. Our thread celebrates liberal diversity, welcomes new friends, and respects all opinions. We count everything from calories to points but, we never count our chickens before they've hatched!
Never mind that Jackson died 16 years before the Civil War, when you see the actual transcripts of the interviews he's given in just the last week, its clear the cheese is slipping off the cracker.

doordie50, . . ."its clear the cheese is slipping off the cracker" LOL! Love that expression, Pam, and it especially works well with his idiotic comments about Jackson. So what do you think? Will Ryan be able to pull a rabbit out of his hat and push Obamacare change off onto the Senate? Just saw the headline, "Trump: US Needs A Good Shutdown." Haven't read the article yet, but if he thinks shutting down the government is a good idea the cheese may have already fallen onto the floor. Off to read the article . . .

@lka5 , love that clip, Linda! Tell it like it is Stephen!
While I disagreed strongly with President Bush on policy, and I thought he was a terrible president, I nevertheless never spoke of him other than with respect even when saying I thought he was completely wrong about something. He was the President and as such I felt deserved to be treated with respect even though I disagreed with him. But this oaf in the White House now, there is absolutely NOTHING I can respect about him. Not one single thing. He is a fake president, because he behaves as a fake president. Not once have I seen him put the American people ahead of himself and his own ego. It's not that he has different ideas of what is best than I have. He has NO ideas other than to promote himself. I truly believe he doesn't give a flip about what happens to anyone else or to the country as a whole other than as to how he reflects on his own self-image and enriches his pockets. In case anyone reading this didn't quite understand my feelings about this AH, I despise him with every fiber of my being.
All I can do is hope that he will come under impeachment, because if and when he does I have no doubt that he will be convicted; and, possibly even convicted of treason, but definitely convicted and removed from office. Ordinarily one would think that day would be a sad one for our country, but instead it will be a day for celebration. The sad day for our country was when he was inaugurated.

So the truth about how Republicans really feel about healthcare comes out . . .
"Republicans usually defend their health-care position with an array of buzzwords like choice, patient-centric, or competition. In a CNN interview, Representative Mo Brooks, an Alabama Republican, makes the case for Trumpcare in much starker terms: It will free healthy people from having to pay the cost of the sick. âIt will allow insurance companies to require people who have higher health care costs to contribute more to the insurance pool that helps offset all these costs, thereby reducing the cost to those people who lead good lives, theyâre healthy, theyâve done the things to keep their bodies healthy,â explained Brooks. âAnd right now, those are the people who have done things the right way that are seeing their costs skyrocketing.â
That's right if you get cancer, diabetes, have a stroke, or are even in a car accident it's because you are not leading a good life, and therefore, you don't deserve healthcare.
Give me a break from idiots, please!

I know when I heard that from Rep Brooks earlier, I thought same thing! IDIOT! He definitely has his own deplorable basket! Who elects these idiots to Congress anyway! Just shameful!
I spent afternoon at outdoor Track Meet...it was a crispy 48 degrees with alittle wind & intermitent rain..DH & I both came home frozen to the bone ...but Granddaughter was competing, so Grandparents do what they have to do LOL... She qualified for State in Pole Vault at 9' so, happy we endured the weather to see her qualify ...but, I'm stlll shivering...
Anyone see Hilery's interview with Christine Amapore (sp?) ...I only saw part, but WOW what a difference comparing her to the idiot in the office & just wondered how anyone could put Tweety in office even if you did not like Hillary. The difference in class & intellence is so obvious! I know we all saw that, & still believe that, but to be reminded again today was an eye opener again as to how AWFUL Tweety really is.

Oh, for cryin' out loud could these people please shut the hell up, or just go away?
I recently lost a family member to cancer and she did everything right! She's the most recent. I've had many friends and family members die of horrible diseases. One of my friends died of cancer because she happened to be at work in Manhattan on 9/11. I had a 9 year old family member die. He never even had the chance to do anything wrong. We had an infant born with a defective heart only live a few months. And no, his mother didn't drink or smoke. There's more, but I'll bet each one of you have your own stories.
Any person that sincerely believes the people making these absurd statements really care about "those that have done everything right" need either a good shrink or a good laxative. Because both their body and mind need to have the garbage removed.
It's all stupid all the time now.
PS... I love Stephen Colbert. OMG! He needed someone to put some butter on his behind last night because he was on a roll! He's like that every night but last night we were actually standing up and clapping our fool heads off! Now there's a man that really does tell it like it is!

Yay for Linda's granddaughter!! So glad you were there to see her qualify for state. That was definitely worth the cold in order to be there. You must be very proud of her, as well you should be.

As for Hillary, I've only heard snippets on the radio while driving this afternoon; but, she always makes me proud. There is no comparison between her and the (can't even think of an appropriate word for him) that we have in the White House now. She's right. She would have been President, if only . . . That's water under the bridge now, but I want those reporters to keep digging. I don't trust the FBI to do it, because Comey deliberately threw the election to the weasel. I don't know why, but certainly he did. So his office can't be trusted to ferret out the truth anymore than a Republican Congress can be trusted to do so. So that means the only hope of the truth ever coming to light is with reporters. I hope they have a lot of shovels and are digging deep.
