Oh, I'm sure ND will be one of the first to ask for a waiver. They are trying to get rid of Medicaid now & have really cut bennies for that. UGH!
So Rep. Chris Collins from NY didn't even read the bill & admits he didn't ...good gosh, how many more didn't even take time to read it....jeez!!!!!! So, they are arguing facts they really can't be sure about. Lordy Lordy!
I worked in in yard most of day & I'm feeling every aching bone in my body. My mind thinks I can work like I was younger but my body is screaming " Foolish old lady" LOL

Linda, TN very likely will be as well.
My friend the doctor I mentioned in my last post also just posted this on FB. So if you are reading this thread and are in favor of the bill just passed in the House, you might want to think very carefully about that before celebrating too heartily.
"AIDS/HIV, acid reflux, acne, ADD, addiction, Alzheimer's/dementia, anemia, aneurysm, angioplasty, anorexia, anxiety, arrhythmia, arthritis, asthma, atrial fibrillation, autism, bariatric surgery, basal cell carcinoma, bipolar disorder, blood clot, breast cancer, bulimia, bypass surgery, celiac disease, cerebral aneurysm, cerebral embolism, cystic fibrosis, DMD, depression, diabetes, disabilities, Down syndrome, eating disorder, enlarged prostate, epilepsy, glaucoma, gout, heart disease, heart murmur, heartburn, hemophilia, hepatitis C, herpes, high cholesterol, hypertension, hysterectomy, muscular dystrophy, narcolepsy, nasal polyps, obesity, OCD, organ transplant, osteoporosis, pacemaker, panic disorder, paralysis, paraplegia, Parkinson's disease, pregnancy, restless leg syndrome, schizophrenia, seasonal affective disorder, seizures, sickle cell disease, skin cancer, sleep apnea, sleep disorders, stent, stroke, thyroid issues, tooth disease, tuberculosis, and ulcers. If you have any of these, the GOP just sent a bill to the Senate that said insurers can charge you more if you have them."

Robert Reich 1 hr · To become law, Trumpcare has to go through 4 additional steps: 1. Pass an amended version in the Senate 2. Go to “conference“ to hammer out differences between the House and Senate 3. Pass in the House again 4. Pass in the Senate again I hope you’ll be there every step of the way, until Trumpcare collapses under the weight of its own cruelty. Here’s what you can do: 11 days of congressional recess starts today. At this very moment, your Representatives are on flights back home to your district. Over the next week they’ll be holding fundraisers and working out of their district offices. As of today, only 5 members of Congress have scheduled town halls. First, call on them publicly to have a town hall to explain their vote on Trumpcare. If they won’t, show up at their district office and give clear feedback. When these members are forced to vote again on Trumpcare, they will look back to the responses of their constituents this week. To help you make your voice heard loud and clear over the next 11 days, Indivisibleguide.com has put together an updated Trumpcare resources webpage (below). Please make use of it. You’re needed. Now.

Robert Reich 56 mins · If patriotism means anything, it means sacrificing for the common good. Childless Americans pay taxes for schools so children are educated. Americans who live close to their work pay taxes for roads and bridges so those who live farther away can get to work. Americans with secure jobs pay into unemployment insurance so those who lose their jobs have some income until they find another. And under the Affordable Care Act, healthier and wealthier Americans pay a bit more so sicker and poorer Americans don’t die. Trump and House Republicans aren’t patriots. They don’t believe in sacrificing for the common good. They don’t think we’re citizens with obligations to one another. To them, we’re just individual consumers who deserve the best deal we can get for ourselves. It’s all about the art of the deal. What do you think?

" but I bet once they get home & face their constituents, well, good luck with that! " IMHO, their constituents will scream and yell and rant and rave until they turn blue in the face. However, they will STILL vote Republican! Without meaningful action their words are nothing more than meaningless utterances. I hope I'm wrong but I don't think so. Sorry. That's how I feel.

I have a feeling the Senate will change the rules to the majority instead of 60 votes to get this disaster through. McConnell is the most vile member of the Senate and is so far up Trump's ass that he will do it in a heartbeat. I just don't see how taking the country backwards is good for America. Oh, I know, sick people will die sooner so they will vote for shorter periods of time than the healthy ones they just helped.

WASHINGTON (The Borowitz Report)—Moments after House Republicans voted to repeal the Affordable Care Act on Thursday, millions of Trump supporters celebrated the imminent loss of their health insurance.
From coast to coast, Americans who cast their votes for Donald J. Trump expressed jubilation at finally being relieved of the burden of being insured in the event of catastrophic illness.
“Ever since President Trump was inaugurated, I’ve been counting the days for him to take away my health insurance,” Carol Foyler, a Trump supporter in Houston, said. “Today I just want to say thank you, Mr. President, for keeping your promise.”
Harland Dorrinson, a Trump voter from Tallahassee, Florida, said that he was “excited as hell about losing my health insurance” but sounded a more cautious note.
“I just hope the Senate doesn’t come in and give me back my health coverage,” he said. “Right now this all feels too good to be true.”
Most Trump supporters, however, would not let such gloomy predictions about the future ruin what for them was a day of unbridled celebration.
“Knowing that Trump could take away my Obamacare makes me feel super optimistic about what he’s capable of,” Tracy Klugian, of Columbus, Ohio, said. “I can’t wait until he gets rid of my Medicare.”

The only good news I've received today is that 2 NJ Republican congressmen and 3 Pennsylvanians voted AGAINST this anti-healthcare bill. At least those in my neighbor are not drinking the kool-aid. As for the rest---may they burn in hell.
