This thread was started before the dawn of time by Amazons who needed to compare their stats with other Amazons. Over time it grew into a community of incredible women who try to keep their spirits in the clouds and their feet on the ground, moving toward health. Most of us start at 5'7 and go up from there, from young singles to wise and lively elders of the tribe. We welcome newcomers who are willing to be kind and share a bit of their lives.

This has been one of those weeks. Book club Wed night, something at school last night, my days have been full of appointments etc, with not enough time between to get a work out in. It's just been a hard week for me. However I will have much time to devote to eating light today, tomorrow and Sunday. I'll get TM time in FOR SURE Sat and Sunday. Tonight is yoga. Which isn't cardio, but you can only do what you can. MAYBE I'll do a power walk after yoga, but I doubt it--puts me at late at night, and I want to have some time for me.
Wow! I'm not really so self centered!
Mcat: what beach do you go to?
Colleen: I really hope you find time to relax and enjoy. There are so many changes with the job and move on top of wedding. That is a lot of stress. Good stress, but still it's stress. Perhaps on the guest list, revisit it in a couple of days. Do they have a formula on over inviting? I don't remember. Don't forget the people you will invite and you know who won't come. I loved choosing the invitations. There are so many options out there now.
Susan: I love to hear the lightness in your voice! You too, have so many wonderful things happening. Please keep us in the know. I like the details.
I have to run one of the DD's for her yearly check up. I'll stop by later.

Good morning CATs, Frieda, I take it JA has the girls this weekend? Do find some time to do something purely selfish and enjoyable. Am I correct in reading between the lines that the end might finally be in sight? Inking the agreement and sending it off with hopes of that end can only bring you peace, it seems. MCat, I hope your current battle with EH is also about to come to an end. Enough with those crazy shenanigans! Colleen, I'm so sorry you are having apartment wars. I don't miss those days at all! Hoping a solution comes soon. It's also great to hear the enthusiasm in your posts when you mention the new job. So many good things going on for you. Fingers crossed for BBQB's finals. Susan, head in the clouds is right. I'm reminded of how reluctant you were to venture out into the dating world. So glad it has led you to this new happiness. Shari, wow, so much going on in your world! I don't envy you the packing but two boxes per day is a great goal. Just keep working toward that finish line. pKate, I love that you have started the new org. I hope it opens exciting new opportunities for you. I'm psychically giving Humphrey a big shove. T, it's just not the same without you here! I know that you are heading full tilt to the finish line for this year. I hope the new gig has brought more happiness than craziness when all is said and done. Martha, I'm so excited about your new venture. When you get caught up on rest maybe you can fill us in on clinicals. Andrea, can you see bare ground yet? I can't even wrap my head around snow in May. Want to visit Texas?
I'm happy to report that after numerous medical tests--all without significant findings--that I have officially been released from my medical nightmare that began back in Oct/Nov. I may have had a pre-condition but my dietary changes seem to have eradicated all signs of it. Now I just need to remain vigilant so it doesn't return. I am a firm believer in being one's own advocate in medical matters. Had I not done the research and made the changes as soon as I had warning I don't know what might have developed during these months of testing.
Hoping this Friday is the prelude to a great weekend for all.

Good morning! So good to hear from you Anne and that the medical issues have been put to rest! And definitely yes on being your own advocate and learning as much as you can. I agree that it's crucial.
Frieda, I know you will get those TM sessions in over the weekend. I have fallen down so hard on that one after nearly two years of such consistency. And, I know it's the only thing that allows me to maintain. I'm simply going to have to make some sacrifices/schedule adjustments to fit it back in most every day.
The business venture I mentioned yesterday for DF materialized late in the day with a big WOW! He will soon own the educational coaching consulting group he has worked with for the last several years with practically no upfront $$ or risk. It's a fabulous opportunity and we are both really excited about it. What a week!! He is already at the beach for the weekend and I'm heading down later this afternoon - hoping to celebrate with both daughters and GKDS.
On that note - I have a number of things I have to do before I can get out of the office so time to get my head down. Have a great day everyone.

Morning, ladies,
I am off to a slower start today; I volunteered at a gala for a theatre here last night. They auctioned off three plays before dinner; the playwrights had 30 minutes to write them; we had 25 minutes to rehearse; then we presented them to the attendees. It was ridiculous, stressful fun. The man who commissioned our team is the chairman of the board of another theatre company in town, and I actually sat next to him at a play the first weekend I came here to check the Cities out. And he remembered our conversation. Anyway, it was a late night, and Humphrey is reminding me that he is like an old fish, hanging around past his welcome. Also heard from a facility here about scheduling a meeting with a warden. Baby steps.
Susan, so much exciting news at your end of the world. It's tremendous. Have you and DF decided whether he will move in with you or vice versa? Or will you find a new habitat together? Great news about his ownership of the consulting group, too. Get back on the TM when you can, but be kind to yourself, too; you have so much going on right now.
Frieda, hoping, along with Anne, that the end is nigh on the negotiations. And you NEED some time to yourself right now. Have you found a new house for you and the girls, btw?
Anne, your medical news sounds very good. Good for you for your discipline in making the good changes.
Colleen, so sorry about the rental neighbors. O, I remember that so very well, and DH & I are still savoring its absence here in homeownership land. Holding good thoughts for BBQB as he wraps up school!
Okay, better go do some work. Much love to all the kittens.

Hola friends. I need a margarita! A skinny one. Day 5 of BD here. And I saw a 0.6 from one-derland today. WHAT??? the scale is moving! PK - the gala and play-auctioning/writing sounds like fun! I hear ya old fish I'm so glad you are making connections and reconnecting up there in the mini. Yes, homeownership. I miss the perks, just not the work. Anne - cheers to negative testing! I echo to being your own advocate. I feel that I am constantly trying to get my mom and dad to do the same. Susan - congrats to DF! What a week! Have a blast at the beach. so jealous. Martha - sounds like things are going well, even with late hours! This is so exciting for you! Frieda -ditto to Anne - selfish! enjoy your time alone. BBQB received his first "A" of the semester, two more to go! He has worked so hard. I'm so proud of him. Leaving at 3:30 today for KC and Garth in concert. Long weekend ahead. This week has been brutal! waves to all. I need a taco, too!

Happy Cinco de Mayo!
Glad it is Fried-day! Still getting used to the early hours and they will only be that until May 15th. Clinicals are going good. Clinicals entail shadowing a CNA during their shift. We get resident up for the day, change linens, give showers, take vitals, deliver trays to those that stay in their rooms, assist some patients with feeding and other assigned jobs. At the end of my class/clinicals, I will get a certificate stating that I have completed the coursework for being a NA. I have to take/pass the state exam before I can be considered a CNA.
Our class met with the CNA recruiter today. Day shifts are rare. Internal applicants get first dibs. DH and I will be doing serious talking. One car has its drawbacks.
Today, I wore my pedometer. From the time I got dressed until right now, 15072 steps. That includes my walk home from the bus. Hmm, wonder if it will help me at the scale in the morning? Hoping.
Frieda - I'll do my elliptical while you do the treadmill or run this weekend. Weekends are usually sloth type days. Hope you can get in some self care too! Anne - glad your diet changes have kept medical issues from fully forming. PKate - Great to have Chairman remember the conversation with you. Keeping fingers crossed that meeting with warden goes well and that he has an open mind. Colleen - Enjoy Garth!
I'll be kicking DH off computer sometime this weekend. Thinking of all and sending HUGS~
