This thread was started before the dawn of time by Amazons who needed to compare their stats with other Amazons. Over time it grew into a community of incredible women who try to keep their spirits in the clouds and their feet on the ground, moving toward health. Most of us start at 5'7 and go up from there, from young singles to wise and lively elders of the tribe. We welcome newcomers who are willing to be kind and share a bit of their lives.

Flying through here, taking a slow path to work this morning (no class until 10:15), but my email box is already screaming, so I can't dawdle.
Gosh, Shari, it's almost here! I am glad for your sake that you do not have to contend with selling the house simultaneously. I'm glad DD is settling into an internship solution -- please send prayers for DS to experience similar good fortune for his last college summer as well.
Martha, I meant to applaud your 15+K step day. I hope your week is off to a moving start.
I'd better get to those emails.

Aloha, Long and Lovelies!!
I thought I had posted on Friday, but clearly it was just good intentions!! I took Friday afternoon off to help out with Super Kid's Day (also known as Field Day, for those of you that are my age) at school. It was a hoot. Apparently DS's friends asked if I was always that loud and energetic. He said yes, mom is a ball of energy. Funny, sometimes I feel like a ball of mush!!! LOL! I'll take it, though. DH and I were alone this weekend, and it was quite nice. The neighborhood pool opened and we went a took a dip on Sunday, after doing some yard work. Still relatively cool in the evenings here, which is a super treat, but the heat is coming..... It was lovely to hear DS say that he was happy to be home last night after we picked him up. Man, I love that kid!!!
Frieda, the beach we are going to is Holden Beach. I'm not sure exactly where it is, but I'm really looking forward to it! Any more movement from your advisor? I'm hoping to hear from mine this week, since she doesn't have any court appearances. It would be nice to be done with that stupid piece.
T, I think all of the teachers are in that final push stage. Do you and DH anticipate staying where you are, or moving to a different state once you retire? Any news on how DD's trip to Seattle went?
Shari, good luck on the colonoscopy.
Anne, glad all of the testing came out okay. Sorry you had a scare earlier. I know that's not easy.
Colleen! Your hard work is starting to show! That's awesome!!
Martha, sounds like the new gig is going well. Good for you!!
Alrighty, have a 9AM meeting - must go. Hugs to all!!!

Where DID the weekend go?!?!? I must have missed a timeline in Shari's post last week. Someone, help! Recap!? Martha - 15K! That's a good day! I understand the coveted shifts, but surely easier to move once one foot in the door? Good luck. I'm sure with bus and carpool you and DH will be able to figure out transport? T - how many more days!! I can't believe it's already so hot in TX. I'll take my lovely summer in IA. Busy weekend, followed by a busy week and another busy weekend. BBQB and I are also not wanting to spend our salaries on a loft, but we have our eye on two buildings that are actually affordable compared to similar housing pricepoints and professional owners. Lots to consider as we merge households and pay for a wedding - I'm thinking ahead to TAXES without the extra kickback and the amount we are throwing away to the rental company. augh. 4 BD for me last week. I was good until I started traveling and got back to KC. The scale is showing the same number as last Monday so I call that good after a food centric and boozey weekend. I'm exhausted with wedding wakes at night. Have I mentioned I refused to unpack? Apt life is not for me! Ok, must run - waves to all.

Good afternoon all. I can't believe I just ate a 21 point lunch at a Mexican restaurant! Oh boy, and on the day I'm determined to start tracking for real again. I have tracked it and can salvage a BD if I stick to grilled chicken and veggies tonight. That's the plan. A looming wedding is quite the motivator! I also put my Fitbit back on to charge this morning and will hit the TM when I get home this afternoon.
We had a nice beach weekend even though it was really chilly for May, and windy enough to make the boat ride on Saturday really rough. The GKDs are like little fish, and played in the water regardless of the sub 70 degree temp. Not me!!
MCat, Holden Beach is much further south in NC than I am. I've actually never been there but know many people who love that area. When is your trip?
Glad you got to take at least one extra breath this morning T! I know you will be sooo glad to see the end of the year. I'm always so envious of that chance to wind down one year, have a break then start again. I think nonprofits should try that schedule!
I thought of you this morning Andrea and that late season snow as I turned my heat back on for a few minutes last night. Its a rarity to do that here in May and I don't think I could ever live somewhere it was considered normal!
15K steps Martha, wow! I've only ever hit that a very few times.
I hear you Colleen on merging households and finances. I honestly never thought I'd be facing that. Lots to think about and do! I'm all ears for any tips you want to share!
Need to run for now. Have a great afternoon everyone!

I don't have much time right now. BUT, I finally showed a loss that counted, instead of my up/down of the scale. -2.4 this week. Down a total of 19.4!! I'm so CLOSE to 20. All things are good this week. May they continue. I'll BBL

Hi CaTs. Here I am, without a colonoscopy done today. All prepped and ready, with an extra day of liquid diet under my belt that was unnecessary (my mistake), and they couldn't do it. I didn't stop a rx that I take until today and they need it stopped 4-5 days out. Nurse failed to stop me, sheet of instructions failed to list it. I think of it as vaso-dilator, they consider it a blood thinner. No go on the scope. Aye. Yi. Yi. So kindly and considerately (because of upcoming move) rescheduled to Friday. Back at prep again.
Meanwhile I had cancelled piano for today, of course, and planned/scheduled for Thurs/Fri. Ha! to that. Have texted and called and emailed and communicated with almost all - rescheduled a few for tonight, later. Bunches on Tues and Wed.
Colleen, I hear all of your comments on apt living and just hope we get lucky. I am so looking forward to it; I hope we don't hate the living situation, or luck out with those in close proximity. It may lead us to homeownership sooner than later if it's not good.
T, yes, wishing for the smoothest of sailing for your DS and his college summer plans. Strength to you to the finish line.
Waving to everyone else. Congrats on good loss, and big total, Frieda. Susan, hooray for tracking that meal! That's what it takes to succeed!
Must go fake presentable. I am plenty washed out. DH grilling chicken - woohoo! And i can eat!
