Instead of "pro life" we need to call these people "Anti choice".

My body, my choice. Why is this so damn difficult for some people to get? Especially men?
If these people truly were pro life like they pretend to be, they'd mind their own business and have the decency to allow women to make their own choice about their own lives! This choice is difficult enough for them. Who needs obnoxious strangers in their face screaming at them? MYOB. Mind your own damn business!
How would you like having strangers screaming at you, pestering you, bothering you about a very personal decision about your own life?
Back off and shut up already! Please.
Anti choice! Well said, Luanne!

Now the praying-on-the-field coach gets the OK from SCOTUS. This continues to take a dark turn.

birdgal, I thought it was a good fit. I was listening to CBS Evening News on the radio last night on the way home from my WW meeting and by the time I got home I was feeling very down. It's a bummer, all that is going on.

Now the praying-on-the-field coach gets the OK from SCOTUS. This continues to take a dark turn. It's seriously out of control. We have rapist Kavanaugh and Handmaid's Tale calling the shots since they have the majority position. On a side note, after the death of my aunt, I have her house for the time being until I decide what to do with it and so the kids and I live there half the week so that I'm close by my office (closer than my own house is to the office). The kids and I took a walk yesterday through the neighborhood and someone had done an entire block of sidewalk chart art full of outrage at the overturning of Roe. It was really quite spectacular. Further to that, today we received an email from the President of our company saying they typically stay out of politics within the workplace but she, too, is outraged over this decision and will now pay for abortion healthcare out of state if an employee resides in a restrictive state, plus companion travel, and anonymity as needed within their restrictive state. I was very pleased and proud to see this. I have to believe that this ridiculousness will create such a backlash that all who are eligible will get out there and vote so that we can fill the senate and house with blue candidates, and further to that, never allow a Trump or Desantis or any piece of crap loser into the White House again, so that future Supreme Court appointees don't have a shot at turning our country into the exact thing Americans chide other countries' leadership for doing (such as Taliban and Sharia law). We've become uber-religious (only Christianity of course) and foolishly blending church and state despite this literally being something the founders didn't want. And I'm not even a die-hard to the letter Constitutionalist. But this is out of hand.

I'm a Christian. I know that God allows us free will. As a Christian, when the government starts imposing religious laws on everyone - even non Christians - then we become like the fanatical countries. We're not far off. Since people can now "report" others for seeking abortions, are we far off from "well they refused to pray at the game so they need to be punished"; "they were wearing the Star of David, they should be shunned" and other things that fanatical religiousized countries do?

Today's Jan. 6th hearing - yeow! Trump tweets out that he "barely knew" Hutchinson. Yeah, right. Oh, and she's "bad news" and "a leaker". Bad news for you; leaker = truth teller.
At the very least I would hope this would shut down him running again. But who knows these days. I do think DeSantis will be the nominee.

Of course Trump is say he "hardly knew her" and that she's a "leaker" He didn't need to know her well for her to know what was going on.
I'm not sure if it's better if DeSantis is the nominee.

Our governor, Michelle Lujan Grisham, signed an executive order yesterday protecting access to reproductive health care services in New Mexico, protecting medical providers from attempts at legal retribution and establishing that New Mexico will not entertain extradition attempts from other states relating to receiving or performing reproductive services.

if it's better if DeSantis is the nominee. Well, he's not insane. In a way it's worse because he's more competent and easier for the GOPers to defend. I do hope the SCOTUS rulings energize Democratic voters. I fear inflation will override everything as far as turnout. Historically the opposition party always gains seats in Congress in the midterms after the other party wins the presidency. Biden's approval rating is awful and I don't see anyone stepping up to run instead. But it's early days for sure to be thinking about the presidential election.

Many people like to say we are a Christian nation and right there that's a dangerous and terrifying place to be. Our Founders would be disgusted, angry, sad, and shocked.
We are heading down a very dark, destructive, and dangerous path. The world has been here before. We called it the Dark Ages. Has history taught us nothing?
So before we start burning people at the stake can we snap out if it, and keep our religions out of our politics? Before it's too late?
I don't think we can. What do you think?

Also, I think some of these politicians are not particularly Christian Evangelical in their beliefs. They are latching onto the talking points in order to get elected.
