There are Republicans and there are trumpets. BIG difference. Most Republicans are decent, sane, reasonable, patriotic people. The Party of Lincoln type of person.
Then there are Republicans who are trumpets. Those who cheer on a lying, cheating, talk show host who brags about how easy it is to grab a woman by her private parts. A man who says if his daughter wasn't his daughter...never mind. I can't even type that. A person who takes and shreds documents out of the White House. Our house. Our security! If that doesn't sound like a traitor I don't know what does.

Oh, one more thing. Although there are many more things. I believe Trump said he admired Hitler. Why am I not shocked about that?
He loves dictators. And yet he has the support of Evangical Christians. Hitlar claimed to be a Christian too.
Never listen to what people say. Watch what they do!

Trump said he admired Hitler. I think it was he was complaining to his generals that they should be loyal to him like Hitler's generals were to him. The generals said you do know they tried to take Hitler out three times, right? Trump goes, no, no, no, they were totally loyal. He takes delusion to new heights, or depths, I guess would be more accurate.

I can't wait for the day I never hear his lying voice or see his twisted face. It's troubling how many people adore such a thing. If this is the face of America to the rest of the world we are doomed.

birdgal, unfortunately he and his supporters are the face of America to the rest of the world. It's so embarrassing. My kids have also said that it does indeed suck that the Trumpsters have ruined the image of the American flag. If you wave the flag around, wear American flag related clothing (not that we would but still), they've spoiled the image of being a "Patriot" since they are not true Patriots, just blind followers who couldn't care less if their orange messiah shits all over democracy and the constitution.

I was watching David Brooks, Jonathan Capehart and Judy Woodruff for their Friday night analysis on PBS Nightly News. Brooks was floating a scenario where Trump could be elected and have criminal charges brought against him, or maybe even convicted, simultaneously. He is afraid it would lead to civil war. He absolutely believes Trump should be held accountable, but is fearful of the outcome. I feel like this has been in the wind ever since Trump actually won the election. I can't speculate rationally about what is going to happen next. Gives me a stomach ache.

He's not delusional. He's a liar! A deceitful liar. If his lips are moving, you know he's lying. Lying is the only language liars speak. It comes natural for them. It's their native tongue. They have been lying for so long they don't even need to take a moment to make something up. The lies just easily flow from their lying lips.
Trump is a liar. He always will be. It's who he is.
He knows his loyal followers (people of the same delusional mind set) could and would start a war over this. He is banking on it. His pathetic and weak plea to his followers was more like a call to action.
The moment I saw his sudden interest in politics I knew he'd be in the spotlight and the headlines every single day. He is a weak man who needs to be noticed. So, this is the best the Republicans have now?
The Party at one time was called the Party Of Lincoln. Now it's the party of trump? I'm not a Republican but even I had a difficult time typing those words.
Come on people. You can do better. I know you can!

retiredinaz, Thanks for posting the link. Don't know if I have the stomach to read it all. I've read some other articles about the Arizona Republicans lately and they were upsetting.

I could not read it either. They are not, imho, the true Republican Party. They are more like school yard bullies, sore losers, street thugs, immature weaklings who can not accept reality. So, they make up their own cry baby reality and find comfort in Liars and theives, and losers.
Reality hurts their eyes so they choose not to look at it. They worship a vile a talk show host and make him their king. Sad and scary.

Sorry..here is the really scary part What is different now is the use of “democracy” as a kind of shorthand and even a slur for Democrats themselves, for the left and all the positions espoused by the left, for hordes of would-be but surely unqualified or even illegal voters who are fundamentally anti-American and must be opposed and stopped at all costs. That anti-democracy and anti-“democracy” sentiment, repeatedly voiced over the course of my travels through Arizona, is distinct from anything I have encountered in over two decades of covering conservative politics.
It’s the failure to reinstall a legitimately defeated president, under the misguided belief that victory was stolen from him, that seems to have ushered in the view among Arizona Republicans — and many more across the nation — that democracy itself was at fault and had been weaponized by the political left, or the “enemies from within,” as McCarthy once put it. As it happened, Rose Sperry wasn’t the first person to invoke the Wisconsin senator at the Lions of Liberty event. “I had a weird dream last night about Joseph McCarthy,” said one of the morning’s featured speakers, Jim Arroyo, the head of Arizona’s biggest chapter of the Oath Keepers, a far-right paramilitary group made up largely of current and former members of the armed forces and law enforcement. McCarthy, he said, “was not only right — he understated the seriousness of it.”
Arroyo’s eschatological rhetoric was echoed by the down-ballot Republican candidates who spoke to the group. One of them was Selina Bliss, a precinct committeewoman and nursing teacher at Yavapai College who was running for a State House seat. (On Aug. 2, she was defeated by the G.O.P. incumbent, Quang Nguyen, who earlier this year authored legislation, later signed into law, requiring that Arizona high school students receive anti-Communist civics instruction.) Bliss reminded her friends and neighbors that they belonged to a thriving activist movement: “We Republicans, we conservatives, we’re the grass roots, we come from the bottom up.” Image Blake Masters, in white shirt, outside a campaign rally in Tucson, Ariz., in July. But after the seeming paean to political participation, she took a turn. “I want to address something that’s bugging me for a long time,” Bliss said. “And that’s the history and the sacredness of our Constitution and what our founding fathers meant.” She then said: “We are a constitutional republic. We are not a democracy. Nowhere in the Constitution does it use the word ‘democracy.’ When I hear the word ‘democracy,’ I think of the democracy of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. That’s not us.”
It once would have been jarring to hear a candidate for state legislative office ignore the usual parochial issues — property taxes, water access, state funding for universities — and instead repudiate the very idea of democracy in America. But Bliss’s view was hardly out of place here. Sperry, the activist sitting in the audience, had posted on Facebook a few months before: “Please strike the word democracy from your vocabulary! WE ARE A REPUBLIC!!!

I want to know what those Republicans are smoking. I'd be open to maybe just a little toke of what they're on, if they don't mind sharing.
A misguided belief is a very nice way to say it. I'd call it a lie and those pushing the lie know it's a lie.
