The Federal Government has cut back the water availability from the Colorado River. There won't be enough water to have a winter lettuce crop this coming year.

I feel badly for the farmers (although they are mostly corporate) and the migrants they employ.

itsrad, I wonder what will happen with other crops. I think the central valley of California and Arizona depend on the Colorado River for their water.

Artichokes and Garlic are two big crops out there. We drove through Gilroy this summer and you could smell the garlic if you rolled down the windows. the Mcdonald's has garlic fries.

itsrad , I've been to the Garlic 🧄 Festival in Gilroy. It's no longer in Gilroy due to the mass shooting there a couple of years ago, couldn't afford to put it on any more. Now there will be the Calif. Garlic Festival in Stockton this year. Sidebar: I was in Gilroy attending a wedding at a winery the day before the shooting.
