Well I do not like to go political here, but I will because this does not matter to us one bit on “this side of the pond”. I knew Charles would become King, but I kind of find him unrealistic and stuffy. Think he and Camilla have too much baggage, and I really wish that they skipped him and the crown went to Prince William.
My next fabric shipment arrived today! So I have a project to keep me out of trouble and busy this weekend.

'I had a post ready last night and forgot to send.
Ginny, I thought the queen would outlive Charles and I agree that it would have been best to go ahead and make William the king. I'm glad your fabric got there. I hope it's some that you like.
It's about 1pm here and only 45 degrees. It was in the 30's during the night. We haven't been able to see the mountain yet today to see if there's snow because of thick cloud cover. It's also been raining much of the day. We had to go out to have dh's blood drawn so went grocery shopping afterward. The store we went to is a pricier store than our Kroger store and some of the prices were shocking. We only bought things that were truly on sale like Pasta for 50 cents. Stocked up on that because dh loves his spaghetti and we both love mac and cheese.
I finished the blanket...the small fuzzy one... early yesterday then started another knot bag and will hopefully get that complet4ed today. After that only 5 more to go.I do have another that I started about a month ago and didn't finish yet.I'm going to use all different tote bag patterns and might even make some patterns for them up myself. I'll just change the handles on the ones from patterns to they are the knot bag handles.

Hello Everyone - Hope everyone is doing well The weather here has been pretty nice, some rain, but cooler temperatures. It's sunny today. I went out for some shopping/errands on Wednesday, so I was glad to get that done. I hadn't done any quilting until this morning when I made the latest Moda Blockheads block. For this one I used all 5 of my fabrics in the block. This was Block #25 and there are only 3 more blocks left for this quilt along. It's been interesting and I have learned some things. I pulled some fabrics for the Hometown Charms quilt along, but I'm just not sure if they will work and if I'll do this quilt along. I'm going to make the first block and see what I think about it and then decide from there. Hope you all have some time for some crafting this weekend. Take care!

Ruth, wow you have weather swings. And I am very sure that this is not the first time I have noted that, seems like last week you were in the 90’s. Sorry that the logical choice was to go to the pricier store, but sounds like you took advantage of that stores sales anyway and made it a productive trip. I too love Mac and cheese…but have to watch how much I eat- the cheese can mess up my sensitive gut. Glad to hear that you finished the fuzzy blanket, that went quickly. Were you able to complete the knot bag? Think its a great idea to try to design some of your own patterns for knot bags. I am sure that you will do just fine at that.
CJ- glad you got those errands done. Its always nice when you learn something when working on a quilt, and those blockhead blocks seemed to be interesting and varied. Its great that you feel you learned some new things when working on them. Hope that you are happy with your hometown charms fabrics. I agree, make a sample block and see hot you like the fabrics together.
I got some yard work done this afternoon and also cut out the fabric for the small doll i want to make. Opened my fabric shipment for this month also, its the same bunch of fabrics, just in different pieces to make probably two identical blocks

Lovely night here for sleeping- nice and cool. Thankfully, I slept well. I am not feeling 100%. I have a fair amount of yard work to do today, which I hope I can get done. I also hope to get some machine time in too, perhaps later on today.

Long day here, but a productive one. I got a fair amount of yard work done today- and planted some new daffodil bulbs (I LOVE daffodils!). And the deer do not eat them. Put my firepit back together and did a bit more straightening up out there.. Plus all my normal Saturday housework, so I guess I have had a busy day. Unfortunately, I got no crafting done, but with rain predicted for tomorrow, I hope to have some time to get to my machine.
I have spent some time watching a lot of the coverage of what is going on in Great Britain. But that was pretty much this morning when I was doing housework which was close to a television.

What a delightful day today! High temperature was 70, and the low was about 40! The air quality was much better.
I'm having trouble adjusting my sleep time, but that's really unimportant, especially if it's really going to be fall and cooler! I'm recording shows that I want to watch or have missed, so there's plenty of entertainment!
Last night I took out a few inches of the blue to aqua to green scarf. After finishing most of it, it developed a mind of its own and seemed to be shrinking. So redoing what I took out was the last think I did before going to bed. The next scarf I do will be an infinity scarf. I have some purple to rosy pink ombré yarn that I'll use.

I got a lot of work done too. I crocheted first then did a lot of cooking and a little baking and cleaned the kitchen but was too tired to do a real thorough job so will do some tomorrow.I need to catch up on the work I didn't get done when it was so hot. High here didn't get to 70 but it was nice anyway.
Sue, your scarves sound lovely and so does your weather.
Ginny, you asked the other day about the man I mentioned that did the rather incomplete video.. He had his own group but now works for Yarnspirations also. They own Bernat,Caron, andfor the last couple years,Red Heart. He uses mostly Bernat blanket yarn in his youtube videos which makes it hard to see the stitches. The one I was watching was good until he suddenly decided he was done.I'd watched some of his videos before but rarely do now. I have favorites but he's not one of them.

Hello Everyone - Hope you are all doing well today. Sounds like many of you are having nice weather It's been cooler here and we had rain overnight, today is cloudy and in the 70s. I made the first block for the Hometown Charms quilt along and I like it, but I'm just not sure how these fabrics will work together until I make a few of the blocks. I do have some more red fabrics to add in, so I guess I'll see how it goes. I also pulled a few Christmas fat quarters and some yardage (I'll be adding white too) to try out the Christmas quilt along small quilt that starts this week. And I opened the jelly roll I want to use for a quilt for Jelly Roll Day (this Saturday), it has a really nice mix of "fall-like" colors. The pattern I'm going to use is: maryquilts.com/boxed-squares/Here are some pictures of what I mentioned, along with my latest Moda Blockheads block from this past week: Take care everyone

CJ- your Christmas fabrics are lovely, and from what I can see will work out beautifully in a project. Looking forward to seeing what you do with the fabric. And I like the boxed squares quilt! So pretty and the fall fabric selection is nice. I love fall fabrics!!! I am guessing that the house quilt block is a moda blockhead? Someday a house quilt is on my list of quilts to make. Very pretty and its adorable.
Ruth, 70 degree weather is not bad at all- can keep both cooler temp people and warmer temp people happy as it is neither extreme. What a shame that the designer just bailed without finishing the pattern. (Doesn’t anyone check these youtubes before posting?) And tomorrow is another day. You can do a better job of cleaning the kitchen well then.
Sue- the scarf sounds pretty but a shame that you had to rip out some of the rows. I know its a struggle when you are trying to adjust a sleep schedule especially as daylight hours are decreasing. Hope you can work out a system so you are getting the sleep you need but on a normal schedule, Our bodies like normal sleep schedules for sure.
Tried to take it easy today after church. While I am waiting for my son to come home from the gym think I am going to attempt some stitching

CJ, as usual the quilt blocks are beautiful. I especially like the top block with the heart in the middle. As Ginny said, the fabrics you've chosen are very pretty for Christmas items. I look forward to seeing how you put them all together and what patterns you'll use. If you posted it I've forgotten
Ginny, I'm glad you've had a quieter day. Tomorrow is Monday so I'm guessing it's the beginning of another busy week for you. I hope you'll have some time to work on the fabrics you just received.
Well I've started this bag over 5 times now. The first two times were because the fabric which is a variegated didn't work well with the patterns I was trying. Next time was because, although it worked, I couldn't see the stitches in the black parts. It's RHSS in zebra colorway. So I picked out another yarn and started doing the linked double crochet stitch which I've never done before. I watched some videos on youtube but they were all for the stitch and not for an item made with the stitch so none of them were long enough to show what you did at the end and beginning of rows. I kept coming up with extra stitches when I tried it. So I tried it in a couple different ways on small swatches and I think I have it now. It's a nice stitch for bags because there are no holes for things to fall through. I thought of lining bags but then thought of all the work that would entail for bags that it's possible won't even be used. (whole disappointing Idea)
See you all tomorrow on the new week thread. Have a great night and get rested
