This thread was started before the dawn of time by Amazons who needed to compare their stats with other Amazons. Over time it grew into a community of incredible women who try to keep their spirits in the clouds and their feet on the ground, moving toward health. Most of us start at 5'7" and go up from there, from young singles to wise and lively elders of the tribe. We welcome newcomers who are willing to be kind and share a bit of their lives.

How nice to see so many of our regulars back on the boards! I agree, it's one more step to get here, but here we will reside until we have to find another option.
You know Susan, as I sit here, thinking about what you said, for me too, this week has been extremely over busy, and next week looks more of the same. I really think it's taking the time either Sat or Sun to do a quick map out of the next week. I mean thinking about which day/time works for you to map out the next week. I've been quickly jotting down what type of exercise I can do on which day for the upcoming week. That has been helpful as I know what I'm doing which day, instead of NOT doing it. It's committing to it. You might want to treat this busy week as a vacation week. One in which you might not want to lose, but you don't want to gain either, and go from there. I hope that helps.
Well, speaking of weeks, I am having a not so great week. It all started with me not going to my meeting Monday. To 'lose' what I gained before the next meeting. Bad, bad move. I am resolved to right this ship, and use the time this weekend to focus, plan and prepare.
I am taking my car into dealer for oil change/detail/new brakes! Practically a new car! I have much more to say, but no more time to say it in. I'll try to stop back later, but not sure.
I read all of the past two days posts, and want to comment on so many things: snow (I'd cry), plays (have fun!), intensity minutes (you go Anne!!), colors of the maids (lovely), challenging weeks (am living it), scale not moving and hoping medical mary jane helps dad!!

Present. Trying. Tough week here, too. I'm tracking right now. I feel all of it - guess we'd probably all like some of MCat's DDad's meds Hoping it does the trick. Shari - I was absent when all the planning and moving notice came through - but wow! Hang in there. I think several of us are fully aware of the life of chaos and change you are embarking on. I agree with Andrea - pics of Mick make me so happy. Such a handsome fella. I skipped OTF last night, and the scale was up this am again. I must right this ship. I cannot be 200+ on my wedding day! no no no. So, I plan to leave work timely and go to the 545 class tonight instead of tomorrow morning. I can do this. who is with me??/ Yes, Susan - I want to hear more about DF's new venture and BH#1 status. I need to text Tina to have her give me honeymoon info. We've pinpointed some places on Costco travel (Thanks for recommendation T) but I'm a tropical vacation novice. Ok, it's raining and I've got coffee to drink. Waves to all.

Aloha, Long and Lovelies!!
I apologize for being missing yesterday, but it was a crazy kind of day. We waited most of the day to find out the results and what the doctor wants to do. To give a flavor of where we were at, here's the scene. DMom had googled DDad's issues/symptoms, and drew to the conclusion that DDad only had a few weeks to live. So, they were going in to the doctor's appointment with that expectation. No one slept for two days. They get to the doctor's office yesterday, and DDad is SO worked up that he starts throwing up in the office. Doctor sends him to a room to get an IV to hydrate and get some calming meds. DMom goes down to the car to sleep. Finally, by the afternoon, they have talked to the doctor. Yes, they found cancer cells in the fluid, but they can't figure out where they are coming from, because DDad's scan was clear, and they don't see any growths or legions. If DDad were to do nothing at all, they think about 6 months. There is a clinical trial going on, that DDad can participate in, if they can find something "measurable" in his CT scan (which he is going for today). The clinical trial has the potential to add a year. They decided today that they want to try the clinical trial. So, everyone is much relieved and moving. But MAN, let me tell you - it was a crazy ride. I feel like at least now we all kind of know what to expect and how to handle it. DDad has a nurse and a physical therapist coming to the house, which will help both of them.
And if you didn't read all of that, I completely understand. It was a lot. Side note: they didn't go with the pill form of pot. Apparently now it's not needed?
The allergy testing went well. I am allergic to a couple of weeds (not ragweed, but something else that is in season at the same time), a tree, and a couple of grasses, and one mold. I start the shots in mid June. Now if I could just figure out why I continue to retain water like a water balloon. Sooooooo very frustrating....
Andrea, did you get all of that snow? How insane! Snow in May is very, very, very wrong.
Anne!!! So awesome to see you! I can totally see where the intensity minutes would help. I remember reading where people tend to overestimate how hard they have worked out, and underestimate how much they have eaten. I do both, for sure. Keep us posted on how that goes. Glad to hear the boss is slowly learning to trust you. I'm sure she'll realize what a gem you are soon enough, and rely heavily on you!
Shari - wow! I can't imagine not working. The recital and that's it, huh? Is DH ready for the move and work change?
Frieda, I am with you on needing the scale to move. It's so very frustrating. Is this your kid weekend, or me time weekend?
Colleen, the colors for the dresses sound awesome. My DSIL did that for us - she said we could get whatever black dress we wanted. It worked well, even though we had to wear those silly green shoes.
PKate, I can never keep up with you! You are the busiest introvert I know...
Alrighty, need to get ready for a meeting. Hugs to all of our lovelies!!! Aloha!

Hi CATs. A bit of a lull for me for a few minutes before our big annual fundraiser banquet for work tonight. Say a prayer please that I can squeeze into my dress!
Oh MCat what a nerve wracking experience with your DDad. Sure hope the clinical trial will be beneficial.
Yes Frieda, planning is so important for me. I'm having to learn entire new routines/timing that sync with DF, and things will continue to change as his business venture begins. The path forward for that is becoming clearer following a meeting with the seller and further conversations with our atty. I won't be a partner at first, but likely will once we are married. I'll certainly be a behind the scenes one and will likely do much of the back office work for the venture.
Another issue we have been dealing with quietly for the last month or so is the potential for prostate cancer for DF. We learned this morning that an MRI last week showed an area of concern and there will be a biopsy in the next couple of weeks. His brother (2 yrs older) was diagnosed about 6 weeks ago so the odds are stacked against us. We are hoping for the best and won't worry until we have to. Scares me a bit since my DB had an unusually aggressive form of it at his diagnosis 2 yrs ago. He underwent extensive treatment and is OK so far, but not out of the woods.
So life is always interesting. Hope everyone has a great weekend!
