I never went to Times Square on New Years Eve either. Where would I go to the bathroom?
I had a friend that lived in NYC many years ago. She was an investigator reporter for the NY Times. She was one of the people that broke the story about Love Canal. That's how long ago. lol. She said when they went to TS for New Years it was so much fun. They were not gated in like live stock. There were no plastic hats or glasses. They would bring bottles of champagne and real wine glasses with them. At midnight they'd pour a glass for them and the people around them. Total strangers would then all go get something to eat. It was a very, very long time ago.
She had a meaningful and interesting life and I was blessed to be part of it. She died in August. Rest in peace, my dear Friend.

"hubba hubba!"
Anne, I love it! I get such a kick out of the things you say. You bring me back to a time when I was much younger, had all my teeth, no gray hair, athletic, fit, didn't need glasses or naps, and had a fairly decent bod.
When I saw this phrase I couldn't help but wonder if a much younger person would even know what it meant. Is it an app, a type of bubble gum, a GPS system, a protein bar, an on line game, a cell phone company, a robot that feeds your cat, or a clothing company? lol. You made me smile today. Thank You!

Why would it be any other way..🙄 POLITICS ‘Charlatan’ Evangelist To Pray With Trump At Inauguration She’ll fit right in. 2 hours ago Sebastian Murdock Reporter, The Huffington Post A televangelist who encourages her followers to get closer to God by sending money to her has been invited to Donald Trump’s inauguration. Paula White spent much of the 2016 presidential campaign convincing evangelicals to vote for Trump, assuring them that he “accepts Jesus as his Lord and savior,” she told Politico. Now she’ll be praying with Trump at his inauguration. www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/paula-white-donald-trump-inauguration_us_58652b51e4b0de3a08f76147

Trump praying with evangelicals is quite possibly one of his most hypocritical acts to date. The only thing he's ever worshiped is the Almighty Billion Dollars.

The so called evangelicals are more hypocritical than him. I'll be right back. I can't even finish this post until I find my spitton.

Soooo is hubba hubba a NY thing? I remember my Uncles saying it.......now they would probably be taken to court.
Really??? You remember being in shape with a decent bod? Now I'm not sure a medical school would even want me......lol So much for going up to Yale.

PBNJ- Out of the mouths of babes. Great comment write it down for him to remember?
On another note.....One of the best definitions of being a Christian I have heard is:
If you were arrested for being a Christian, would there be enough evidence to convict you?

Anne, a medical school really doesn't want me! I asked. They said no. I'm not kidding. I inquired about full body donations to a few medical schools. Guess what? They have a weight limit! I kid you not. When I got in touch with them I was 80lbs heavier than I am now and each and every one of them rejected me because of my weight.
Listen to this. It gets better. One of them actually told me they didn't think an intern should have to look at, or work on, a fat body. It might discourage them from becoming a doctor. Yes. That was his words, "a fat body on the table might turn off a young intern." While my head filled with comebacks like, "If he/she is going to be a real doctor, in the real world, I doubt every patient they treat will be a perfect 10!" But, I was kind of speechless so I just hung up. Screw them! I'm doing the Living Tree thing instead. So there. Take that medical schools. lol.

I don't know if hubba bubba is a NY thing. I haven't heard it since I was a young woman so it made me smile. It has to be said in a special way too. You know what I mean, right. lol. Oh, enough evidence to convict a Christian is excellent! Good one. Bumper sticker worthy for sure. lol.

I love that quote when people have their "all holier then thou girdle on".......
There is a very good friend of ours (more like family) he is General Baptist and thinks I am a flaming Pagan or something, was surprised to see that quote on our wall.
He used it in his sermon the next Sunday. Score one for us!
Man I have heard too fat to Polka but not heard too fat to be a cadaver for med school........so they aren't teaching what happens to the heart and lungs and body when a patient carries too much weight?
So what are they teaching the dear delicate interns about childbirth? Ya know blood and all that stuff.....geezzzzzzzzzzz Son was an EMT in highschool and the only thing that made him green was delivering a baby. Not car crashes or amputations or anything else.

Good morning everyone! Linda, hope you are managing with the snow. My gosh, I just can't imagine it! As for the weekly thread, sounds like a good plan to me. I have not been keeping up with politics. Things have just not been in a condition around here for me to do so, and I have not been motivated to do so since nothing I hear seems remotely encouraging. I do enjoy reading all of your posts though, and will get back into the "yes, I have a brain so I should use it to stay current" mind set soon. Pam, I agree that you look terrific! Like Anne's hubba hubba, and it's right o the money for you. Quick update on our ongoing family saga: My mom was finally sent to rehab on the 27th. Physically she is definitely making progress. Mentally and emotionally, not so much. I'm still hoping that will improve but right now it is really bad. In fact, the second night they had to call us because she was sundowning so badly, threatening to call the police because they were keeping her there against her will, etc. DH went to try and calm her down because I was in bed with this dang pinched nerve and he wouldn't let me get up. He didn't have any luck with her. In fact, she started screaming at him about how he and I have ruined her life, we are keeping my Dad away from her, and taking advantage of him because he is old and sick, etc., etc., etc. If you have ever dealt with someone with Alzheimer's you can probably fill in the blanks. If you have never had deal with an Alzheimer's patient, I hope you never do. Anyway, nursing home/rehab staff finally got her calm. Yesterday when I went to visit with her (and had my Dad with me--he has visited her every single day both hospital and rehab), she started in again about how I have done this all behind her back, I am keeping Daddy away from her, etc. There's nothing you can say, and since I can't just sit there and quietly continue to take it because she just won't stop I left and then came back later to pick up my dad. She was calmer then. Anne and Pam, I have been thinking about both of you a LOT with this pinched nerve. Bless your hearts!!! I have had sciatica several times before, and it is very painful but this is different. However, it is showing some improvement. Still on pain meds and steroids, but I can see improvement so I am hoping to be able to avoid the spinal injections. It might not have gotten so bad if I had not spent all those nights trying to sleep on what the hospital euphemistically calls a "recliner", and then sitting in uncomfortable chairs all day. Anyway, getting better and you do what you have to do at the time. Hopefully soon I will be able to get back into a regular routine and post regularly. I really miss all of you. Have a good day!

Hi...
Joyce, I totally understand your Mom's behavior. So much of what she said is the same thing my Mom would accuse my sister & I of. Very very paranoid. You are right to just walk away from it. My mom told me once, that if she had another daughter like me she would commit suicide. That still rings in my ears even tho I know she was deep into her Alzheimers. Wish there was something I could say or do to help you weather this storm, but just know I understand & my thoughts are with you thru this journey with your parents. Hope your pinched nerve heals quickly. 😊

((((Joyce, Linda)))) so difficult to hear those remarks from your mothers. They don't know what they are saying, but the words still hurt. We don't realize how important our backs are till they go out.....I will take my bad knees any-day over a sore back that lands me in bed..... Looks like Putin is again playing Trump like a cheap fiddle. All Trump can say is, "duh he's smart". And what's with May? No matter how much she wants it she is NO Maggie Thatcher and Twitter-boy is no Regan. www.theguardian.com/politics/2016/dec/29/theresa-may-john-kerry-comments-israel-palestine-un-resolution
