Hello! It's December and a time when we traditionally may throw all caution to the wind! But we can still enjoy the the holidays while maintaining or even (shock!) continue our weight loss journey, lol! The holidays don't have to be a disaster, now's the time to make a plan to stay healthy. Use smaller plates; load up half those plates with healthy veggies, fruits and lean proteins before adding much anticipated treats; suggest after dinner walks with family/guests; alternate drinks with water; add simple exercises throughout day -i.e. -countertop pushups while waiting for microwave, squats or leg lifts while talking on phone.
WELCOME EVERYONE, anytime, and yes you can walk/jog/run or combo, cycle, spin, swim, aerobic classes, elliptical machine, yoga, pilates, strength train and core work too!
Each week you set and post your own attainable mileage/minutes goal and strive to achieve it. Saturday through Friday is our fitness week with Saturday morning weigh-ins(WI). WIs are encouraged but optional. There is no judgement here.
This challenge runs December 1 through 31, 2022.

Good morning! I hope you all like this month's thread theme but feel free to edit the primary post, especially if you have any suggestions for maintaining our goals through the holidays. I didn't hear anything bad about yesterday's covid test and bloodwork so presumably all's a go for the surgery on Monday. So I'm starting over this month instead of waiting until the new year. The timing seems right with a new knee hopefully giving me a chance to get back to the exercising I love. We had such a beautiful fall and I couldn't enjoy it like I wanted to because of my knee! And I'm tired of struggling with stairs and not be able to carry even slightly heavy objects and with struggling to get down and up from the floor or ground. And always tripping and falling! But I know I've got a long journey ahead to heal and regain use of my new knee and all this weight doesn't help. My son Tim, who's quite the planner, is going to be helping me get around the first few weeks. I'm going to get his advice and help to set up a plan for exercise and diet. A few years ago when he received a fitbit at work and I gave him a Planet Fitness membership for Christmas, he made a diet/exercise plan and managed to lose 70 pounds that year! He has a notebook that he keeps track of exercise, diet, finances. I used to be like that about 20 years ago. I think he would enjoy helping me set up my plan back to health especially with my other son, Jeremy, getting married in May. I'll be working towards walking again and losing 40 pounds by the wedding. Then I plan (with a little luck too) to drop another 10 pounds by my birthday in June and complete walking a 5K. And finally, be able to jog/run a turkey trot a year from now.

Good morning! I finally got some exercise in after being a slug since Thanksgiving. I walked 4 miles on the TM but in half mile batches every 30-40 or so. I'll try to do the same again today and also throw in some hand weights.
Mo, those never blocks sound awful! Have you ever been to a chiropractor? They can be life changing!

My back always feels better in the morning. I saw the doctor who is testing my blood just to be sure something isn't wrong. She's never see such a result. She is willing to try lidocaine infusions if available soon. I take an ekg and get blood tests to rule out somethin like my father had and his sister cll a type of leukemia in the bone marrow. She tried a block on nerves around my back bones which have also deteriorated cause of osteoporosis but a abc for sure would rule out my father and aunht's chronic lymphocytic leukemia.

Good morning! My weight is down this morning, yay! But now to not let it get away from me this month. My surgery is Monday, so yesterday I spent all afternoon cooking healthy foods to freeze and have available for next couple weeks. Jer and Tim are coming over separately to help get my house more walker friendly and to decorate for Christmas.
Amy, I hope those tests come back negative! It sounds like you have a good doctor that takes your concerns seriously.
Waving Hi! to Mo and Brenda!
I'm usually on my work laptop but I'm going to be blocked from my accounts when I go on leave (is that stupid of what?!), so I need to get my personal laptop set up and hopefully i have the link to WW threads on it. I have emailed the link to myself.

Good morning! I hope all are well! Last night Tim, Julie and Jeremy came over to help decorate for Christmas and to help clear and organize the first floor so I can maneuver around with a walker. Then we gorged on Indian take out. I'm very grateful for my kids.
