I resisted programs like Nutrisystem where you eat their food because you don't learn how to cook your own healthy food like Weight Watchers teaches. The problem with Weight Watchers is they are point based instead of calorie based and it takes lots of time to figure out the points in recipes. What I am learning with Nutrisystem is they have recipes too so as I come off program I can easily add up the caloies for a recipe and divide by the number of servings to get the calories per serving like nutrition labels. The other difference is Nutrisystem counts the calories for everything except non-starcy vegetables. If you want to lose weight keep daily calories less than 1500 and preferably around 1200. To maintain weght keep calories around 1500 per day. And it's easy to gain - just consistently eat over 1500 per day. |

Gary, thank you for sharing the Nutisystem plan. I have often wondered how it worked. I am glad you are doing so well on it. I think that the WW plan is also based on 1200 per day they just go about working it out differently.

Another cowardly terrorist attack in Manchester England this time targeting innocent children. Come on terrorists. Grow a spine.
I saw an article in LDS Living e-magazine about widespread obesity in the LDS church despite the health guidelines in our Word of Wisdom. I can see this problem every week in our church meetings. Every church social features food and lots of it. I have seccumbed many times to the temptation.

From what I have been reading today it is a family net work of terrorists. Father and sons and I wonder who else. I am familiar with the Manchester area as my niece and her family live there. The people there are very friendly. Planning and carrying out the death of children and teenagers is something we will never understand.
Linda, I hope you DH is feeling better and that his stay in hospital will be short. Take care.
Gary, I think that most churches consume a lot of food. We have coffee hour after church each Sunday and there is always an assortment of goodies. When I go to my Knit Wits gp at the library, the library provides coffee and tea and we bring the snacks. I am trying to watch what I eat more closely because the carbs. don't help my BS.
Our temp had almost reached 100 for a few days but today it is 82 and tomorrow it will be in the 70s. That's the sort of weather I like. |

I finally bought a new all-in-one desktop. I can't say I love it yet. I have to recreate most of my information and I'm having trouble posting here. The type-ahead buffer is very slow unless I'm doing something wrong. I need to find out how to change the appearance of my mouse as I keep losing it on the screen but the touch screen feature may help with that.

Let's see how the type-ahead buffer works tonight. Yea!!! It's working after I imported my favorites which I guess the universe knows just from my e-mail address. So where are all the conservatives? I see lots of them on facebook. Guess everybody is busy with Memorial weekend activities - mine is just another weekend at Walmart.
Anybody think Hilary will ever have to answer for her crimes? She and Bill are the worst of the worst weasels alive.
Guess just because I CAN push the limits with Nutrisystem it doesn't mean I SHOULD. I only lost one pound this week but I know the reasons why so I'm good.
