Quote of the Day A Man should always consider how much he has more than how much he wants.
Phyl, are you okay. Missing your posts. Hope all is well and just busy!!
Nothing happening tomorrow but DGD and her family will be stopping by Sunday. Didn't think I would get to see them, so that was nice surprise. I finished my book tonight and started another one as well looked up a recipe for my Highland Cookies, an oatmeal cookie with some spices in it and I think I want to put walnuts in them this time.
Hope Saturday is a great day for you. Spoil yourself!!! It is good for the Soul

Good morning!
I'm so late, it's tomorrow! LOL!
We actually had about a half hour of intense sunshine just before sunset this evening. I'm so tired of these dreary, cloudy, moist days.
Sandy, your casserole sounded delicious! I've never been confident enough to create something like that. I could smell the aroma here too!
Betty, please don't send any snow to Missouri! I'm sure we will have our share before winter is done with us. I giggled at your being excited to use your new snow shovel!
Trying to think of a name for February, but have that old saying, "Nothin' says lovin' like somethin' from the oven!" in my head.
It's way past time to find my pillow and flannel sheets. (12:24 a.m.) Goodnight! Hope each of you is snoozing away! ~~Molly

We have a basketball game this afternoon and that’s it for us. We’ve been getting a laugh as after January 1st our Humana supplement had a few changes and when Fred picked up one of his prescription refills there was zero co-pay and when he picked up my lancet refill it was seventeen cents. We knew our co-pays would be less this year but still that was a pleasant surprise.
Since the game is at 3 this afternoon we’ll have to just pick something up for dinner as not going try fixing something when we get home at 5:30.
I was saying to Fred how I used to do so much baking when the kids were younger and at home but now that it’s just the two of us it would be way too much for us. But I have been really hungry for apple pie so I decided to pick up a can of the apple pie filling and put it in a baking dish and cook it after sprinkling cinnamon on top. I figure it’s really the filling I want, not the pie crust so that’ll work and then Fred can put some on his ice cream. He’s not much for sweets but does like his ice cream and dark chocolate.

Good morning! Happy Saturday!
This morning, after breakfast, we picked up our grocery order, and were pleased to get everything we asked for! yay! I got a peach cobbler (Marie Callender) and will bake it this next week. We'll freeze containers of the leftovers for a different week.
I have been following my plan to make menus, instead of eating on impulse. This evening we'll grill burgers on our little George Forman grill, and then eat as we watch a movie on tv. I've recorded some mysteries on the Hallmark Movies and Mysteries channel, and we may choose one of those. Tomorrow, we'll have some homemade pizza from the freezer before our zoom Sunday School class.
My job today is going to be starting the clearing off of the card table in the office. It has become the dumping ground for all kinds of things, and it is time to finish DGD2's "Teen Years" scrapbook that will be part of her graduation gift. That is going to be quite a job, since I have lots of photos to organize. When I finish with hers, I may try to work on DGS2's book. He will graduate next year. I'll plan a trip to Hobby Lobby for embellishments once I have the organization done.
My February name will be "Birthday Month -- 80!" Maybe that will help me adjust to the new number! Yikes! It's hard to believe until I try to do anything. LOL
Hope your weekend is good to you! Diane

Ever since I joined Weight Watchers in July of 2020 I try to track every day. Even if I decide to go out and indulge in Italian or some other extravaganza I track it.
I really think that's what's helped me maintain the weight loss so far.

I haven't posted for a couple of days.. My heater decidef to quit again. They told us this might happen but it had been running so well that I didn't expect it. But of course the coldist night in the last month and it had to konk out. They are supposed to be out here this afternoon to work on it. Hopefully this time will be the charm.
I changed my upcoming doctor's appointment to a phone doesn't instead office visit. Although I would have liked to seen the doctor, I think the phone visit will be OK. My son is working nights during the week now and it's just too hard for him to take me anywhere in the mornings anymore. They change shifts every 6 months so this 6 months hes on weekday nights. I will need to make a grocery order at some point I think it's been about 3 weeks now.
I think my potassium is getting low again because I am really craving bananas. I'll have to take one of my potassium pills instead because Can't really buy enough bananas to last from one shopping order to the next
Nothing new here but we do have Sunny days for a while and that's a nice break except that it's colder and windy.
Jenny

Shagrae, DD started ww and has already lost 20lbs. I did it years ago. But at 83 I don't worry about it anymore. I don't eat supper anymore. I might have a few crackers. I will have Braum's coleslaw. I will pick up some today. I'm out.
Heading to Bill's. I wanted to go through the car wash but it is supposed to rain so forget that. I wanted to do a few things but probably won't stop today.
Have a good day all.

Good morning. Well...I didn't get any offers to ship some snow and we got a bit more last night. Not measurable but enough that I will need to get it off the patio. Got up late this morning so didn't go for coffee. Just felt like staying at home for coffee. Actually didn't sleep very well.
Have a couple errands to do today but will probably wait until later to be sure the streets are ok.
Finished the baby blanket and made a matching little cap so now I have to figure out a new project. Do have the quilt to work on but need to get the backing and batting and haven't seen DGD to get her to go with me to buy the fabric. She is at her boyfriends for the weekend so will need to find something else to do.
Time to get to work at something. betty

Betty, you missed it but I said to ship some to me and thought you had. woke up to ground covered this morning. so Thank you anyway. It is so pretty out there and no I don't have to shovel it just a dusting but what a change in the scenery!!
Diane, seems like since I turned 80 the birthdays come faster than usual after that. I honestly don't worry about the number, I am lucky I don't have health issues just the usual little things. Jenny, after trying so many bananas to give me more potassium and that not working, I can hardly look at a banana or smell one kind of makes me nauseous. I take two pills for potassium. One in morning and one at night. Works for me. I even ate more sweet potatoes but they are still a favorite of mine.
Molly, that is kind of a cute name for month of February! Sure you don't want to use it?
Phyl, you were missed yesterday. Read elsewhere you had company and a nice surprise!! Those are so nice!!! Mine comes tomorrow !!

I did a load of sheets this morning and now bed has nice clean linens on it. I haven't done much else. It's 32 degrees now and some snow is predicted for overnight.
