Hello again my friends! Ginny, I hope that you and CJ both have an easier time falling asleep tonight. I'm glad that you were able to get all your finances in order and I think you said that included your taxes. I still have to do mine.
Yes the cable hat is very easy but I didn't get as much of it done as I planned so I didn't get a chance to start the gingham blanket. I think I'll hold off on that and make a prayer shawl for my dd. She has some very painful medical issues and other issues that affect her health. I do have one started that is in a very pretty color so I think I'll work on it this weekend and since we plan to meet on Monday I can give it to her then.
CJ, I imagine you've been busy making some more of those beautiful blocks. I hope you're having a good day

Ruth- what a wonderful and caring gift to make a prayer shawl for your DD. I will pray that she somehow is able to be relieved of her pain- that her medical team is capable and can help her live more comfortably.
I am heading to bed soon …. Did start the assembly of the quilt top.

Hello Ruth - I'm glad to hear your weather was better. The teal and white yarns will be beautiful together. I hope that you can get the prayer shawl made for your DD and I wish her the best with her health issues. Ginny - I'm glad you were able to start the assembly of the quilt, hope you can work on it more the next few days. I also hope you get better sleep tonight. I did sleep better last night. I woke up a few times between midnight and 3:00 A.M., but then went to sleep and got a good 4-5 hours without waking, and that's good sleep for me. It was a bit cloudy here today, but in the 60s. Sounds like we get rain overnight and for a lot of the day tomorrow. Fortunately it sounds like we'll miss the stronger storms that are west of me now. I was able to finish 8 blocks for the March Block A Day quilt and I'm going to get all the other pieces cut and the 4 patches made so I just have to put together the blocks every few days. I also finished making the blocks for the table runner and I'm pretty happy with how that came out. I had just enough of one of the fabrics to make binding for it, so I have that all ready. I'll have to check and see if I have a piece of batting I can use and then I could get this one machine quilted this month. I hope I can get out some fabric to make the binding for the four panel quilts in the next few days. Take care and have a good evening

CJ- were you able to find a piece of batting for the table runner? Congrats on completing the March Block a day blocks, bet that will me nice to put together. I have not done a good job keeping track of weather , but do hope that any rain you get is minimal.
Ruth are you hoping to get the prayer shawl done to give to DD on Monday? Good weather on Monday would be nice for you and Dh to visit with her.
I ended up with a stomach bug (thanks to DGS#2 who so generously shared it with me). It’s been a very quiet day for me, I think my stomach is starting to settle a bit. Hard to believe the amount of time I have spent in bed today.

Hello We have a rainy, cold day here. Hope your weather is nicer. Ginny - I'ms sorry to hear you are sick, hope you feel better soon Ruth - Hope you are doing well. Phyl and Sue - I would love to hear how you are, hope all is well for both you. I didn't get much done with any quilting today. I do have a bunch of 4 patches ready to sew together for the block a day block. Once that is done, I'll have all the components of the rest of the blocks needed cut and ready to piece. Hopefully I'll get to making some bindings this weekend, even though I don't want to I'd rather start a new quilt. Take care and have a good weekend!

Thank you to you both. I do hope the weather is ok Monday and Tues because we're seeing dd Mon and Tues is dh's first MRI. a little snow is predicted and it will be in the 20's all week
Ginny, I'm so sorry you are sick again.Being around children that are in school or preschool is so risky. They're exposed to so much and they pass it on.
CJ, It looks like you got a lot done yesterday so if you get a little bit less done today it won't matter in the long run
I just finished my baby cable hat and now will get to the prayer shawl. Yes I do hope to get it done by Monday. I have about a third of it done from when I worked on it before.
Have a great evening and night everyone

Ruth, I hope that you are able to get that prayer shawl done in time!! With a cold week ahead, it will be nice for Dd to have it in her posession- a hug from her mom even when you are not together. Glad that the baby cable hat is done!!!
CJ- aw those dreaded quilt bindings. Were you able to sew together the 4 patches for the block a day block? Of course it’s more fun to start a new quilt. Think we can all agree on that!!
I slept a lot yesterday and even pretty well last night. I am still tired and a bit blah but am doing better, which I am very thankful for. I did order the backing fabric for the fabric cafe quilt. spent a bit of time today looking for fabric online before I found something I liked.
Yes, Phyl and Sue- hope you will check in when you can G

Hello Ruth - I hope your weather is good on Monday and Tuesday so that you can see your DD and your DH can get his MRI. Hope you can get the prayer shawl done. Ginny - I'm glad you are feeling a bit better and that you found some backing fabric for your quilt. It was sunny and windy here today but not too cold - more like normal March weather. I was telling someone that I always remember flying a kite every March. Of course those old style kites only made it through one day without tearing apart, but it was fun. I was able to finish making all the 4 patch blocks, so now I have the 3 parts of my daily blocks cut and I'll probably make several at a time instead of one each day. I also made the binding for the 4 panel quilts that I had quilted last week. I hope to get those sewn on tomorrow. This week several of the monthly block patterns will be out, as well as the weekly ones, so there will be plenty to keep me busy getting those done. Take care

Ginny, I'm so glad that you're feeling better. I hope you get even more rest so you don't have the constant tired feeling
CJ, you do, indeed, have plenty to keep you busy. I'm glad you got all those blocks and binding made.
I worked on the prayer shawl a little and am about to go back to working on it. It's snowing right now but I don't think that accumulation will amount to much.
See you all tomorrow

Hello - Hope you are doing well today. We had another nice sunny day with temps in the 60s here. Hope your weather was nice. Ruth - I hope you didn't get too much snow and you've been able to keep working on the prayer shaw. Ginny - Hope you are feeling better today. I finished the binding on the four panel quilts. I sewed the binding onto the back and then pulled it to the front to sew down. This isn't my favorite way to do it but since these were just panels I quilted for fun, I wanted a quick way to finish them. Pictures are below. The only one I'm not that happy with iw the Snoopy one. The binding color doesn't quite match the color of the panel. I'm also attaching a picture of the table runner I made using that block a day pattern. I don't have a long piece of batting to work with this, so I might just sew some pieces together to make batting for this. After I sewed it all together I noticed that I'd turned that third diamond block in the middle a different way than the other too. But I don't feel like ripping it out, so it's staying that way Take care

Nice work CJ and gee you have been busy!!! Have you ever bought that iron on tape to attach smaller pieces of batting? its sort of like hem tape and works like a charm. The panel quilts came out well, and honestly I do not see that there is much of a diffference in color in the snoopy panel. I am glad you were able to finish these and being that they are just for your pleasure, we absolutely would not judge on your technique. They all look great!
Ruth, did you get much work done on the shawl??? Hope that you did not get much snow either.
I got a bit more done on the fabric cafe quilt. The directions are a bit different, so I do best to make one section at a time….let it rest and come back to it another day- that way I do not confuse my scattered brain much.
Sleep tight and see ya in the morning.

Hello everyone.I hope you all had a good day.
CJ, all of the quilts are beautiful as usual. The Snoopy is my favorite because I'm a huge Snoopy fan. The binding to me looks like like the color at the edge of the panel so it looks like it's supposed to be on there. I think It's perfect. And as far as the other "mistake you made on the table runner, I think you should call the table runner your Guess quilt and if anyone ever asks you about why you named it that you can tell them to guess where the mistake is. I think it looks fine that way.Mostly we all see our own mistakes but anyone else looking at our project wouldn't see it at all...well unless you were in a competition but you aren't so you're good.
Ginny, I'm glad you got to work on the quilt you decided to make. Yes it's a good idea to just do a part at a time esp if the directions are not all that clear.
I decided to do a different shawl which turned out to be more complicated than I thought it would be so I'm not going to finish it for tomorrow but that will give me a chance to see dd again when I take it to her.
