Short and sweet goddesses is a thread especially for us "Short n' Petite Gals". As "Short n' Petites", we have our own issues. Our goals are lower, and as we all know, a 5-pound loss or gain can make a huge difference on a Short n' Petite. We are here to support and encourage one another, so please feel free to join us!

Hi!
Everyone must be busy. It's been sunny and warm here.
I am eating too many carbs, weight at 124.5. When we were on the cruise, I didn't go overboard with the carbs. Dinners were usually multiple courses and I rarely picke pasta.
Holly, enjoy your weekend with friends.
I have had a lazy week. Next week I need to start making Dr's appointments, some things I need to do for my parents, organizing papers.

Home for just a few minutes-----this keyboard may. Throw in some extra periods-------I may just type and let them stay as. I don;t. Have much. Time home.
DS Park ranger rolled over with his ATV (800#) and it rolled on top of him and he was injured pretty badly Wed. Night---they flew him to Vegas to trauma unit late---we were at hospital all day yesterday. He broke his scapula in half, 9 broken ribs, two broken vertebrae, and punctured lung. Did emergency surgery yesterday for 4 1/2 hrs--fused 5 vertebrae and put two rods in his back. He will be in a body brace for 2 to 3 months. Will have a sling for his left arm (dominant arm) and has some supplemental oxygen to assist breathing with the lungs. Successful surgery---at hospital for 14 hours yesterday. I went again this morning at 7 and fed him some cottage cheese and fruit--first food--not much. Stayed till 10 when his DW came. DS showed up about then as well and I went to my two classes---needed exercise so badly after sitting so much yesterday. Then from there I took Jordan for his last tooth pulling, came back here about 2 and had a bit of rodeo salad and fruit for lunch and will go back to hospital after I change clothes---will pick up DGK11 and take him to DGK13's house so he is away from it all for a while---he got to see his dad today. I am so very tired from lack of sleep and stress! Good thing is he is not paralyzed which they said is almost a miracle---the vertebrae pulled away from each other and didn;t snap back and sever the spinal cord--instead they were perched on top of a tiny portion of the bone balanced like balancing rocks! So we feel very fortunate.
Sorry, I am going to sign off with no personals--just have to gett going.

Thank you, Deb! DS is in a lot of pain tonight. A bit grumpy--guessing we all would be if we were in his place. He is such an active man being immobilized is really frustrating to him.

Joan- oh no! That is a miracle he isn't paralyzed. Please remember to take care of yourself to in this time of stress, as his family should as well!
Today is my oldest dogs 7th birthday. So we are using it as an excuse to grill some hotdogs, set up a toppings bar and hang out in the yard. Did most of the cleaning and prepping yesterday so I can relax today and just chop onions, shred cheese, and put out some tablecloths.

omg Joan! That is a close call with paralysis! It must have been a crazy few days for you. I'm hoping he heals quickly and has a good recovery. Aimee is right, you should also take care of yourself, it is taking a lot out of you as well.
Not much going on here, just usual food prep, household chores and gym. Weight down to 123.9, no snacking last night and less carbs.
Aimee, happy birthday to your dog, I forget his name.
Thanks, Deb, for moving the post.
Last night we saw the remake of The Magnificent Seven, not bad.
Next week is going to be hectic, SO has a photographer coming to take pictures of his art work, it could take up to 3 days or more.

Hi all,
Not much happening. The HOA board had a get together at the pool this morning. I'm working on the Universal Design class. Looking forward to my trip tomorrow.
Joan, thinking of you. I know that has to be really tough on him as active as he is. Take care of yourself.
Sue, is this for potential gallery exhibits?
Aimee, happy birthday to Omen. He's just a year older than Charlotte.

Am being a little selfish about taking care of self---Iwent to kickboxing and. Reset (the body roller class) today and did dance and weights yesterday. And I am continuing to track my food on My Fitness Pal --- I decided I could not use this as an excuse to let it all slide again. I gave away our tickets to Phantom of the Opera for tomorrow night though--but in a way that is selfish, too, because we really just wouldn't feel like going. Gave them to a yoga friend and feeling really good about that decision. I have not been cooking but have made good choices so I think I will be okay.
DS is super stressed today---to the point of raising his heart rate way too high---this is his personality kicking in---he has OCD personality disorder--slightly different that just OCD but some of the same traits. DDIL was super frustrated because she could not get him to calm down--I went in and worked with him a bit on breathing--some prompts from a meditation I have done a few times---and I got him to quit furrowing his brow and gripping the bed rail with a white knuckle grip---just those two things brought his HR down from 129 to 114 and eventually 106---he seems to be willing to listen to me so my yoga and other classes are helping--when the spasms come he has to learn to not flex his whole body in response---it lengthens the spasm and intensifies it. It reminds me of working with someone in labor before the pushing is allowed. LOL. His body is full of lactic acid which does not help pain wise. Trying to get lots of water in him as well.

Joan- Thank goodness your son is not paralyzed. I'm sure the recovery will be tough though! I guess his job can be periless. Keeping all of you in my prayers.
Holly - Are you home yet from Greensboro? Spoke to my sister there and they have also had a lot of rain. Rained here AGAIN today.
Sue- As a nuse, I never painted my nails. So it's a big deal now to do it.
Thurs. We went to the aquarium. Friday to Stone Mtn. And the laser show there that night. A busy but fun week.. The kids left yesterday evening.
Today, just church, and relaxing. I weighed yesterday, thinking it Would be terrible. But I am 123. Guess all the walking kept my wt. stable. Pleasantly pleased!

Hi!
More of the usual chores and food prep today, and gym.
Joan, am thinking of you and your family. Nothing selfish about doing things to keep your sanity during this difficult time, you need your strength to help your family.
Holly, the photography is to categorize his work and to show to gallery owner, much better than the photos he was taking himself. Well, SO emailed him a few days ago about coming tomorrow as planned and has gotten no response. Not good.
Jojo, good job on keeping the weight down with all the social activities!
I've been glued to the news what with all that's going on not just here but abroad. Sucks.

DH just texted me from the hospital--they are discharging DS tomorrow---OMG, no idea how he can manage that given what he is on now for pain---and I don't think he has managed to get out of bed on his own yet---I am totally confused and shocked. We will go down after dinner and I will try to get answers. DDIL is leaving to come back in about an hour---she too, is in shock. This seems way too soon--supposedly bringing home health care in three times a week to help with bathing him--I am in panic mode.

Joan- will your son have anyone to stay with him at home? I know you are concernerned- understandably!
Had the electric work done today. They refurbished my breaker box, added grounding and a whole house surge protector. They also put led can lights I'm my 2 upstairs bathrooms( I didn't do the ones in the downstairs bath). Also had dimmers put on my kitchen and bathroom lights. Tonight found that the fan in the hall bath doesn't work- and it did before. Guess I will have to call them back tomorrow.
