CJ, Yes I see why it's called chicken salad and I bet you're happy they no longer have applique chickens.. we know how much you love applique The songbird table runner sounds really pretty and I hope that sometime you'll have a table you want to use it on. Yes next week's blocks will definitely keep you busy. I'm glad you're happy with the quilts you finished yesterday. So far the only crafting I've done is to look at those youtube videos so I'd better get busy except now I think I'll go and do a little more cleaning while the weather is still cool. I will have next week except the day that dh goes to yet another doctor. And we still have our pcp and eye doctors to see.

Hey, I do not like appliqué either!! But CJ- sounds like you got a lot done and are not doing appliqué. It’s pretty, but I am never happy with how mine turns out and it just seems like too much work. So nice to hear that you are still enjoying cooler temps- let’s just hope that the warmer temps are short lived. Unreal, but September is not too far off.
Ruth, did you ever open that wet box of yarn? Hope it’s nice and dry. And neither of my DD’s really used booties all that much. Especially DD#2 used sleep sacks which cover all the legs and feet. Some are really nice and have a slit in them to accomodate seat belts.
Worked this am (which went a bit long) then came home. I am not feeling 100%- so a quiet evening seems in order. Pretty sure that Ds is working a double. I did get started on cutting fabric for the baby quilt.
Last nite I attended a concert with friends- free. This band comes near my home every other year and they are excellent. Such a fun night and a great show. So glad I went. I did today get some of my Saturday housework done, as tomorrow i am making pickles with Dd#2.

I checked out the original chicken salad quilt, it’s adorable! Just wish I am willing to endure that much appliqué to make it. It’s so cute and thanks for posting the picture CJ.
Slept kind of sketchy last night but really cannot complain. At some point today I am making pickles with DD and will run some errands. The weather looks ok- I think I should be able to keep the windows open most of this week because the evenings are supposed to be cool.
See ya later.

Ginny, I hope you're feeling better today.Sorry that you didn't get enough or great quality sleep. It's great that you were able to get the housework done yesterday so that you'll be able to enjoy making the pickles with your dd without having to think about all the work you have to do..I'd love to make pickles if only the cucumbers here were good and a reasonable price.
I finally got one of the Mary Jane booties done so I'll plow thru and try to make the other one a reasonable match. Then I'll try, either today or tomorrow to get all the buttons sewed on so that I can buy more if I need them when we're out on Thursday. I want to make everyone some little thing to send along with all the things for baby. I've seen a few crochet designers say that hair kerchiefs or bandanas are popular. They'd be easy and fast to make if they really are. I also want to make something small for the two boys but I'm not sure what. I've already made chapstick holders for keyrings and backpacks so can't do those again.
It's nice and cool here today.

Hello Ginny - Hope you are feeling better today and that you get better sleep tonight. I've never made pickles but it does look pretty easy. Hope you enjoy yours. Ruth - I hope you find some things to make and send with your baby gift. I'm glad you're having cooler weather. It was more humid here today but still in the 80s. I wasn't able to get to sleep until after 1:00 because some neighbors (I think it is the people renting a house a few away from me) were loudly talking outside. I get so tired of people like that who have no consideration for others. There is no reason to be outside at that hour of the night talking loudly. I feel for my neighbor whose bedroom is right beside their yard. I started sewing together my Sunny Patches quilt top this morning. There are 6 rows in this quilt and I was able to sew the first four together. There are only three more blocks for this quilt along, so I wanted to get ahead and make it easier to finish the top at the end. The layout I'm using is the one that is in the final picture on this website (it's the layout for the quilt along): corianderquilts.com/sunny-patches-sew-along-hst-jelly-roll-block/I also made the first block of a nine block quilt that I have had in a kit I made several months ago and I starched and pressed the rest of the fabric, so I just need to cut and sew the other blocks together. I bought the background fabric in this quilt in 2004! I still remember buying it when I was on a trip to Ohio. It will be nice to finally use it. Take care

It's another comfortable temp day. Not that I'm outside anyway but the house is cooler too.
CJ, I love how all those colors kind of build from each other. It looks like it's not a real time consuming quilt and the layout is nice
Ginny, how did the pickle making go? What kind did you make?
I did get one head bandana done and a good start of the second one. I thought I'd have them all done last evening but I ended up doing other things. I'll finish them today and hopefully get to the crochet bees I will make for the boys.In my stash I found several little skeins of yarn, some of which are missing labels and I don't even know where I got them so I'm able to use some of these for these bandanas

Ruth, sounds like a good idea to use those smaller skeins of yarn for bandanas. Good news to hear that the house is cooler and more comfortable. You do such a good Job finding unique things to make for your family to send to them. I wonder what other project you will be making for the the little boys. Are the booties all done?
CJ I checked out that sunny patches block and it is absolutely adorable! What fabrics are you using for that, what color scheme? I think it’s great that you’re able to use that fabric that you purchased back in 2004 and that you even remember when you bought it. Lord knows I don’t have a mind for that. I do have a neighbor who can be excessively loud. I actually have two neighbors. The ones usually quiets down fairly quickly, but the other one usually runs one or two drunken parties in the middle of the summer. And it bothers me to no end when on a beautiful summer evening that I have to close all my windows and put fans on to drown out him and his drunken friends. I feel for you. And hope you can sleep better this evening.
I did a little bit more laying out for the quilt and I’m starting to organize the squares into color so I can figure out what flowers I’m gonna make with which color blocks. The flowers are four different fabrics each but at the same color scheme so that’s what I’m trying to figure out. I did get a little more gardening done today so some more weeding and it was so hot that I just decided to come in and take a shower. Think I’m gonna read this evening and do some work on the presentation that I have to make in 10 days I’m kind of losing my energy, which is I know a direct correlation to that my stomach is still a little bit off. It’s better than it was yesterday !
Yikes, tomorrow is Monday. I wonder how Sue is doing? Would like it if she would stop him from time to time. See you all tomorrow morning if I don’t make it back later on this evening

I thought of Sue the other day when I saw my grandson and his fiancee. They live just out of Bozeman and so does Sue. I don't know if she still posts on the over 60's or not. I haven't been over there is at least a couple years now.
I suppose this week while it's still cool I need to go out and do some weeding but there's things inside the house I'd like to do too while it's cool.
The quilt you're making sounds a little complicated. Flower blocks with different colors must be tricky.
Ok back to the bandana I'm making with a skein of sock yarn I found in my stash. It's very, very fine yarn and of course you use a tiny hook so I's challenging but I think I have the hardest part done. I've had the yarn for years because I never could figure out why I would buy yarn like that
