Afternoon all. First things first....Gary, good on you getting back on track. I would not worry too much about what to do when your nutrisystem program comes to an end. You know what is good to eat and what is not good. Best thing is to keep temptations out of the kitchen. And then think of the money you've spent on nutrisystem.....you don't want that to go to waste, right? Keep it up, you are doing quite well.
Meg....I'm not sure how to answer that question about Trump asking Comey for loyalty. Was it loyalty to the office or loyalty to the country or what? I have a feeling that Trump knew EXACTLY what Comey was all about....what he did and didn't do during the Obama years. I think Trump kept him around long enough to give him enough rope to hang himself and to do as much information-gathering his administration could.
And to be fair, I've switched back and forth to Fox.com, CNN.com, Daily Caller and Breitbart. CNN's big headline earlier was "Trump told lies about me". I urge everyone reading this to check out either Fox, Daily Caller or Breitbart. Here are a couple of things I DON'T think CNN has mentioned thus far: ******* Former FBI Director James Comey acknowledged that he orchestrated the leak of a memorandum detailing his private interactions with President Donald Trump during testimony before the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence Thursday morning.
“I asked a friend of mine to share the content of the memo with a reporter,” Comey said. “I didn’t do it myself for a variety of reasons.”
The leak to The New York Times’ Michael Schmidt appears to have come by way of Daniel Richman, a Columbia Law School professor and close friend of the former director. The New Yorker describes Richman as Comey’s “unofficial media surrogate.”
Comey told Maine GOP Sen. Collins that he transmitted the memos to TheNYT through a friend at Columbia Law School. ********* Here is another nugget:
Fired former FBI Director James Comey said during his appearance before the Senate Intelligence Committee on Thursday that the New York Times reporting on President Donald Trump colluding with the Russians during the 2016 presidential campaign was “not true.”
Sen. Jim Risch (R-ID) asked Comey about the reporting.
“Okay, so again,” Risch said. “So the American people can understand this, that report by the New York Times was not true, is that a fair statement?”
“It was not true,” Comey said. “Again, all of you know this, maybe the American people don’t. The challenge — I’m not picking on reporters about writing stories about classified information… [the challenge is] that people talking about it often don’t really know what’s going on and those of us who actually know what’s going on are not talking about it.”
“And we don’t call the press to say, hey, you got that thing wrong about this sensitive topic,” Comey said. “We just have to leave it there.”
And there you have it....the media lies and libs just gobble it up and spew it out. I can just imagine how the libs on the GDT are taking this....then again, maybe they only watch CNN or MSNBC and don't get the whole story??? Comey was playing "cover my own ass"....at first he thought Clinton would win....so he was "hands off" more or less about the e-mail thing. Then when it got closer to the election....it really seemed like Trump would win....so he tried to play both sides. Bottom line is.....firing him was a good thing.
Wow.....so glad about this hearing....makes me SO MUCH MORE THANKFUL that we have PRESIDENT TRUMP. Lin
I have only listened to bits of this hearing. I think Trump sensed that Comey was not straight with him and I can understand that the President would want people who are trust worthy and loyal. I think any president would want people around him who were honest. The libs keep saying he doesn't know how to be president because he is not a politician. They don't get the point the people didn't want another politician so they voted for Donald Trump because he is not a slick politician.
Thank you all for sharing your views. It will be interesting to see where this will all end.
Yeah, huge busy news day today. I watched Hannity's 2 hour show tonight on the Comey hearing and proclaimed Trump the undisputed winner. Lots of conflicting testimony - Trump was 100% right to fire him. I really don't understand it all.. Comey seems to be playing both sides against the middle.
I haven't listened to any news today but I will catch up later and will probably watch Fox at 5 pm.
Gary, I don't understand it all either but I will keep trying. To me Comey appears to be a very foolish man and I don't thinlhe is the best person to head up the FBI and President Trump was very wise to see him for what he was and fire him.
Susie, I love that " he has the personality of a door knob" No matter which TV programs Comey turns up on I would have a difficult time believing him. Hopefully he will retire and fade into the sunset.
I am sure Trump told Comey he'd better hope there are no tapes of their conversation in order to scare him into telling at least some of the truth. In any event Comey is a spineless wimp Democrat puppet. Hilary Clinton is as guilty of crimes as anybody I have ever seen and Comey let her off. I hope justice will eventually be done and both Hilary and Comey will be cellmates in prison.
