WELCOME TO REGULAR & NEW POSTERS! This thread is full of encouragement & suggestions. New people, welcome! We encourage you to jump in. One day, one hour, one minute at a time is easier to handle than a week, etc. Lurkers, join in
Our goal is 21 days Binge Free (studies show 21 days to break old habits & start new ones!). Whether we make 21 or one, the point is to learn as we go, replace binges with other things to help us through stressful times. Some days are harder than others & we may slip; that's OK. The Binge Monster is in the shadows waiting to pounce. Hopefully this thread provides inspiration, courage, & support to become a Binge Survivor!
You may see different folks on different "Cycles." A Cycle is a 21 day block of consecutive binge-free days. Stay with us for as many cycles as you'd like.
Everyone's definition of a BINGE is different. The Oxford Dictionary defines a binge as a spree of eating and drinking. To many of us, BINGE is defined as "eating without dignity." The dictionary defines "dignity" as a calm and serious manner or style, showing suitable formality or indicating that one deserves respect. Only you can define what a binge is for you. Going over points, as long as it was done with dignity and journaled (therefore acknowledged and "owned") isn't binging--it is up to you to decide.
SPECIAL THANKS TO LESLIE5609 for starting this challenge on the Out of Control Board, in August '02, and thanks to all who keep it going

C78D5, 8 water, 30 points, all ghgs except only 2-1/2 dairy, 11,049 fitbit steps, 1 binge in June
Denver had a friend over on Sunday. When the nanny picked the boy up, their dog got out. Marshmallow is 16 years old, virtually blind, a bichon frise I think. It was pouring rain. DDIL and DS looked for him all night and 8 hours each day on Monday and Tuesday. All she could think of was how scared he must have been. She was to accompany DS on a business trip to Houston on Wednesday. He had to go but she couldn’t leave. All the neighbors, her friends, the police, etc. were on the hunt but no luck. On Wednesday she and her father went out to post signs all over town. While they were doing that her DM (visiting) heard a knock on the door. It was a little boy from the neighborhood. Two lawn workers found the dog in a creek and asked the little boy if he knew whose it was. She grabbed the twins and ran down there. Marshmallow was alive with one foot stuck in the mud. They took him to the vet and he checked out OK. Talk about miracles.
Edesia – Yeah for healthy eating. Hope you were able to get in some exercise. There are just so many hours in a day.
Jan – Actually DH was still in bed when we left. The photo was taken by the girls. They piled up their backpacks to prop up their cell phone and then timed it. I guess you’d still call it a selfie. Amazing, isn’t it? As for DH, he’d love to get back to the photography but it kills him to stand in his studio for any length of time. He’s even hinted at clearing it out. As much as I’d love a working garage, I’m not encouraging it.
Beth – Speaking of Dunkin… when I was in the supermarket on Saturday, a woman bought her child a large cup full of donut holes. The kid must have been about 8 years old and worked her way thru about a dozen of them. Seemed to me like a case of child abuse.
Lori – Oh no – Did you even give a passing thought to bringing one dessert home? Next time, right?

TGIF!
Nancy, what a story about Marshmallow! Yes, I agree--child abuse. There's no reason to "entertain" a child with a cup full of donut holes in the grocery store.
Lori, interesting about sugar and the leg cramps. It's definitely a tangible reason to avoid too much sugar!

YAY for Marshmallow's happy ending! and BOO for a cupful of donut holes!
Good WW meeting last night although the number on the scale was quite ugly. It's fine though...I'm focused on tracking and have even committed to tracking the couple of things I just "have" many days that I don't count. Gotta start getting honest with myself and at least have a REAL accounting of what I'm putting in my body. Time to face facts!
Let's Be Good To Ourselves Today!

Morning, BFF's! Looking forward to the hot, sunny weather! My plan is to eat healthy this weekend. It will be a welcome change and I am strangely excited about it. TTYL
Nancy - So glad Marshmallow is ok. That must have been so scary.
Beth - Good for you for getting things back in order. Wherever we are is the only starting point we have. I agree about the HR contest. I rarely get through an inning or two of the All Stars, as well. It would be fun to see Judge, though. He seems like someone who will be setting all kinds of records. He also seems to be a genuinely sweet and humble guy.
Lori - Interesting about sugar and cramps. I never had that effect. Would probably have been better if I had. How many more days until you leave?
Jan - Agree with TGIF!
Kathy - Hope you are back and get in some rest.

Hi Girlfriends! C1D10 KC8pm Treadmill Oh Nancy, I am so very glad Marshmellow is okay. Know that must have had every one in a frantic frenzy! Will have to go back and read about the donuts. DS sent us an email with DGS's address, so we will be able to write him now. His graduating date is Sept 7, so maybe I can get a picture with camera & post on here. Well, we headed to the lake. Love ya'll, Cindy

Still here and alive but very busy. Weight has been maintaining right around goal. I need to adjust my eating a bit but I'm not doing anything crazy. I'm also not getting in as much exercise as I had been and I need to fix that.
Nancy-glad to see Marshmallow was located.
